August Empties

1. Pantene Flat to Volume Shampoo for Fine Hair: I really like this shampoo. My mom likes it too. I would repurchase this, but I already have shampoos I feel like I should use before getting anything new.

2. Fortune Cookie Wonderland Futterwacken Body Wash: This smells like grapefruit and lilies. It was from my Spring Fortune Cookie Box. I really liked this, but I won't repurchase because I have so many body washes.

3. Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel: I love this smell. It smells like grapefruit. It helps to wake you up. This was a good shower gel. I wouldn't buy it again because I think it is too expensive.

4. Philosophy Shampoo, Shower Gel & Bubble Bath in Gingerbread Girl: This smells like gingerbread. I really liked this. I would repurchase this, but I have too many shower gels.

5. Elf Mineral Face Primer: I got this from Target. I thought it looked good because it would counteract redness, but it didn't work too good for that. I liked the feel of it. I think it is a good primer. I wouldn't repurchase it, though.

6. Oribe Shampoo for Beautiful Color: I got this from my Birchbox. It doesn't lather up in my hair like I would like. I felt like I needed to use a lot of this to clean my hair. I will not purchase this.

7. Boots No.7 Lip Liner in Nude: This was my favorite nude lip liner for a long time. I think Lisa Eldridge used this in her tutorial about Audrey Hepburn. I got it at Target. I already have other nude lip liners I need to use before getting a new one.

8. L'Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter: I might get this again. It is just as good as the Maybelline one. So whichever one is cheaper I will get. I already have concealers that I need to use.

9. Essential Elements Shower Gel: This smells like mint. It was OK at first. I like the Philosophy Candy Cane one better because it is sweeter. I wouldn't purchase this. I got this from either Birchbox or IPSY Bag.

10. Juicy Couture La La Perfume: I have never smelled a Juicy Couture perfume I didn't like. I like this one. For some reason I have two samples of this, but this is the first sample that has run out. I have so many perfumes in my collection counting all my samples and big bottles. I don't need to repurchase this one. But I would recommend it, if you like the first Juicy Couture or Juicy Couture Viva La Juicy. Ulta's description: Topnotes: sparkling mandarin, water hyacinth, green apple, red currant. Midnotes: lily of the valley, blushing peony, violet leaves, orange flower. Drydown: smooth woods, liquid musk. The smell is sweet and fruity with flowers. It is very girly.

April Favorites

Favorite Movie

The Longest Ride: I just got done reading a Nicholas Sparks' book, so I was in the mood to see this movie. I am reading the book now. It is a really sweet love story. Actually, two love stories. I heard someone say that you are a push-over if you like these kinds of movies. I don't think so. What's wrong with liking a sweet love story? It is inspiring to read or watch these kinds of stories because you can hope that something like this can happen in your own life.

Favorite TV Show

Fated to Love You: Here is another love story. It is a K-Drama. Remember I watched my first one last month? They are very cute! This is a lot like the one I liked last month. The girl is nerdy, the guy is rich and crazy. There are two love triangles. The girl and guy get drugged and end up sleeping together! She gets pregnant, and he is supposed to have an heir, so they decide it would be best if they get married. I haven't finished watching it, but it seems like they are going to fall in love. The show is funny, but it is also dramatic. But it isn't so dramatic that it makes me depressed at all.

Favorite Book

This book was so good! I have read The Notebook by Nicholas Sparks. His books are very easy to read, and they are just sweet, simple, love stories. It sort of teaches you how a good relationship goes. Something to hope for or to inspire you. The girl is starting over in a new town. She has a mysterious past. The book reveals what she is running from, and you can compare her new life with her old life. It gets really exciting! There is a surprise ending. I didn't see it coming.

Beauty Favorites

Elf Poreless Face Primer: I think this does a good job. It is inexpensive, and I used it all month. It makes the foundation go on smoothly.

Lush Happy Hippy Shower Gel: I got this in my surprise package from my friend. I had sent her a Lush goodie box, so she sent one to me. It had Spring bath things. This is my favorite thing in the box. It smells like grapefruit. I love the way this smells, and feels.

The Balm Balmsai Palette: It says, "We like our boys like we like our brows...in shape!" This is an eyeshadow and brow palette. It comes with stencils for your eyebrows, and eyeliner stencils! I think this helps me to do an eyeliner wing that matches. This was on sale on Hautelook. I don't know why I am a sucker for The Balm on Hautelook. I really don't need any more palettes.

Milani Color Statement Lip Liner in Nude: I think this is a Kylie Jenner type color. It is a matte nude. It looks like my lips but better.

Spring Lush Gift!

My Best (and longest) Internet Friend sent me a package in the mail!!! It said LUSH on the box, so I knew right away what was inside. The wrapping reminds me of the 60's hippies, and a few of the things inside the box remind me of the hippie culture too. This package is called, "Bright and Breezy" it says, "Three cheerful products to put a spring in your step." What a thoughtful gift!

Each Peach (And Two's A Pair) Massage Bar: A cheery citrus bar with cocoa, avocado and mango butters to make skin softer and moods brighter. You are supposed to massage this onto dry skin, and it will melt upon contact.

Happy Hippy Shower Gel: Enjoy an early morning trip to the shower with this cheerful gel bursting with fresh pink grapefruit juice, bergamot and frankincense essential oils. I love the smell of pink grapefruit! This reminds me of the "Happy Hippy" Dance they had at the school I work at. Everyone was supposed to dress as a Hippie.

Karma Soap: Our classic exotic and earthy soap. Use on your hands and body to enjoy wafts of patchouli, sweet orange and lemongrass oils all day long - spread the good Karma! This is another thing that reminds me of Hippies - the patchouli.

Blogmas Day 24: Christmas Hedgehog

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

Finally, we get Santa Clause. I thought he was fatter.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

I think this is really cool. It is a music box! It has a button in the back, and if you push it, it will play several Christmas songs!

LUSH

The Christmas Hedgehog Bubble Bar: My version is not as cute as the website picture. It smells like shaving cream.

This is what the website says: "Soothing floral friend. If you're feeling a little prickly this festive season, hop in the tub with this indulgent floral bubbler! Made with softening shea and cocoa butters and a seriously relaxing blend of floral essential oils, this adorable hedgehog is sure to melt frosty winter moods. Crumble him under running water and sink into silky waters scented with soothing lavender, rose and ylang ylang oils - the day's troubles will soon seem VERY far away!"

I'm sorry this blogmas wasn't as good as last year's. I haven't really been in the Christmas spirit, but I felt like I made a commitment to do a blog a day, so I made myself do it.

I hope you have a good Christmastime and a Happy New Year.

Blogmas Day 23: Christmas Penguin

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

It is a race car and a package.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

It is Santa Clause!

LUSH

The Christmas Penguin Bubble Bar: I got this last year. I think he is so cute.

This is what the website says: "Bubbly bath time friend. Isn't he adorable? Inspired by the smallest penguins in the world (found on Philip Island, Australia), we've invented our very own tiny penguin for bubbly bath time fun. Crumble yours under running water to create orange flower and bergamot-scented froth, then sink into the comforting waters and allow the Sicilian mandarin and lemon oils to transport you to a warm, sun-drenched locale. It's the perfect way to relax after a long stressful day!"

Blogmas Day 22: Dashing Santa

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

I was really happy to see these little guys today, little animals to go inside this basket.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

This is the same thing that was in the other advent calendar. It goes on the cart in the park. The moon handle is broken, so it doesn't go on.

LUSH

Dashing Santa Bath Bomb: It smells citrusy. This is new for this year.

The website says: "A dash of citrus for the bath. Just as jolly Old St. Nick races around delivering presents to good girls and boys on Christmas Eve, this Dashing Santa Bath Bomb will fly around the tub, dashing to and fro. His golden boots fizz away quickly, releasing an uplifting Satsuma-scented aroma made up of mandarin, bergamot and orange absolute. He also has a bit of a snowflake luster to give your water a beautiful sparkle, giving you a reason to sit back and revel in a long, lingering soak."

Blogmas Day 21: Santa Baby

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

That is what the gift looks like before you fold it into a package. You can put the guitar in the hand of a person, so one of the elves is playing the guitar.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

We have more birds for the park.

LUSH

Santa Baby Lip Tint: This is a classic red lipstick. It doesn't feel like a lip balm, which is what I thought it would be. It is a lipstick type texture. You can also use it as a blush.

This is what the website says: "Sweet Christmas kisses. A deep, classic red, this tint provides a colorful moisture boost for the lips. A rich base of Fair Trade shea butter and cocoa butter will soften the lips and keep them hydrated through the chilly winter months, while vitamin-rich carrot oil nourishes and softens. If a super hydrating base and gorgeous color weren't enough, we've also added a sweet cola flavor made up of festive date and cherry extracts! Apply sparingly for a subtle rouge tint, or more generously for a bright crimson pout. Smooth onto lips and make sure your under-the-mistletoe kisses are as sweet as can be!"

Blogmas Day 20: Candy Mountain

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

We got a little scooter! I remember when these were so popular when I was a kid.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

I really like the pink and gold of this angel. I don't know why, it just makes me happy.

LUSH

Candy Mountain Bubble Bar: This smells like bubblegum, like the Snow Fairy Shower Gel.

This is what the website says about it: "Vanilla candy with a twist. You're in for a sweet holiday treat with Candy Mountain! With the delicious cotton candy scent of our popular Rock Star soap and a sparkly pink luster, this bubbler will turn bath time into a warm, magical experience. Pink and pearly white, we've mixed in snowflake luster to add a touch of magic glimmer to the water. Crumble running water and watch as a mountain of fragrant vanilla bubbles rise. We think this is one sweet treat you won't soon forget!"

Blogmas Day 19: Christmas Eve Bubble Bar

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

I like today's gifts. Tiny things! We have a flashlight, backpack, camera, rubber ducky, and an alarm clock.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

It is a cart. I think it might be missing some pieces. Remember I got this on E-Bay.

LUSH

Christmas Eve Bubble Bar: I maybe should have waited for Christmas Eve for this, but I don't care. I think last year I got this, and used it on Christmas Eve. I will wait to use it until then.

The website says this about it: "Moonlight soak. Unwind in mounds of soft, frothy bubbles and the heavenly fragrance of ylang ylang and jasmine absolute. Sink into the warm, blue waters, softened with corn flour, Irish moss powder and baking soda. Little ones love this one too; just crumble one in the tub and let the soothing fragrance calm their excitement and send them off to the land of nod. You'll soon find out why Christmas Eve has become a returning favorite since it first launched a few years ago!"

Review: I just now used this! It is April 2015! The bath bomb has lasted this long. You can break it in half and use it for 2 baths. This smells like lavender, and it is so relaxing. It is perfect for a night time bath to help you get sleepy, and soothe any body aches. You break it under the running tap, and lots of bubbles form.

Blogmas Day 18: Hot Toddy

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

It's a wheelbarrow and a bear.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

In the same color blue is a sled.

LUSH

Hot Toddy Shower Gel: This smells really spicy and good for the winter time.

The website says: "All things spice and everything nice. Ruby red and cinnamon scented, our sparkling Hot Toddy shower gel will transport your senses to the warmest reaches of your mind. Come in from the cold and lather up with a fresh ginger infusion and cinnamon leaf oil mix that will keep you cozy on the chilliest days. It'll even leave a delectable, cinnamon-y scent on your skin that's not overpowering - unlike a certain cinnamon-y, heart-shaped candy...any guesses?"

Blogmas Day 17: Twilight

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

It's another elf.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

We got a lot more birds for the park.

LUSH

Twilight Bath Bomb: I have this in my memory as being my favorite bath bomb. To be honest, I don't remember why.  It looks cool with the stars and moon on it. It smells very herbal/floral. I can pin point what the scent is.

The website says: "Peaceful lavender bathing under the stars. Recreate the magic of a starry night in your bath water with clouds of lavender and tonk a absolute to fight the demons of insomnia and soothe your stressed out body and mind. Our most relaxing Bath Bomb yet, Twilight is our gentle, reassuring hug for the bath to transform you from worn out to warm and fuzzy. It changes color like the sky at dusk, from pinks to purples and darker still. Lay back in the comforting herbal waters to soak your troubles far, far away."

Blogmas Day 16: Father Christmas

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Santa's Workshop

I think these are tools for Santa. Maybe that's Santa's man purse.

Playmobil Advent Calendar: Christmas in the Park

The boy has food to feed the birds and squirrels. He also has a scarf and hat.

LUSH

Father Christmas Bath Bomb: I got this last year, and I liked it. It smells like candy.

This is what the website says: "A colorful surprise inside. If Father Christmas is meant to bring good tidings for the season, this jolly Bath Bomb is the perfect place to start. Pop him into the bath and watch him fizz away and turn the water from a bright red to a vivid green. It's Christmas for the bath! Lie back and savor the moment away from the hustle and bustle of the holidays as Father Christmas' sweet, Snow Fairy scent lifts your spirits and gets you prepared for anything."
