Elf Ariel Treasure Within Beauty Book!
I got so excited when I found out Elf was coming out with The Little Mermaid palette! I think that might mean they will have other princesses! I love the packaging. I actually have a t-shirt with the same drawing on it of Ariel.
It comes with directions to make two different looks. I will write down what it says and say how I liked it. I also found two other looks on Youtube using this palette that I will include.
It comes with 9 eye shadows, 2 bronzers, a pink lip gloss, and a eye shadow brush. I will tell you in the tutorials how I like the different makeup. Some of it I liked and some of it wasn't very pigmented. There was a little face brush it came with in the middle, but I threw it away.
There are other products you can get in this collection. There are lip products, brushes, eyeshadows, lashes, and a bronzer. I read a review that said the bronzer was good. They said it was like the It Cosmetics CC Radiance Ombre Bronzer. It describes it as a dark bronzy matte tan with a splash of golden beige shimmer, a golden bronze hue, skin is lit from within glow, and it is radiant. It is just a cheap bronzer from Walgreens, but it sounded like a great product! I'm not disappointed in it at all. I really recommend it. This is called Elf Disney Ariel Bronzed Beauty in Surf's Up. I also am a sucker for the packaging. I hope they come out with other princesses!
1. On the Beach
Step 1: To create a look that will keep you looking beautifully be achy all day long, apply a light eyeshadow color like "Sand Dollar" to the brow bone. Also dab into the inner corner of the eye to create a divine highlight.
Step 2: Blend a mid-toned eyeshadow color like "Coral Reef" onto the eyelid from lash line to crease to help define the eye.
Step 3: Apply a dark eyeshadow color like "Tropical Wave" to the outer 1/3 of the eyelid and crease blending as you go and building the color gradually to contour.
Step 4: Blend the bronzer color "Conch Shell" onto the apples of the cheeks for a flush of color.
Step 5: To finish off your look, apply the "Go On and Kiss The Girl" lip color to complete your fun in the sun look.
My Thoughts: I first started the look with eye shadow primer, but the shadows barely showed up. So I tried it again later with NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk and put it all over my eye space. This helped a lot! Sand Dollar is too much like the color of my skin, so it didn't show up. Coral Reef is really light too. I had to pack it on my lid, but the white base really helped the color show up. Tropical Wave has good pigmentation on the white base. I just used a little bit of it at a time. Conch Shell is a pretty bronzer, and it is very pigmented. I put some on the back of my hand before putting on my cheeks. The lip gloss is a cute pink creamy color. Overall, the look was sweet.
2. Sunset Cruise
Step 1: To create a look that will keep you looking royal apply a light eyeshadow color like "Seaweed" to the brow bone and inner corner of the eye to highlight.
Step 2: Blend a mid-toned eyeshadow color like "Seashell" onto the eyelid from lash line to crease to define the eye.
Step 3: Apply a deeper eyeshadow color like "Brilliant Sea" to the outer 1/3 of the eyelid and crease, blending as you go and building the color gradually. Blend a thin line along the bottom lash line to create a deep smoky eye.
Step 4: Apply the bronzer color "Tan Lines" on the areas of the face where the sun would naturally hit for a subtle wash of color. Or dampen a brush and blend in for a more vibrant effect. Build color for desired look.
Step 5: To finish off your look, apply the "Go On and Kiss the Girl" lip color to complete your romantic look.
My Thoughts: This look is more fashionable, like a runway show. It is fun to play with the colors. I don't think it is daytime appropriate. Seaweed is not a light eyeshadow. It is a pigmented green, and it looks funny when you use it to highlight. Other than that I think the look is pretty. Seashell is a pigmented purple, which is really cool because it is hard to find a pigmented purple in the drugstore. Brilliant Sea blends perfectly over Seashell, and it is pigmented as well. Tan Lines is another good bronzer. I put it everywhere I get freckles because I know that is where the sun hits: the cheeks, across my nose, forehead, and chin. It looks like a natural tan.

o. It looks like she has a pink blush on. I wore Physicians Formula Happy Booster in Natural
My Thoughts: I put on eye shadow primer and then NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk on the lower lash line and from the lashes to the brow. The Sand Dollar was a pretty inner highlight. For Shore is a beautiful bronze color. North Star is a shimmery gray color. Siren Song is a beautiful terra-cotta orange. I can't see Coral Reef at all. I think Brilliant Sea is a really pretty blue for the lower lash line and so is Tropical Wave. I think the blues on the lower lash line made me like this look. Using both bronzers didn't look bad or fake on me. The pink blush on the cheeks and lips is pretty. I didn't know if I would like this look, but when I was all finished I ended up liking it. The colors can be layered, which is interesting.

j. Elf Contouring Blush and Bronzer in St. Lucia, she used the blush
k. Sand Dollar, top of cheekbones
l. Lip Gloss from palette
My Thoughts: I really like this look. This is my favorite of all the looks. Sand Dollar isn't very pigmented on me. It just blends into my skin, but it does work as a subtle highlight. I just used Milani Eye Shadow Primer on my eyes and lower lash line, and the shadows showed up nicely. Seashell, For Shore, and Seaweed are all really pretty colors and pigmented. They all go nicely together. Tan Lines is a good bronzer for contouring because it is matte.
I really recommend this book! I think it has a lot of great summer colors.

Summer Lovin' Tag!
This is a new tag created by Fleur DeForce https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-tn9lC38V5c. I first saw Tati do the tag https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DRWhaPCwslk. It looked like a fun tag, and I think these are helpful. So lets get started!
1. Summer lipstick you're loving?
I looked through all my favorite summer looks for this year and there was a tie between three different lip products.
Bonnebell Lip Lites in Grapefruit: I love this lip gloss. It smells like grapefruit too! This is a bright coral pink.
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Peach Petal: I don't know if they make this anymore. I don't know why they stopped making it. It is a great nudey peach lip gloss. There is no shimmer in it.
Rimmel Moisture Renew in Nude Delight: This is a warm, pinkish, peachy, beige lipstick. It feels good on the lips, and it looks good on me.
2. Summer nail polish you're loving?
Essie Nail Lacquer in Cute As A Button: This is sort of like a red, but it can also look pink. It is a bright summery color. I think I'm going to paint this on my toes next.
3. Bikini you're loving this summer?
I don't have a bikini, but I got this really cute retro swimsuit from Forever 21 plus size.
It covers most of your back, which I think is old-fashioned and very cute.
4. Favorite summer Frappuccino from Starbucks?
I don't like coffee drinks. My favorite drink this summer is water.
5. Favorite fake tan?
I don't do fake tan. It seems kind of complicated to me. I don't want to mess it up. I like my fair skin and freckles.
6. Favorite summer song?
I like Rude by Magic. I think reggae songs are perfect for the summertime. And I like the lyrics to the song too. The song is catchy and gets stuck in my head. I was singing it this morning.
7. Favorite summer accessory?
These are my sunglasses my boyfriend bought me from Big Lots. I get lots of compliments on the sparkles. They sparkle in the sunlight.
8. Favorite summer fragrance/perfume?
Calgon Ahh...Spa! Tropics Conditioning Body Mist. It has nourishing fruit complex with papaya extract. I got this a long time ago. But I still have some left! I love the tropical smell of this. It is a refreshing spray when you are hot.
9. Summer book you're loving?
This is the third book in the Divergent series. It might be the last book. I'm not sure. This has a great story and interesting characters. It is a dystopian novel.
10. What are you most excited to do this summer?
I love going to the beach. I went in June, but I can't wait to get back there. Hopefully, I will get to stay there again this summer.
I also have been enjoying hiking to waterfalls. I am out of shape, but it is so pretty and romantic.
I tag everyone who reads this post to do this tag! If you do it leave a link in the comment section!

Elf Favorites
I find these kinds of blog posts or Youtube videos helpful. Sometimes Elf has sales and it is good to know what people recommend. These are my favorite Elf products. I am not sponsored by Elf, and I purchased all of this makeup with my own money.
1. This is a 100 Eye Shadow Palette by Elf. This isn't available anymore, but they are always selling big palettes like this. If you want to play with different colors, it is good to buy from Elf because it is inexpensive. They go as low as $10.
2. Beauty Clutch: I found this online for $15. It has a drawer that opens up to reveal lipsticks and blushes. This is another example of a little palette that comes with a lot of colors to play around with.
3. Essential 28-Piece Beach Beauty Palette: This cost $6. It comes with a matte and shimmery bronzer, 2 blushes, eyeshadows, and lipsticks. I think the packaging is really cute too. This is great to take if you are traveling.
4. Studio Eye Refresh: This costs $3. Most of the products in the studio line are $3. This is very cooling under the eyes. I bring this with me in my makeup bag, so if I see any creasing under my eye, I can use this to get rid of it and moisturize under my eyes. It says it helps to alleviate under eye puffiness and dark circles. The ingredients are pomegranate, rosemary, green tea, cucumber, and grape.
5. Studio Daily Moisture Stick: This is $6. I keep this in my makeup bag in case I see a dry patch on my face. This instantly moisturizes any dry area. This is good for me in the winter time. It has antioxidants and anti-aging ingredients: grape, cocoa, shea, avocado, macadamia, aloe, and chamomile.
6. Studio Makeup Mist & Set: This costs $3. This is great if you want to wet your brush or if you feel like your makeup looks too powdery you can spray this on your face. It also works as a setting spray to set your makeup. This has great ingredients like aloe, green tea, cucumber and vitamins A, C, and E.
7. Studio Powder Brush: This costs $3. All of these brushes by Elf that I like are very soft and have a lot of bristles. This is excellent for putting powder on.
8. Studio Small Stipple Brush: This costs $3. It is perfect for highlighting or if you just want a light powder of some kind. Like a setting powder under your eyes or a little bit of bronzer.
9. Small Tapered Brush: I can't find this on the website. This is a little brush that is good for applying blush or a highlight.
10. Studio Angled Blush Brush: This is $3. I love this brush for applying blush. Even though they are only $3, they are good quality brushes!
11. Elf Professional Eye Liner Brush: The white brushes are only $1! This is a great soft brush for putting on eye liner.
12. Professional Blending Eye Brush: This is a nice small brush for the crease, and it is fluffy. My eye space is small, so I like the size of this brush. It isn't too big. This is also only $1.
13. Blush in Peachy Keen: The blushes look like NARS packaging. But they are only $3. This is a beautiful peach blush.
14. Blush in Candid Coral: This is another one of my favorite blushes. It is a peachy-coral.
15. Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream in St. Lucia: The blush is a peachy-coral. The bronzer is a dupe for Chanel Bronze Universal.
16. Day 2 Night: I think this was only $1 at Target. The second color is a dupe for Urban Decay Hustle and the fourth shade is a dupe for Urban Decay Sidecar. This has great pigmentation. I have heard people say they don't like the Elf Eyeshadow Quads, but this one is actually really good!
17. Mineral Lipstick in Natural Nymph: This is said to be a dupe for MAC's Myth. It is a beautiful nude lipstick. It is a skin color shade with peachy pink tones. It is also a dupe for MAC's Fleshpot.
18. Hypershine Lip Gloss in Fairy: This is only $1. It is a pearl pink with a mix of lavender color with a luminous sheen to it.
19. Hypershine Lip Gloss in Blossom: This is one of my all time favorite lip glosses! It is a light pink with a hint of peach in it with very fine shimmers. It is in the white packaging so I think it is only $1.
This packaging is copying the Stila Lip Glazes. The one on the left is a Stila Lip Glaze. They have the same brush applicator and the same type of packaging. But the Stila price is a lot higher.
20. Essential Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in Pink Umbrellas: This is the perfect Spring pink without glitter. It is a medium pink with a cream finish. I love the way these sticks feel on the lips. It is $2.
21. Essential Jumbo Lip Gloss Stick in Movie Star: This is a cool toned red. It looks like you ate a bunch of cherries. I like to wear this when I'm going for a pin-up look with red lips. They are $2.
I hope someone finds this helpful!
