Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

It has been so long since I've watched this movie. It is so good! My mom rented it from Netflix and we had a sort of slumber party watching it. I love these movies from my teenage years that are so heartfelt and have such a great story. I think I got something from it seeing it again as an adult compared to what I loved about it as a teen, but the movie is still amazing. It makes me want to rent other movies like this I used to love back in the 90's. I really related to Naomi Judd's character as a woman who also has mental health issues.

Valerian and the 1000 Planets

This movie was so fun and so cool! I loved it! I felt like it was the perfect summer movie to see in the theaters. I guess it didn't get good reviews, and it didn't get as much viewing as they had anticipated, but I didn't read the reviews. I saw it got sort of an average amount of stars, but I thought I would like it anyway. It had AMAZING graphics! I saw the regular version, not the 3D one. And the story was fun. I love it when there is a strong female lead. This movie is based off of a graphic novel that takes place in the future where they are sort of fighting crime I guess and they are partners relying on each other and doing the right thing. It's sort of a mystery because they don't know what exactly is going on, but we as the audience know more. I feel like I'm doing a terrible job describing this movie. It's a science fiction type with different kinds of aliens. It really appealed to my imagination and I felt like I went soaring off into the galaxy.

Karena + Katrina Beach Waves Sea Salt Texture Spray: This is made by the Tone It Up girls. They make exercise videos on Youtube. This makes my hair really curly. I just spray a little bit into my hands and scrunch my hair. I can't spray it onto my hair or else it will be too much product since my hair is really fine. It smells really good too like coconuts.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer: This is my favorite golden highlighter.

Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter in Light/Iridescent. This is a pretty liquid highlighter that looks really natural on the skin.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer: Here is my little sample of it. I have the original one and it looks like a natural bronze on my skin.

Even though I see all these videos of people trying out different highlighters and bronzers, I feel like I only need my Mary-Lou Manizer and Hoola bronzer.

Covergirl True Naked Goldens Palette: If I want to do a simple eye look this palette is really easy to create a look with. I like the 2nd and 4th color as shimmery lid colors and the 3rd one for the crease. This is also handy for traveling.

Koreas Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Moisturizer: I went to Sephora and asked for recommendations and the woman working in the skin care section gave me a sample of this. The ingredients are very good for you.

Erborian Yuza Sorbet Night Reinforced Nighttime Emulsion: This night cream works so well. I can tell that it helps nourish my skin because it looks better in the morning. It feels good and smells good.

June Favorites

My mom and I rented this a few days ago. It is so good. The music, the acting, the story, the way everything looks. It is a piece of art in my opinion. I really recommend it. I feel like this will be a classic in the future.

I really loved Wonder Woman. I remember when I was really little in the early 80's watching Wonder Woman. For Halloween when I was 3 years old I dressed up as her. This movie inspired me, and made me feel empowered. I know not everyone liked it for different reasons, but I thought it was really beautiful. It also reminded me of my grandpa who fought in WWII. In this movie Wonder Woman fights the nazis and ultimately she fights the god of war, Ares.

These are all my favorite things that I'm currently using that exist in the bathroom.

1. Shampoo and Conditioner by Garner Fructis Full & Plush Paragon-free Fortifying with Pomegranate for fine or flat hair for visibly fuller hair. And it is supposed to make your hair stronger.

2. Skintimate Island Berry Breeze Shave Gel for moisturizing. It has vitamin e and olive butter. I like the way it smells too.

3. Dial Coconut Water. This is a great hydrating body wash that smells like coconut. I use a loofah with it. It is really refreshing to me.

4. Philosophy Purity One-Step Facial Cleanser. It's a nice, simple face wash.

5. Clean & Clear Morning Burst Facial Cleanser. Sometimes I use this it has little scrubby beads in it and cucumber extracts. It is also oil-free. I use my wash cloth to help exfoliate my skin.

6. Freeman Facial Exfoliating Scrub in Pink Grapefruit. It exfoliates, smooths, and renews your face. It smells really good too.

7. Up & Up Eye Makeup Remover Liquid. This is a dupe for Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. I get this at Target. You shake it up and remove your eye makeup gently.

8. Adapalene Gel. I got this from a dermatologist. You just need a little bit to put on pimples.

9. Sensodyne Pronamel Toothpaste. This is a little baby sample from my dentist.

10. Oral-B Satin Floss. I like this floss because it fits between my teeth well.

1. Body Fantasies Signature in Cotton Candy: This is a fragrance body spray you can get at Walgreens. It smells so sweet.

2. Vera Wang Princess: I think I got this from a drugstore like Rite Aid. It has cute packaging it is a glass bottle in the shape of a heart and the lid is a jeweled crown and a ring underneath it. It smells sweet, fruity, vanilla, cacao, and white floral.

3. Viva La Juicy from Juicy Couture: I got this from Sephora. It has a sweet and fruity smell to it too. I like the packaging on it also. I've had these perfumes for a long time.

1. Beauty Secrets Non-Acetone Nail Polish Remover. This is a gentle professional formula that is safe for natural or artificial nails. I got this from Sally's Beauty Store. It works really well and you get a lot.

2. Seche Clear Base Coat. I also got this from Sally's.

3. China Glaze Nail Polish in Flip Flop Fantasy. I currently am wearing this on my fingers and toes. It's a bright almost neon coral polish.

4. Sally Hansen Hard as Nails Xtreme Wear Nail Color in 420 Pacific Blue. This is a regular blue polish that I think looks cool in the summertime.

These are some of the brushes I've been using a lot. (From left to right)

1. Sigma Large Angled Contour F40 Brush. I use this to apply blush. The bristles are soft.

2. Sigma Large Powder F30 Brush. I use this to apply powder all over face.

3. Real Techniques Base Shadow Brush. This is an excellent brush to apply crease eye shadow. I think Stephanie Ledda uses it also in her videos I've noticed her use it.

4. The Balm Give Crease A Chance Brush: This is a two sided brush. The brushes are very large, so they are great for blending stuff out.

5. Elf Small Tapered Brush: I like this for highlighting and you can use it with powder to gently set under eyes. It is inexpensive and a good quality brush that has lasted a long time.

6. Real Techniques Buffing Brush: You can apply foundation with this or powder. These brushes are all good quality and soft on the skin. They have lasted me awhile.

7. Real Techniques Contour Brush: I use this to apply bronzer or I contour with it.

8. Sigma Flat Kabuki F80 Brush: I use this to buff in foundation and concealer. And I also use my fingers if there are any brush strokes. I can make it look more natural.

9. Real Techniques Sponge: I sometimes use this to blend out foundation and concealer. It sort of depends on how I'm feeling. I have had the beauty blender and I feel like this works just as well, and it is an inexpensive alternative.

*I'm not sponsored by any of these brands. I have purchased all this stuff, they were not pr packages sent to me for free.

1. First, I cleanse my hands with a hand sanitizer. This is Magic Mirror OCD Hand Sanitizer from Fortune Cookie.

2. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with aloe, herbs, and rosewater. This is a refreshing spray to put on face before you put on any lotion or makeup. It makes your skin moist, so everything goes on better. This is sold at Ulta now.

3. Dr. Brandt Pores No More. This is a face primer. It minimizes the look of pores, absorbs oil, and mattifies shine. I put this on all the parts of my face that have noticeable pores, and where I don't want it to be shiny.  I got a baby sample from Ulta.

4. Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin. I love this foundation for matching my skin color well, feels good on my type of skin, and it lasts a long time. It covers what I want to be covered, and it is from the drugstore.

5. Wet 'n Wild Photo Focus Concealer. I like this because it feels good under the eye, and it works well. It doesn't everything you want a concealer to do. It was inexpensive, and Wet 'n Wild is cruelty free.

6. Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in 001 Transparent. I have used this powder for a long time. I keep buying the same one. It is a simple, good powder that does it's job. It never makes you look cakey. It is good to set your face with powder because if you use a powder bronzer/blush it will go on better.

These are some of my favorite eye shadows and palettes. I use Milani Eye Shadow Primer as a primer for my lids. You just need a little bit and gently put on with your ring finger to not cause wrinkles. It just needs to be a little bit tacky. This works better for me than the more expensive primers.

1. Lorac Pro Palette: This has 8 mattes and 8 shimmery eye shadows all in nice colors.

2. Too Faced Chocolate Bar: My favorite shades are Salted Caramel, Marzipan, Semi-Sweet, Milk Chocolate, Creme Brûlée, and Champagne Truffle.

3. Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar by Too Faced: My favorite shades in this palette is Peanut Butter and Mousse.

4. Anastasia of Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette. This is a great palette for the warm reds, oranges, golds, and dark browns. My favorite shades are Raw Sienna, Burnt Orange, Vermeer, Primavera, Realgar, and Cyprus Umber. A lot of the names of the eye shadow is based on what was used in the renaissance to make paints for the beautiful renaissance paintings.

5. Stila's Kitten. It's a pretty shimmery color for the lid.

6. L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Amber Rush. This is a pretty coppery/rose gold shade for the lid.

This is one of my favorite songs right now. It's called Hope In Front of Me by Danny Gokey.

Interesting. Another song I loved this song called "I Have This Hope" by Tenth Avenue North.

I hope you liked going through my current favorites. What was your favorite in June? What are you grateful for?

Favorite TV Show

Big Brother: I watched this show when it first was on. It is on Sunday, Wednesday, and Thursday. It reminds me of Survivor. People live in a house with cameras everywhere. They do competitions and make alliances. Whoever is the last one in the house wins a lot of money.

Favorite Song

I Don't Like It, I Love It by Flo Rida ft. Robin Thicke & Verdine White

This month I wasn't really wearing much makeup so I don't have any beauty product to mention.

June Favorites

Favorite TV Show

This last month and this month I've been addicted to Golden Girls. My parents used to watch this when I was little, and I think I watched it with them. It makes me feel that nostalgia feeling when I watch it. It is so funny!

Favorite Beauty Product

Elf Blush in Gotta Glow: This is my only beauty product for June. I didn't wear makeup a lot. This is a pretty natural looking highlight. Elf isn't that expensive, and I think it is a dupe for a lot of popular highlighters.

Favorite Songs

Worth It (feat. Kid Ink) by Fifth Harmony
Hey Mama (feat. Nicki Minaj, Bebe Rexha & Afrojack) by David Guetta

Favorite Movie

Pitch Perfect: I think the sequel to this movie came out this month. I am going to wait until it is able to rent. I saw this movie awhile ago, and I don't remember it being so funny! I also like the music in it. It has a cute story.

Favorite Books

The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks: I have been reading Nicholas Sparks' novels lately. I just saw the movie, and the book is so much better. It has two love stories. An old man tells his story about him and his wife, while you watch the story unfold of a city college art major girl with a cowboy bull riding guy. You don't know how the two stories go together until the end of the book.

Beauty Favorites

I wore this nail combination this month. China Glaze Flip Flop Fantasy on every other nail, then I got Torrid Nail Polish in Neo Green. This reminded me of the summer. I have been ready for summer to start. Torrid is where I get my plus size clothing. They also sell nail polishes. And it was good quality.

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs, and Rose Water: I have been using this spray before I put on makeup to moisturize my face. It smells good, and feels good on my face.

My list is short this month. I hope you had a good month.

March Favorites

TV Shows

Bob's Burgers: This month I figured out how to get Netflix on my computer, so I watched a lot of TV shows and movies. I heard Leighannsays talk about this show on her Youtube channel. She dressed up as Tina for Halloween. This show reminds me of The Simpson's because I think it is funny for children and adults. Also this month I was looking up Myers-Brigg characters, and Tina just happens to be an INFP (which is the same as me), so she has a special place in my heart.

Adventure Time: I heard about this show from Michelle Phan on Youtube. I think she said she was friends with the artists for this show. It is a very bizarre world. The main character is a boy and his sidekick is a shape shifting dog. They go on all kinds of adventures. I thought it was pretty funny and interesting. I like the different personalities, and I don't know what to expect.

The IT Crowd: My mom introduced me to this show I think several years ago, and I thought it was hilarious. It is a show from England. The two guys are nerds who work in the basement in the IT department of their work. The woman is their supervisor, who knows nothing about computers, and quickly becomes their friend. It is pretty silly humor, but I like it and I like the characters.

Boys Over Flowers: This is a Korean Drama. When I first started watching this I thought it was a comedy, but it is does have drama in it. I haven't watched all of the episodes yet. It is about a girl who was just delivering laundry to someone at a wealthy school. He was being bullied, and she rescued him from jumping off the roof (not everything in this show is entirely believable). The news captured it, and the school looked bad because of the bullying, so they invited her to attend this private school for rich kids. The four guys are in this very elite clique. The girl stood up to the boy that was doing the bullying, and then he started to bother her. I don't know why, but I am addicted to this show! I think I like the girl because I relate to her being awkward, and wanting to stand up for what is right. And the guys are very cute too!

Favorite Movies

Ju-On The Grudge: This movie is one of the scariest movies I have ever seen! I saw this first in the theater. This was before the American version came out, so I didn't know the story at all. I didn't know what to expect. It is based on the idea that when someone is killed in a very bad way, there is a curse that happens. So this family is killed, and anyone who enters this house where it happens is marked with a curse. It is like a haunted house, and there are ghosts.

Favorite Beauty Products

Pantene Pro V Volumizing Shampoo for Fine Hair: I used to use this a long time ago, but someone told me that Pantene products are very bad for the hair. I don't know if that is true because my mom has always used Pantene and she has beautiful hair. I like this shampoo because it does give volume.

Eva NYC Up All Night Volumizing Spray: This gives volume and is a heat protectant. You spray this on your hair when you get out of the shower. I like how it gives volume and is a heat protectant in one bottle. I think I got this in my IPSY bag.

Pur-lisse Pur-delicate Gentle Soy Milk Cleanser and Makeup Remover: This is a nice, light weight facial cleanser. It has a very light, clean smell.

3-in-1 Revolution Light by LeeAnni Eco: I got this in my IPSY Bag too. This is what it says about this on the IPSY website: "Great for normal to oily skin and during warmer weather. Toner, Serum, and Moisturizer in One. This Revolutionary Lotion will save you time during busy morning rush and moisturize your face all day long! Help tighten skin, reduce breakouts, relieve dark circles under eyes, moisturize, fight aging, treat sun damages, and calm irritated skin. Gluten-Free. Natural. Vegan." I have been putting this on after I wash my face. I don't think I would buy the full size, but I am using this up. It feels good on the skin.

Embryolisse Lait-Creme Concentre (24-Hour Miracle Cream): I love this cream for moisturizing my face! I have seen makeup artists use this on Youtube, and I never thought I would get to try it for myself. I don't know if I can go back to any other moisturizer! The only problem is a still need to wear an SPF because this has no SPF in it. I think I got this in my Birchbox.

Vanderpump Rules

Songs

1. Love Me Like You Do - Ellie Goulding
2. Nothin' On You (feat. Bruno Mars) - B. o. B.
3. Centuries - Fall Out Boy
4. Just Say Jesus - 7eventh Time Down
5. Lead Me to the Cross - Chris and Conrad
6. Black or White - Michael Jackson
7. Good to Be Alive - Jason Gray

Beauty Products

1. Fortune Cookie Wonderland Futterwacken Body Wash: I got this in my Fortune Cookie Soap Box for the Spring. The theme this season is Alice In Wonderland. This is described as smelling like, "Sun warmed lilies brightened with a splash of grapefruit and a breath of fresh air." I love the way this smells. It is very refreshing. I guess Futterwacken is the name of the dance the Mad Hatter does in the movie.

2. L'Oreal True Match Lumi Foundation in W1-2 Porcelain/Light: This foundation goes on my dry, winter skin better than the foundation I was using which was Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin. It is more moisturizing.

3. Elf Mineral Face Primer in Tone Adjusting Green: I remember seeing this in someone's video, and I was very interested. It is supposed to be good for covering up red skin, but I didn't see it do anything like that. But it is a good primer. I like the way it feels on my skin.

4. Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette: This is another palette I got at Christmas time. I really like neutrals, and I like the quality of these chocolate bar palettes. Some of the shadows are shimmery and some are matte. I have heard people say this isn't as good as the original chocolate bar palette, but I think it is.

So those are my favorites of the month of February! I hope someone found this helpful in some way. If you want to you can leave a link to your blog with your favorites in the comment section. I hope you have a great month!

My only beauty favorite for the month is the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. I have heard people talk about this palette for a while, but I finally decided to buy it with some of my Christmas money. I love it! The quality of shadows is so good! There are shimmers and mattes. They are mostly neutrals, but there is a gold, maroon, purple, and pink. I've been wearing these shadows all month long.

Favorite Songs

1. Passion - My Heart Is Yours ft. Kristian Stanfill

2. Simon & Garfunkel - April Come She Will

3. Colbie Caillat - Try

December 2014 Favorites

Favorite TV Show

Once Upon A Time: I remember when this tv show first came out, I was excited to watch it, and I watched several episodes, but I got turned off because I felt like it was too over dramatic, too much like a soap opera. Then recently I had watched several youtube videos of people saying their favorite TV show of the month was Once Upon A Time. People were singing it's praises. One girl, I don't remember who said she loved the storyline between Emma and Captain Hook. She thought they made a good couple, and she showed a picture from the show and Captain Hook looked really cute. I decided I should start watching that show again. lol! It is On Demand, and also I found it on Netflix with all the episodes! The beginning of December I started watching from the first episode. I haven't watched all of them yet. I'm still on season 2. The show is still on air, and the new episodes will begin in March, so I have plenty of time to get caught up. I have always loved fairy tales. I love it when people rewrite fairy tales, and put a new spin on them. This show puts a reality element to the stories. It is like a soap opera, but I think it is well written, and has good acting. My favorite character is Emma, which is Snow White's daughter that is supposed to break the curse. You know when you see a character in a movie or TV Show or book, and you want to be that character? Somehow they inspire you? That is what Emma is like for me. She is strong, and can tell if someone is lying. She is not quick to believe in fairy tales. She is one tough cookie!

Favorite Movies

1. The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1: This is the first part of 2 for the last book in The Hunger Games Trilogy. I remember when I read these books, I read them aloud to my mom and we both would be so excited and the endings of each book, we had to hurry and read the next one. The books end on cliff hangers. It has been such a long time since I read these books, that now when the movies come out, I don't remember what will happen so I'm still feeling suspense while watching the movie. This movie actually gave me chills because it was so moving to me. This is around the same time that the protesting was going on in New York about the man that got choked by the police officer. I felt like this movie correlated with that somehow. I guess just that people were standing up for what they believed in. The ending was so surprising to me! I won't say what happened, I'll just say that it made me jump! I think the movie should have ended then to make it a good cliff hanger.

2. Sleeping Beauty: This movie was available On Demand, and my mom wanted to watch it with me. This was one of my favorite movies as a child. It had been awhile since I've seen it. I love the three fairies! I like the part when they bake the cake, make her dress, and clean the house with magic. I also like the Tchaikovsky Sleeping Beauty music. I think it is so cool they took the ballet and put words to it. I think this is a romantic, beautiful tale. I think you should be careful what age you allow a child to see this movie! Malificent is pretty scary! I remember this movie was like my first horror show as a child. It was nice seeing this movie again. I love watching TV shows and movies with my mom.

Favorite Songs

1. Lorde - Yellow Flicker Beat
2. Ariana Grande - Santa Tell Me
3. Ariana Grande - Love Me Harder
4. Meghan Trainor - All About That Base
5. A Charlie Brown Christmas - Christmas Time Is Here
6. Christina Aguilera - This Christmas
7. Demi Lovato - Wonderful Christmas Time
8. Celine Dion - Oh Holy Night

Favorite Nail Polishes

1. Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Holiday Rebel: These are red and green glitters. I wore it over a black polish, Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Inkwell. It is just a festive kind of polish for Christmas time.

2. OPI Nail Laquer in I Snow You Love Me: I think I got this last year. I think it was in the Mariah Carey collection. They are huge glitters. It reminds me of a big snowflake. I wore this over a light blue nail polish, Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Cinderella. It was a nice winter nail look.

Beauty Favorites

1. Too Faced Beauty Wishes & Sweet Kisses: Too Faced every year comes out with the coolest makeup palettes at Christmas time. This year I decided to get most of them. I didn't get the Carousel or the lipsticks. This palette has three eyeshadows from the popular Chocolate Bar Palette. It smells like chocolate! They are really good quality eyeshadows. It also comes with the Chocolate Soleil bronzer, which I have already mentioned in a monthly favorites. I think it is a good bronzer to contour with because it is matte and several tones darker than my skin color. It is very pigmented. It also comes with the Snow Bunny bronzer, which has shimmer and is a pretty highlight. Then it comes with a lip gloss. Each of these things are sold separately, so if you are like me and don't have any of these things, you will like it.

2. Too Faced Sugar & Spice Palette: This has the same gold glitter and the inside is like the other palettes. This is a great neutral palette. It has good quality eyeshadows. I really didn't need another neutral palette, but I knew this would have good quality eyeshadows in it.  The 2nd row, 3rd color is a dupe for MAC's Woodwinked.

3. Too Faced Everything Nice Palette: Again, this has great quality eyeshadows. It has a pink and a peach blush, the Chocolate Soleil bronzer, and a highlight. There are three brushes. I don't like the big brush. I don't find much use for it. The two little brushes are good. Underneath the brushes is a book that gives you some look ideas. I like the design on the front. I think I will get a lot of use from these palettes.

4. Elf Hydrating Under Eye Primer: I find that Elf products are either a hit or miss. Sometimes I find jewels. This is a jewel! It is great to have something to hydrate under the eyes and make the concealer go on smoothly without creasing. I like the ingredients it has too. It has Vitamins C & E, Shea, Green Tea, Aloe, and Ginko Biloba to nourish and condition the skin. It is supposed to reduce the appearance of fine lines, puffiness, and wrinkles. I think this does work!

I hope you had a good Christmas and New Year or whatever holiday it is you celebrate. It is good to have a fresh start that the new year brings. May God richly bless you!
