November Favorites

Favorite Movie

Hunger Games: Catching Fire: I read the trilogy and I loved it. I read it so fast, it was so exciting! My 13 year old cousin had to read the first one for her class, and she got into the trilogy too, so we were both excited to see this movie. I took her to see it as a birthday present. We both loved it better than the first movie. Paige mentioned it was by a different director, so maybe that had something to do with it. This movie is what every great movie has: excitement, special effects, good acting, great music, beautiful clothes and makeup, a love story, and a great story of course. This movie tried to make me cry, but I refused. It has been awhile since I read the book, so I couldn't remember what was going to happen next or who was to be trusted. It was like reading the book all over again. I absolutely loved it! I can't wait for the third one to come out. Is it going to be 4 movies? I forget. This story has a great message. I love it when people stand up for what is right and they are courageous. Also, in one of the previews they showed the preview to Divergent, which is another book I read and I put it on a monthly favorite. I'm so excited to see that! Paige hasn't read those books, so I loaned them to her on Thanksgiving. I would see this movie again. I liked it so much. I think Jennifer Lawrence is an amazing actress. She is definitely a movie star.

Favorite TV Shows

1. American Horror Story: Coven: There were a lot of pictures for this show, but I didn't want to show anything too scary. xD This TV show is rated M for mature. It has nudity, sex, drugs, violence, and horror. It isn't for everyone. I think it is so good! It has great direction and great actors. Jessica Lange plays the head witch. Kathy Bates is an immortal racist who was buried alive but now has been dug up, Angela Bassett is the head voodoo witch. This show is so shocking. I don't know where to even begin. Every episode shocks me more. It all starts out with a girl finding out that she is witch, and so she goes to a boarding school for witches. There are scenes from the past, and it all takes place in New Orleans. There are the voodoo witches and they are against the witches descended from the Salem witches. There was a peace between them, but that has ended. This show has zombies and ghosts. It is fascinating to me. I've never seen anything like this on television. This is like a movie.

2. Vanderpump Rules: This is the second season of a spin off show from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. I've already talked about how I like to watch those shows. Lisa Vanderpump is one of the housewives and she owns several bars in Beverly Hills. There is a lot of drama that goes on among the waitresses and bartenders of one of the bars. That is what this show is about. It is a reality TV show.   I don't like all the people on the show. There is like a mean girl clique and relationship drama. Everyone on the show is gorgeous. It is sort of like a soap opera, but for some reason I'm into it.

3. Grimm: I love this show! This is the third season. It is filmed where I live! It's cool to see places where I've been in the show. This is based off of the Grimm fairy tails. This show is supernatural. It is kind of like a police show, except the bad guys turn out to actually be monsters. The main character is Nick who is a Grimm and a police officer. He sees the monsters in people, and knows how to kill them. There is some comedy relief in the show, and the show can get scary because of the monsters. This season Nick became like a zombie, but he's not the typical kind of zombie since he is a Grimm and has all these weird powers. Actually last season ended with him being turned into a zombie. This season he woke up. He has become like a monster, that needs to be turned back to normal. I find it all really interesting. All three TV shows I like are on Demand, so I can watch them whenever I want to.

Favorite Songs

This month I heard versions of these songs that I feel are better than the originals. I heard them on Mrslolalynn's Youtube makeup tutorials! Normally I mute the video when they have music because I don't like the songs. These songs are beautiful! They are by Savannah Outen. The first one I heard was Clarity by Zedd in the background of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Sh6ZvrnL3o. The next one I heard was Roar by Katy Perry in the background of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1XgrWZUM23s. I like her versions better than the originals because she slows down the songs and puts a lot of heart into it. She really brings out the melody. I love it!
3. The Monster by Eminem ft. Rihanna
4. Demons by Imagine Dragons

Beauty Favorites

1. Up & Up Eye Makeup Remover: I can't believe I forgot to put this into my monthly favorites! I have been trying this out instead of the Neutrogena Eye Makeup Remover. This is Target's dupe, and it is less expensive. It works just as well as Neutrogena! I'm so glad I tried it.

2. The Balm Blush in Frat Boy: I got this for a good deal at Hautelook. I buy all The Balm products on that website because they will have things for 1/2 off! I love this blush. It is a bright peach, and it looks matte to me. The packaging is so cute. On the inside it says "so many men, so little time!" I love the old fashioned pictures The Balm has on their packaging. It has a magnetic closure. This is my go to blush when I don't know what to wear. I used it this month to dupe the blush in Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things called "Melt Into Spring." I also used it when I wanted to wear a warm blush.

3. Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Creamsicle: I love this lip gloss. It is a very similar shade to Frat Boy, I just noticed. I normally wear cheaper lip products, but I splurged on this. I love the Buxom lip glosses. They actually plump up your lips! They feel luxurious to me. It leaves a minty feeling on the lips. It is shinier than the photograph shows. This is my favorite warm toned lip gloss of the moment. It smells like vanilla!

4. Essie Nail Lacquer in Parka Perfect: I saw this on someone and it looked like the perfect color for the cold weather. It is a cute baby blue.

5. Maybelline Eye Studio in Fall Temptation: This was limited edition for the fall. It is all neutrals. It just is perfect for the fall. The first color is a multicolored gold, green and yellow glitter. The 2nd color is a golden green yellow. The 3rd color is brown with gold and copper shimmers. The 4th color is a black brown, with red undertones and it is matte.

6. Milani Brow Fix in 01 Light: This month I went to my local salon to get a face wax done. I have never had it done before. The person also waxed my eyebrows, which I didn't ask for. I thought my eyebrows were already in good shape because they were groomed, so she waxed off too much! Now I have bald spots on my brows. :( I normally don't use anything on my brows because they are dark and don't need any help in my opinion, but now they do. I love this set from Milani. I use the middle color and it is a perfect match for my eyebrows. I use an angled brush. It comes with a sponge applicator, an angled brush, and tweezers. It also has a light color for a browbone highlight.

7. L'Oreal Visible Lift Foundation in Soft Ivory: I feel like I'm always having foundations as my favorites, but my skin keeps changing! I think I have combination skin, but now that it is really cold my skin is dry. I was using Revlon Colorstay for Dry Skin, but even that wasn't moisturizing enough for my skin! I researched good drugstore foundations for dry skin. I wanted something full coverage too. I found this is good. It gives a full coverage and my skin it moisturized. It leaves my skin looking dewy, which I think most people with dry skin like, but I'd rather not be shiny. I just have to get used to it. I'd rather be dewy and have my skin feel good, than have it feeling too dry and peel off! I think this is actually supposed to be good for your skin. It is has pro-retinol A+ and vitamin C. It is also SPF 17. I think it is supposed to help with anti-aging.

8. Wet 'n Wild Megalast Salon Nail Color in Haze of Love: I saw someone with this on their nails, and it looked beautiful. It is not expensive. It is like a cranberry shade.

9. Sally Hansen Lustre Shine Nail Color in Copperhead: I think I am more of a copperhead than a redhead! This is funny. I got this nail polish thinking it would be perfect for the fall, and my mom didn't know I had it. She was out shopping one day and bought it for me! So now I have two! It is such a beautiful shade. I think it has a duo chrome, so it changes color depending how the light hits it. I got other Lustre Shine Nail Colors that I have yet to try. You will probably see more of these in future monthly favorites.

10. Wet 'n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Photo OP Eyeshadow in Newport Nights: This is a pretty palette. The middle color is the most pigmented of all the shadows. It is a glittery bronze with gold glitter. The top left color is a vanilla matte. It blends into my skin. The bottom right color is a vivid orange satin. The top right is a pale satiny peachy pink. It blends into my skin even more than the highlight. The bottom left color is a pale pink with slight blue duo chrome. I can't remember if this was limited edition or not.

I hope you like my monthly favorites! What were your favorite things this month? I'm so excited for tomorrow because I'm going to start doing daily blogs to count down til Christmas! I'm not sure what I should call it, Advent Blog, Blogmas, etc? If you have a suggestion leave it down below!

Happy Thanksgiving Makeup Look!

I hope you all have a really great Thanksgiving. I'm happy to see my relatives and eat good food. I also think it's good to reminded to be thankful and keep a positive mindset. I wish there could be more Thanksgiving days sprinkled throughout the year, not just one.

I noticed this year, I can't remember what I thought last year, but this year I noticed a lot of people on Youtube that I subscribe to doing Thanksgiving looks. There were a lot of good ones, but I think I can only do one for Thanksgiving. Which one should I choose? I'm actually thinking to do all of them throughout December because they are usually warm toned holiday looks. I like them better than a lot of the Christmas looks. They just look better on me. Maybe I should do a blog post on all the Thanksgiving looks that I like, but that will have to be in December, which may be kind of odd to do Thanksgiving looks in December. xD Anyway, this is the look I picked and I love. I'm wearing this look for Thanksgiving. It's by Samantha, SMLx0, and she has really different coloring than me, but this look still looked good on me and her. It's weird. She has dark brown hair and tan skin with blue eyes. I have pale skin, freckles, red hair, and hazel eyes. I'm not exactly sure why this look looks good on both of us, it just does. She used the Lorac Pro Palette, which I duped, but a lot of the stuff she used I have. It is from the drugstore. I hope you like it! And who cares if it isn't Thanksgiving, wear it in December!

This is the makeup I used that is not mentioned in the tutorial:

Concealer: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Ivory
Eye Shadow Primer: Milani Eyeshadow Primer (this is essential for me)
Mascara: Covergirl Lash Perfection in Very Black (top lashes)
Black Liquid Liner: Jordana Incolor Fabuliner Liquid Eye Liner in Black
Face Primer: Pixi Flawless & Poreless Face Primer in Translucent
Foundation: L'Oreal Visible Lift Foundation in Soft Ivory (my skin has been really dry)
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent
Eyebrows: Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit in Light

Thanksgiving GLAM Makeup Tutorial by SMLx0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXDGmedZBOM
a. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Pomegranate Punk, lid and lower lash line
b. Lorac Pro Palette, Taupe, crease: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
c. Same Palette, Sable, crease: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 6th color
d. Same Palette, Espresso, outer v: Maybelline Sunbaked Neutrals, 5th shade
e. Same Palette, Cream, under brow: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 1st color
f. Concealer, clean up under eye, see video
g. Maybelline Color Tattoo Pigment in Improper Copper, pat all over eyelid, lower lash line, pat don't swipe it to avoid fall out
h. Blend it out in the crease so no harsh lines.
i. NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe in Glam Nude, lower lash line: LA Splash Liquid Eyeliner in Golden Abalone
j. Black liquid liner, top lash line, no wing
k. Tarte Smolder Eye Liner in Brown (chubby pencil), waterline: Milani Shadow Eyez in Espresso Line
l. Mascara
m. Jordana Lip Liner in Tawny
n. Victoria Secret Lipstick in Melt: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Paradises
My Thoughts: Watch the video to see how she cleans up her eye with concealer. That is a great trick! I used Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer in Ivory and a Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush. It worked really nicely. This look is so pretty! This is one of my favorite holiday looks so far. The eyes and lips stand out, but it doesn't look 90's or like I'm wearing too much makeup. There is no blush color. I'm not sure if she wore blush, but I'm not because then it might look like I'm wearing too much makeup. The eyes are cranberry, brown, and gold glitter. The gold glitter may be a little over the top, but I think it is fun and I'm curious to see what my relatives will say about it. xD The lips are so pretty and really fit my coloring. It looks like my lips but better, the lip liner and the lipstick. I've been hearing people talk about Tawny for a long time, and finally I decided to get it. It was only $1 at Walgreens. It is a lip liner color I don't have. It is a "my lips but better" lip liner for my lip coloring. The lipstick is the same. It is beautiful. I had trouble finding the lipstick at first, but I found it at Fred Meyers. They have a bigger collection of Rimmel makeup. The Improper Copper pigment is beautiful! It is my first Maybelline pigment. I'm really impressed. I may need to get more of them.

I hope you guys have a fun Thanksgiving! Remember to count your blessings!

“Lord, behold our family here assembled. We thank You for this place in which we dwell, for the love accorded us this day, for the hope with which we expect the morrow; for the health, the work, the food and the bright skies that make our lives delightful; for our friends in all parts of the earth. Give us courage and gaiety and the quiet mind. Spare us to our friends, soften us to our enemies. Bless us, if it may be, in all our innocent endeavors; if it may not, give us strength to endure that which is to come that we may be brave in peril, constant in tribulation, temperate in wrath and in all changes of fortune and down to the gates of death, loyal and loving to one another. We beseech of you this help and mercy for Christ's sake.”  by Robert Louis Stevenson

Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette Dupes!

                                                             (Source: Sephora's Website)

I don't remember when I first heard about this palette. It was probably from a blog. I was so enchanted! This is one of my all time favorite songs. It is from "The Sound of Music." This palette derives it's names from the song lyrics. If you have never seen this movie (and you should!) here is a clip of the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E3aBB-J9vhg.

I had problems duping this palette. The palette comes with a look book (which I love) and I copied each look with my dupes, but each time I wasn't happy with how they turned out. I didn't want to make a blog post if the looks were no good. But I was so disappointed because I thought this palette was really cool. I think it just goes to show the saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" Sorry if I'm being too corny. Today I decided to redo my dupes and look at other blogs. The blog that helped me the most was Temptalia's. She duped this palette already. Some of her dupes were from makeup I had or makeup that I had dupes of! So this was really handy to me. I also love her descriptions. So if you have duped something and it doesn't turn out well, maybe look for another blog review with different descriptions and it will help you get better dupe results.

This is a link to Temptalia's review, dupes, photos, and swatches. They are two different parts. Part 1: http://www.temptalia.com/faced-favorite-things-palette-review-photos-swatches-part-1
Part 2: http://www.temptalia.com/faced-favorite-things-palette-review-photos-swatches-part-2

I also had help from this blog: http://www.vampyvarnish.com/2013/10/faced-favorite-things-holiday-2013

I didn't find dupes for all the eyeshadows in the palette. Just the ones I wanted to find.

1. Whiskers on Kittens: Wet 'n Wild Newport Night, upper right color
2. Moon on Their Wings: Maybelline Enchanted Forest, upper right color
3. Chocolate Milk: Wet 'n Wild Nude Awakenings, 3rd color
4. Dark Chocolate: Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in Fall Temptation, 4th color
5. Cream Colored Ponies: Almay Trio for Hazels, cream shade
6. Evergreen: Wet 'n Wild Envy
7. Buche de Noel: Urban Decay Mariposa Palette in Wreckage
8. Blue Satin Sashes: Wet 'n Wild Pride, 3rd shade
9. Coquet: Elf Baked Eye Shadow in Pixie
10. Taffy: Wet 'n Wild Sweet as Candy, pink color
11. Woolen Mittens: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
12. Soiree: Maybelline Eye Studio Mad for Mauve, 4th color
13. Tinsel: L'Oreal Hip Dynamic, left side
14. Snowflakes: Urban Decay Ammo Palette in Polyester Bride
15. Honey Honey: Urban Decay Ammo Palette in Chopper
16. Melt Into Spring Blush: The Balm Frat Boy
17. Raindrops on Roses Blush: Hard Candy Baked Blush in Living Doll
18. Chocolate Soleil Bronzer: NYC Bronzer in Sunny
19. Sun Bunny Bronzer: NYC Sun 'n Bronze in Fire Island Tan
20. Bee Sting Lip Product: Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Creamsicle

These are the looks from the look book. If I find other looks I like I'll add them to this post later. I have a feeling people will be creating looks with this palette.

1. Weekday
a. Base: Whiskers on Kittens, I think the base is from the lashes to the eyebrow. Temptalia's dupe is Wet 'n Wild Newport Night, upper right color. The description is "pale peach with a hint of pink and gold sparkle." The dupe is a matte color though, but I think that is good for a base not to be sparkly.
b. Lid: Moon on Their Wings. Temptalia's dupe is MAC Retrospeck, and the dupe I have for that which unfortunately I'm not sure where I found this from is Maybelline Enchanted Forest, the upper right shade. When I first started keeping a list of dupes I didn't keep track of my sources. The description is "warm, golden beige with a frosted, metallic finish and gold micro-glitter."
c. Crease: Chocolate Milk. Temptalia's description is "medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish." My dupe is Wet 'n Wild Nude Awakenings, 3rd color.
d. Line: Dark Chocolate. I think this means to line the upper and lower lashes. Vampy Varnish's description is "dark brown matte." My dupe is Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in Fall Temptation, 4th color.
e. Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex. It comes with the palette. I just use the mascaras I have been using: Benefit They're Real! (top lashes) and Maybelline Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Waterproof in Very Black (bottom lashes).
f. Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. It comes with the palette. I guess it even smells like chocolate! Vampy Varnish describes it as a "light matte bronze." Somewhere I heard the dupe for this was NYC's Bronzer in Sunny. I put it on the hollows of my cheeks, temples, hairline, and under the jaw.
g. Blush: Too Faced Melt Into Spring. It comes with the palette. "Silver white winters that melt into Spring." I just remembered these lyrics when I was listening to the song again. Vampy Varnish describes this as a "bright peach matte." My dupe is The Balm Frat Boy. This is one of my favorite blushes.
h. Lip Injection Color: Bee Sting. It comes with the palette. I forgot what this had to do with the song. "When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad. I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad." Vampy Varnish describes this as a "pale pink/peach, shiny." My dupe is Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Creamsicle.
My Thoughts: The eye look is really pretty and classic. The blush is a pretty peachy pink color. The lip gloss is like Bee Sting because it makes your lips plump up. The Creamsicle lip gloss smells like vanilla, and it doesn't sting, it gives a minty feeling on the lips. This look is really beautiful.

For the rest of my face I used:
Concealer: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Radiant (under eyes)
Eye Shadow Primer: Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Face Primer: Pixi Flawless & Poreless Face Primer in Translucent
Foundation: Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin in Ivory
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent

2. Weekend
a. Base: Cream Colored Ponies. Temptalia's dupe is Bobbi Brown Bone. Somewhere I found out MAC Blanc Type is a dupe for Bone, and somewhere I found out Almay Trio for Hazels, cream shade is a dupe for Blanc Type. The description is, "pale, cool-toned ivory with a matte finish." My dupe is more of a satin finish, but it is close enough of a matte for me.
b. Lid: Evergreen. Temptalia's dupe is MAC Humid. Somewhere I heard a dupe for that is Wet 'n Wild Envy. The description is, "medium-dark forest green with cool undertones and a pearly finish."
c. Crease: Buche de Noel. The description is, "medium dark brown with a golden, frosted sheen." I found a good dupe for this is in Urban Decay's Mariposa Palette, Wreckage.
d. Line: Blue Satin Sashes. Temptalia's dupe is MAC Prussian. Somewhere I heard Wet 'n Wild Pride, 3rd color is a dupe for Prussian. The description is, "deep, dark blue-teal with a matte finish and subtle gold sparkle. My dupe has no golden sparkle, but it still looks good.
e. Mascara: Better Than Sex
f. Bronzer: Too Faced Sun Bunny. This comes in the palette. It has 2 shades. Vampy Varnish's description is "medium golden bronze metallic and a pale golden bronze with a slight sheen." I heard if you swirl all the colors together a good dupe is NYC Sun 'n Bronze in Fire Island Tan.
g. Blush: Melt Into Spring
h. Lip Injection Color: Bee Sting
My Thoughts: I wasn't sure about the blue on me, but it looks pretty next to the green. The Wreckage color is beautiful. I love my Urban Decay books. It makes me want to get more Urban Decay makeup, maybe for Christmas. I already said I love the blush and lip gloss. The eyes are green, brown, and blue, but it looks good. It sounds like a weird combination, but I like it.

For the rest of my face I used the same as the first look, plus:
Concealer (blemishes): Boots No.7 Stay Perfect Blemish Cover in Extra Fair

3. Pretty Playful
a. Base: Coquet, pale, light-medium pink with a golden, frosted finish and warm, yellow undertones. I used Elf Baked Eye Shadow in Pixie.
b. Lid: Taffy, light-medium, warm-toned pink with a slightly metallic sheen. I used Wet 'n Wild Sweet As Candy, pink color.
c. Crease: Woolen Mittens, medium taupe matte. I used The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul.
d. Line: Soiree, burgundy matte with pink sparkles. I used Maybelline Eye Studio in Mad for Mauve, 4th color.
e. Mascara: Better Than Sex
f. Bronzer: Chocolate Soleil
g. Blush: Raindrops on Roses, candy-colored pink with fine golden sparkles. I used Hard Candy Baked Blush in Living Doll.
h. Lip Injection Color: Bee Sting
My Thoughts: Pixie is not very pigmented, but that is ok because I just wanted a wash on my entire eye space. If you want to have more pigment you can get it wet. I'm not sure about pink on the lid. I heard that it is a good color if you have hazel eyes. I think it does bring out the color in my eyes, but I also think it looks like my eyes are sore. It doesn't look so bad once the liner and mascara is on. I'm loving the Hard Candy blush. It took me awhile to get my hands on it because my Walmart was always sold out of it. It's the same lip gloss, and I love it. So the eye look is pink on the lid, taupe in the crease, and mauve as a liner. At first I didn't know if I liked it, but now that the look is complete I think it looks really pretty and feminine.

For the rest of my face I used the same as the first look, except:
Foundation: L'Oreal Visible Lift Foundation in Soft Ivory (My skin is getting drier, and I needed a more moisturizing foundation.)

Here are some more looks I found using this palette.

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show Lily Aldridge Inspired Makeup by rachelectric http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xmSO6iZoR54
a. Face Primer
b. Foundation
c. Concealer
d. Maybelline Dream Lumi Concealer in Radiant, under eyes, nose, above nose on forehead, cupid's bow, chin
e. Powder
f. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder in Diffused Light, under eyes, all the places where she highlighted: I used a cream product, Benefit's Watt's Up!
g. Too Faced Chocolate Soleil Bronzer, hollows of cheeks, a little bit higher onto cheeks, temples, hairline, sides of nose: NYC Sunny
h. Benefit Dallas Blush: Covergirl Cheekers Blush in Soft Sable
i. Lorac Spotlight, top of cheekbones, nose, cupid's bow: Hard Candy Tiki
j. Jordana Eye Shadow Pencil in Continuous Almond, lashes to brow: Milani Shadow Eyez in Almond Cream
k. Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette, Honey Honey and Snowflakes, eyelid: Snowflakes is a pale white gold with a frosted, metallic finish. Temptalia's dupe is Urban Decay's Polyester Bride. I have that in Urban Decay's Ammo Palette. Honey, Honey is a warm, golden copper with a frosted, metallic finish. Temptalia's dupe is Urban Decay's Chopper. That is also in Urban Decay's Ammo Palette.
l. Same Palette, Dark Chocolate, outer corner of eyelid and crease: Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in Fall Temptation, 4th color
m. Same Palette, Milk Chocolate, crease: Wet 'n Wild Nude Awakenings, 3rd color
n. Same Palette, Dark Chocolate, outer corner, outer crease, deepen it out more
o. Clean blending brush and blend out everything.
p. Dark brown eye liner, upper lash line, lower lash line, use a q-tip to blend it all out: L'Oreal Colour Riche Eyeliner in Black/Brown. It comes with a smudger on the end, so I used that instead of a q-tip.
q. Nude liner waterline: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal in Nude
r. Mascara
s. Too Faced Bee Sting: Buxom Full-on Lip Cream in Creamsicle
t. Nude Lip Liner: Boots No.7 Line and Define Lip Liner in Nude
u. MAC Lipstick in Blankety: Wet 'n Wild Perfect Pout Lip Color in Fergie Daily
v. MAC Lipstick in Myth: Elf Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph
My Thoughts: I'm writing this as I'm not done with the look yet, but I can already tell the face looks so glowy and pretty. I love the combo of Chopper and Polyester Bride on the lid. The step where you take the Dark Chocolate color and put it at an angle on your eyes was difficult for me because my eyes aren't like her's. I tried to do it with a pencil brush, but my eye shadow didn't come out even. It's ok because when I got the lighter brown I blended everything out. With the liner I did ok on the upper lash line, but the bottom lash line when I smudged it out the line got really thick, so I'm going back and removing it with eye makeup remover. With this look you may want to do the eyes before the face because I got a lot of fall out from the Urban Decay eye shadows. The eyes look really pretty. They are different shades of brown, copper, and the white just blends in to the copper to make it lighter. The lips are nude. The look is focused on the eyes and glowing skin. I like it.

For the rest of my face I used as mentioned above, except:
Mascara (top lashes): L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Waterproof in Blackest Brown
Eyebrows: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 2nd color (is a dupe for MAC's Wedge)

For the rest of my face I used the same as above, except:
Eyebrows: Milani Brow Fix in 01 Light

I hope you like these looks and find the dupes helpful! You may not need to get the palette if you have the same color eyeshadows, blushes, and bronzers.

Fall Makeup Looks Part 5

I was thinking about taking a picture of myself for each makeup look because someone told me it was more interesting with pictures, but when I have my picture taken with my camera it is too far away and you can't really see the makeup. Also, even if the picture was good quality, I feel uncomfortable having my picture on my blog. I think it's because I have low self esteem. Maybe I don't feel pretty enough to do it. I wish that I had a picture for every makeup look. I know that would make it more interesting. I guess the visual will have to be the link to the actual tutorials if you want a visual of how the makeup looks on someone and how to apply it. I try to do the look without watching the video, but sometimes I watch it because I know the person will have a certain way of doing the makeup and it helps me to watch them do it. Sometimes I like to follow along step by step and try to copy the brushes they use. It also depends on how much time I have. If you are a visual person, please click the link to the video!

d. Lorac Pro Palette, Taupe, eyelid: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
e. Blend it out
f. Same Palette, Sable and Espresso, outer corner, blend it out: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 6th color and 5th shade in Maybelline Sunbaked Neutrals
g. Black Eye Liner, tightline, upper lash line
h. Same Palette, Black, over the liner: Wet 'n Wild Greed, 3rd color
i. Smudge out liner
j. Black Liner, waterline
k. Same Palette, Sable, lower lash line
l. Mascara
m. Same Palette, Cream, brow bone: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 1st color
n. Concealer
o. Powder
p. Benefit Hoola Bronzer, hollows of cheeks: NYC Bronzer in Sunny
q. MAC Lipstick in Hue: Maybelline Color Sensational Porcelains in Nude Nuances
r. Rimmel Lipstick in Airy Fairy
s. Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Sunset Peach
My Thoughts: The eyes are a dark taupe, and the lips are a glossy nude. There is no blush, which I think looks a little weird on me because I'm so pale. I put Pretty Peach Blush on by Covergirl. She did the look with berry lips, but when I watched the video for some reason I didn't like the berry lips, so I went with the nude option she gave.

3. Fall Inspired Smoky Green & Bronze Makeup Tutorial by rachelectric http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K-F6P7nj9U4
a. Jordana 12 Hour Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond, lashes to brow: Milani Shadow Eyez in Almond Cream (the Jordana one is less expensive, but I have the Milani one and not the Jordana one)
b. Urban Decay Chopper, eyelid
c. Urban Decay Blackout, outer corner: Wet 'n Wild Greed, 3rd color
d. Bareminerals Starlet Catherine, middle, blend out Blackout, on top of Blackout: Stila In the Garden Palette, Moss
e. Bare Minerals Banana Smoothie under brow: Elf Beach Beauty Palette, 2nd color
f. Blackout, crease
g. Blend it out.
h. Black Liquid Liner, upper lash line, wing
i. Black Eye Liner, tightline, waterline
j. Jordana Jade Jewel, lower lash line, smudge it with q-tip: Jordana Easyliner for Eyes in Sea Green
k. Urban Decay Bootycall, inner corner: Wet 'n Wild Lust, 4th color
l. Mascara
m. MAC Blush in Peaches: Elf Blush in Peachy Keen
n. MAC Lipstick in Ravishing: Revlon Lipstick in Smoked Peach
My Thoughts: I wouldn't say there was bronze on the eye. I think Chopper is more of a copper, but some leaves change to that color. There is green from the liner and Moss. The yellow is under the eye, so she has a lot of the fall colors represented on the eyes, but you don't look like a clown. The cheeks and lips as you can guess by the names are peach. This is a really pretty look. I heard the Jordana Eyeshadow Pencils and the Milani Shadow Pencils are very similar. I originally got the Milani ones because I heard they were dupes of the Urban Decay Shadow Pencils. Then Jordana came out with them, which was even cheaper!

4. Bronze and Plum Smokey Eye by candicemagen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ga7UPT-naLY
a. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Rich Mahogany, eyelid
b. Use brush to soften the edges.
c. Urban Decay Smog, eyelid
d. Urban Decay Hustle, outer 1/3, crease: 2nd shade in Elf Day to Night
e. Fluffy brush and blend it out
f. Urban Decay Virgin, under brow, blend out the crease: 4th shade in Wet 'n Wild Lust
g. Urban Decay Half Baked, inner corner: Left color in L'Oreal Hip Duo in Dynamic
h. Blending brush and blend out inner corner
i. Urban Decay Smog, lower lash line all the way to Half Baked
j. Blend out lower lash line
k. Urban Decay Creep, liner upper lash line: 6th shade in Wet 'n Wild Greed
l. Maybelline Gel Liner in Eggplant, waterline
m. Urban Decay Hustle, waterline
n. Mascara
o. Elf Blush in Mellow Mauve
p. Maybelline Color Sensational in Mauvelous Shine: Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Celestial
q. Covergirl Lipstick in Everlasting, just a little bit: I skipped.
My Thoughts: The Celestial lip lacquer is really pretty. It looks like my lips but better. The eyes are a smokey bronze and purple look like the title says. The cheeks and lips are mauve. I think it's a look that would look good on a lot of different kinds of faces. I don't remember why I skipped the Covergirl lipstick. I just thought it unnecessary or I didn't like the way it looked.

6. Tutorial & First Impressions: RiRi Hearts MAC Fall by Grete Link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KEAD2U60Gts
a. Lip Balm
b. MAC Soft Ochre Paint Pot: Revlon Illuminance Cream Shadows in Not Just Nudes, 1st color
c. Bronzer, hollows of cheeks, temples, forehead
d. RiRi Hearts Diamond Highlight, top of cheekbones: The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer (this is powder she used a cream highlighter)
e. MAC Blush in Dolly Mix: Wet 'n Wild Heather Silk
f. RiRi Smoked Cocoa Quad, Shroom, eyelid, inner corners: Wet 'n Wild Lust, 4th shade
g. Same Palette, taupe color next to Shroom, crease: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
h. Same Color, lower lash line
i. Same Palette, Black, outer v: Wet 'n Wild Greed, 3rd color
j. Blend it out
k. Black Eye Pencil, upper lash line, smudge line
l. Mascara
m. MAC Lip Liner in Kiss Me Quick: Rimmel Lasting Finish 1000 Kisses Stay On Lip Contouring Pencil in Red Dynamite
n. RiRi Lipstick Retro Matte: Revlon Cherries in the Snow
My Thoughts: Since this is a fall collection, I will put it with the fall looks, but I feel like this is more of a winter look. It has elegant taupe eyes, not smoky. The cheeks are flushed like how they get when it's cold outside, and the lips are bright red which reminds me of holiday makeup.

i. Same Palette, Pink Sapphire, on top of Truffle: Wet 'n Wild Knock on Wood, eyelid color
j. Urban Decay Virgin, inner corner: Wet 'n Wild 4th color
k. MAC Copper Sparkle, spray with Fix Plus, eyelid: NYX Roll On Shimmer in Nude
l. Black Liquid Liner, upper lash line, wing

o. Benefit Rocketeur Blush: Milani Baked Blush in Rose D'Oro
p. NYX Butter Gloss in Tirimasu: Wet 'n Wild 904b Rose Bud

e. Same Palette, bottom right, crease: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Garcia
f. Blend out harsh edges
g. Same Palette, bottom right, outer corner of lower lash line
h. Same Palette, bottom left, inner lower lash line
i. Same Palette, upper right, middle lower lash line
j. Spray Setting Spray on eyelids: Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
k. Bronze eyeliner waterline: Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Eye Liner in Bronzed
l. Black Gel Liner top lash line, tight line
m. Mascara
n. NYX Lip Liner in Nude: Boots No.7 Lip Liner in Nude
o. L'Oreal Fairest Nude Lipstick
She has a dark lip option.
My Thoughts: The eyes are dark brown and smoky. The lips are nude. There is no blush. I think this look really brings out the eyes. I don't like the dark lip trend.

l. Mascara
m. MAC Blush in Gingerly: L'Oreal True Match Blush in Bare Honey
n. Jouer Lipstick in Olivia: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Peach
o. Jouer Lip Gloss in Peony: Bonnebell Lip Lites in Strawberry Parfait
My Thoughts: This is one of my all time favorite fall looks. I just really like the colors. I love the combination of Barely Branded with the pink color from Walking on Eggshells. The Bare Honey blush is the perfect match for my skin tone. The lipstick in peach with the Strawberry Parfait on top looks really pretty. I think Allison has the same coloring as me.

I hope you like these fall looks! I still have more fall looks, but I don't know if I will like all of them that I try out by the time December comes around. To be honest, I'm getting tired of doing fall looks. I'm ready to dupe the new makeup palettes that are coming out for the fall. I want to dupe Urban Decay Naked Palette 3, but I'm having a hard time. I might have to put that on my Christmas wish list. The Lorac Unzipped Palette looks very similar to me.

I hope you are having a good November! If I don't write to you sooner, Happy Thanksgiving!

Perfect Palette TAG

I thought this was an interesting tag when I saw people do this on Youtube. I wanted to do it too. I first saw emilynoel83 do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uNBdcg1iXkg and then I saw vintageortacky do it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M9_6hRrFuY. These are people that review a lot of makeup palettes and own a lot of them, so they have a good idea of what are the good palettes out there.

1. Best Packaging

Sephora Cinderella Palette has beautiful packaging. I love the artwork on it. You can take off the eyeshadows and inside is a velvet drawer where you can put jewelry or whatever you want in it.

Also, I agree with emilynoel83 that The Balm Rockstar Palette has good packaging because there is a little flap that goes over the lip and cheek cream products so the shadow doesn't fall into it.

2. Best Color Payoff

I think my most pigmented palettes are my Urban Decay ones. The first one is Mariposa, then Ammo, and last the Deluxe Shadow Box. I didn't use any primer on my arm. The colors are just so bright and beautiful. Before owning Urban Decay I didn't realize how pigmented eye shadows could really be.

3. Most Versatile

My Elf Beach Palette has 2 blushes, 2 bronzers, 16 eyeshadows and 8 lipsticks. It comes in this little palette too. The makeup is good quality. Sometimes Elf makeup can not be that good, but this is a good palette.

4. Best for Traveling

This is my Wet 'n Wild Walking on Eggshells palette. It is just a trio size, so it is small enough to be good for traveling. I like the colors because they are neutral and every day wearable.

5. Biggest Regret

I was really excited last year when these palettes were out during Halloween. They are the Elf Villain palettes. The makeup in them isn't very good. I don't use them, and when I do I'm disappointed. I will try to use something and end up putting a different product on top that is better quality. I think it is a cute idea, though.

6. Best Color Names

This is hard for me to choose because a lot of my palettes have great names.

Elf Maleficent Palette: Spindle, Sceptre, Fog of Doom, Fauna, Misfortune, Forest of Thorns, Deep Sleep, and Diablo

Elf Evil Queen Palette: One Bite, Vanity, Narcissistic, Potion, Fairest of the Land, Majesty, Peddler's Cloak, Poison Apple

Elf Cruella Palette: Puppy Love, Coat of Dreams, Cruelty, Sewage, Spotted, Maniac, Little Beasts, Extinction

Sephora Cinderella Palette: Maiden, All Aglow, Destined, Cinderelly, Pumpkin Coach, Ball Gown, Kill Joy, Fairy Godmother, Glass Slipper, Royal, Gus Gus, Charming, Chateau, Palace, Drizella, Cinders, Jaq, Midnight, A Wish, Rococo

The Balm Rockstar Palette: Metal-ica, Iron Maid-in, Lead Zeppelin, Alice Copper, Adagio, Allegro, Moderato, Presto, Blink 1982, The Stroke, REM, Third Eye Blinded, Solid Gold, Don't You Want Me? Milly and Vanilly

The Balm Nude'tude Palette: Sassy, Stubborn, Selfish, Sophisticated, Sexy, Serious, Snobby, Stand-offish, Sultry, Seductive, Silly, and Sleek

Too Faced The Return of Sexy Palette: Naive, Ingenue, Innocent, New In Town, Casting Couch, Pink Diamond, Icon, Divorcee, Hopeless Romantic, Primadonna, 7 Year Itch, Bombshell, Hollywood, Maneater, Beautymark

7. Least Used

My least used is Stila In the Garden Palette. I want to do a blog post on this, and try out the looks from the book that comes with it and looks I find that I like on Youtube. Right now I have been focusing on Fall looks and after that I will focus on Holiday looks, and then Winter looks. Pretty soon the seasonal looks will die down, and I will have time to focus on this palette. It looks like a good palette.

8. Most Used

My most used palette is Wet 'n Wild Vanity. I use it to copy looks all the time. I'm always using it to dupe other, more expensive shadows. If you look at my posts about copying looks I'm always mentioning this palette. The left side is matte and the right side is shimmery. It's a really handy palette.

9. Most Loved

My most loved palette right now is Stila In the Light Palette. When I'm not trying out a look for my blog, and I am just putting my makeup on, I use this palette because it is so pretty and natural looking. It makes me feel like I'm naturally pretty. I love the Stila Kitten eyeshadow to put on my lid, and one of the matte browns in my crease. When I don't know what to wear, I take this palette out. That's why I'm excited to focus on my Stila In the Garden Palette because I think I'm going to like it just like I like this one.

10. Desert Island

It's hard for me to choose just one. I think I would choose one that has lip and blush colors in it too, like my Elf Beach Palette or my Elf Clutch Palette. The Elf Clutch palette comes with 64 eyeshadows, 1 bronzer, 2 blushes, 1 highlighter, 6 lip glosses, an eyebrow powder and an eyebrow cream.

This was a fun tag to do. I tag you to do it if you have a blog or a Youtube channel.
