March Favorites

TV Shows

Bob's Burgers: This month I figured out how to get Netflix on my computer, so I watched a lot of TV shows and movies. I heard Leighannsays talk about this show on her Youtube channel. She dressed up as Tina for Halloween. This show reminds me of The Simpson's because I think it is funny for children and adults. Also this month I was looking up Myers-Brigg characters, and Tina just happens to be an INFP (which is the same as me), so she has a special place in my heart.

Adventure Time: I heard about this show from Michelle Phan on Youtube. I think she said she was friends with the artists for this show. It is a very bizarre world. The main character is a boy and his sidekick is a shape shifting dog. They go on all kinds of adventures. I thought it was pretty funny and interesting. I like the different personalities, and I don't know what to expect.

The IT Crowd: My mom introduced me to this show I think several years ago, and I thought it was hilarious. It is a show from England. The two guys are nerds who work in the basement in the IT department of their work. The woman is their supervisor, who knows nothing about computers, and quickly becomes their friend. It is pretty silly humor, but I like it and I like the characters.

Boys Over Flowers: This is a Korean Drama. When I first started watching this I thought it was a comedy, but it is does have drama in it. I haven't watched all of the episodes yet. It is about a girl who was just delivering laundry to someone at a wealthy school. He was being bullied, and she rescued him from jumping off the roof (not everything in this show is entirely believable). The news captured it, and the school looked bad because of the bullying, so they invited her to attend this private school for rich kids. The four guys are in this very elite clique. The girl stood up to the boy that was doing the bullying, and then he started to bother her. I don't know why, but I am addicted to this show! I think I like the girl because I relate to her being awkward, and wanting to stand up for what is right. And the guys are very cute too!

Favorite Movies

Ju-On The Grudge: This movie is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen! I saw this first in the theater. This was before the American version came out, so I didn't know the story at all. I didn't know what to expect. It is based on the idea that when someone is killed in a very bad way, there is a curse that happens. So this family is killed, and anyone who enters this house where it happens is marked with a curse. It is like a haunted house, and there are ghosts.

Favorite Beauty Products

Pantene Pro V Volumizing Shampoo for Fine Hair: I used to use this a long time ago, but someone told me that Pantene products are very bad for the hair. I don't know if that is true because my mom has always used Pantene and she has beautiful hair. I like this shampoo because it does give volume.

Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray: This gives volume and is a heat protectant. You spray this on your hair when you get out of the shower. I like how it gives volume and is a heat protectant in one bottle. I think I got this in my IPSY bag.

Pur-lisse Pur-delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser and Makeup Remover: This is a nice, light weight facial cleanser. It has a very light, clean smell.

3-in-1 Revolution Light by LeeAnni Eco: I got this in my IPSY Bag too. This is what it says about this on the IPSY website: "Great for normal to oily skin and during warmer weather. Toner, Serum, and Moisturizer in One. This Revolutionary Lotion will save you time during busy morning rush and moisturize your face all day long! Help tighten skin, reduce breakouts, relieve dark circles under eyes, moisturize, fight aging, treat sun damages, and calm irritated skin. Gluten-Free. Natural. Vegan." I have been putting this on after I wash my face. I don't think I would buy the full size, but I am using this up. It feels good on the skin.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (24-Hour Miracle Cream): I love this cream for moisturizing my face! I have seen makeup artists use this on Youtube, and I never thought I would get to try it for myself. I don't know if I can go back to any other moisturizer! The only problem is a still need to wear an SPF because this has no SPF in it. I think I got this in my Birchbox.

Spring Lush Gift!

My Best (and longest) Internet Friend sent me a package in the mail!!! It said LUSH on the box, so I knew right away what was inside. The wrapping reminds me of the 60's hippies, and a few of the things inside the box remind me of the hippie culture too. This package is called, "Bright and Breezy" it says, "Three cheerful products to put a spring in your step." What a thoughtful gift!

Each Peach (And Two's A Pair) Massage Bar: A cheery citrus bar with cocoa, avocado and mango butters to make skin softer and moods brighter. You are supposed to massage this onto dry skin, and it will melt upon contact.

Happy Hippy Shower Gel: Enjoy an early morning trip to the shower with this cheerful gel bursting with fresh pink grapefruit juice, bergamot and frankincense essential oils. I love the smell of pink grapefruit! This reminds me of the "Happy Hippy" Dance they had at the school I work at. Everyone was supposed to dress as a Hippie.

Karma Soap: Our classic exotic and earthy soap. Use on your hands and body to enjoy wafts of patchouli, sweet orange and lemongrass oils all day long - spread the good Karma! This is another thing that reminds me of Hippies - the patchouli.

March IPSY Bag

This is the bag for this month. I like the bright colors, but I don't like the pattern.

Crown Brush AC012 Shadow/Crease Duet: I really like this brush! It is very soft. I have never had a crown brush before. One side is a pencil brush, and the other side would be a good fluffy, crease brush.

Pur-lisse Pur-delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser and Makeup Remover: This says it is sulfate-free and non-drying. It gently washes away dirt and makeup (even mascara). It also soothes and tones skin. It is for all skin types. I will try this out.

3 in 1 Revolution Light: It says it is a toner serum and moisturizer in one. It says it is healthy food for your skin. It is for normal to oily skin. I haven't tried this yet, so I don't know if I like it or not.

NYX Butter Lipstick in Little Susie: I have heard people talk about the NYX Butter Lipsticks. It is a pretty warm pink color.

Pixi Petra Mesmerizing Mineral Duo in Apricot Glow: I have seen Pixi sold at Target, and it is expensive for a drugstore makeup brand. This seems to be a shimmery eye shadow duo. One color is a shimmery peach/apricot (it looks gold in the picture) and the other color is a shimmery bronze.

I am the most happy to get the brush.

March Birchbox

I have to be honest with this box. I think it looks very strange. I don't get it. It must be the latest trendy art movement?

This month's theme is creativity. I'm not sure what that has to do what is inside the box because to me it seems like the sort of things that are normally in the box, but I guess doing your hair and makeup can be a creative thing. The card says, "I feel most creative when I ... When do you feel most creative? Fill out the front of this card, share it, and tag #birchbox and #giveaway for a chance to win full-size versions of everything in your box!" I am not going to do this, but I will answer the question right now. I feel the most creative when I put on makeup. I feel like an artist.

Macadamia Natural Oil Nourishing Moisture Masque: "This luxe treatment reinforces strands for shinier, stronger, healthier-looking hair. After shampooing, coat strands from near roots to ends. Wait 7 minutes, then rinse." I think I actually already have this. If it is what I already have then I haven't noticed anything remarkable about this. It seems like a normal conditioner to me.

Rusk Texture Dry Finishing Spray: "This medium-hold spray gives any hair volume and shape - while keeping its natural bounce. Shake well, and spray onto roots for extra oomph or your whole head for flexible hold." I will have to try this when I put my hair in a ponytail, and see if I can get more volume.

Wei Manuka Bee Venom Anti-Wrinkle Mask: "This treatment firms, softens, and minimizes fine lines, with a warm tingle as it works. Brush mask onto clean face, avoiding eyes, 1-2 times weekly. Wait 10 minutes, then rinse." I'm sort of nervous to put bee venom on my face!

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (24-Hour Miracle Cream): "A makeup artist must-have, this cult moisturizer moonlights as a primer and makeup remover. Apply a small amount to clean face and neck, or dab on with a cotton ball to remove makeup." I am the most excited to get this in my box! I have seen the Pixiwoo sisters use this many times on their Youtube makeup tutorials.

Mirenesse Mattfinity Lip Rouge in Sydney: "Velvety color with a modern matte finish. No need for lip liner. This stain stays put. Glide wand over lips. Wear as is for bright color, or blot for a subtler look." I have noticed that matte lips have been "in" lately. I don't know if this color would look good on me.

Beauty Products

1. Fortune Cookie Wonderland Futterwacken Body Wash: I got this in my Fortune Cookie Soap Box for the Spring. The theme this season is Alice In Wonderland. This is described as smelling like, "Sun warmed lilies brightened with a splash of grapefruit and a breath of fresh air." I love the way this smells. It is very refreshing. I guess Futterwacken is the name of the dance the Mad Hatter does in the movie.

2. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in W1-2 Porcelain/Light: This foundation goes on my dry, winter skin better than the foundation I was using which was Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin. It is more moisturizing.

3. Elf Mineral Face Primer in Tone Adjusting Green: I remember seeing this in someone's video, and I was very interested. It is supposed to be good for covering up red skin, but I didn't see it do anything like that. But it is a good primer. I like the way it feels on my skin.

4. Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette: This is another palette I got at Christmas time. I really like neutrals, and I like the quality of these chocolate bar palettes. Some of the shadows are shimmery and some are matte. I have heard people say this isn't as good as the original chocolate bar palette, but I think it is.

So those are my favorites of the month of February! I hope someone found this helpful in some way. If you want to you can leave a link to your blog with your favorites in the comment section. I hope you have a great month!
