Burgundy Eye with a Wing

My look for tonight was inspired by a video on the Chanel channel on Youtube. A look created in 2014 by Lisa Eldridge.

I copied the look using eye shadows I already have in my collection that were similar to the Chanel shadows. I made another tutorial for youtube showing what I did on my face if you want to check it out. 

Here are the steps I was following to get the same look...

1. Chanel Hesitation #106, lid: Wet 'n Wild Knock on Wood, eyelid color. A warm burgundy with a pearl finish

2. Chanel Pulsion #112, outer corner, lower lash line: Stila Improvise from In The Moment Palette. A deep neutral plum with a satin finish.

3. Chanel Exultation #108, center of lid. Urban Decay Spectrum Palette in Backlash. A cool fuchsia with a matte finish.

4. Chanel Admiration #114, inner corner. The Balm Balm Voyage Palette in D1. A warm yellow with a pearl finish.

5. Chanel Sensation #102, under brow. Urban Decay Mariposa Palette in Skimp. A warm beige with a satin finish.

Pretty Green Look ~Inspired by Jaclyn Hill

Today I copied a look by Jaclyn Hill. I don't have the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette. I just used what eyeshadows I already had. I love Temptalia's blog because she has swatches of the colors, describes them, and lists a bunch of dupes for each shade in case you already own them. To do this look I had all the colors except for the orange yellow color. I tried to mix a red and yellow to make one, but it didn't look right. I think if I were to do this look again I would just use Too Faced's Peanut Butter in the crease and not worry about the Creamsicle color.

Duping Too Faced Just Peachy Palette ~Get Ready With Me!

For this look I copied what Emilynoel83 did. I don't have the same products she was reviewing, so I used makeup I already own. So get out your peachy, oranges, browns, and red violets and let's copy her look! 9. Nude Matte Lip, light nude in center of bottom lip. I used Wet 'n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit in 921B Nudist Peach and then in the center of the bottom lip I used Maybelline Color Sensational Matte Lipstick in 915 Blushing Beige.

12. Too Faced Just Peachy Velvet Matte Eye Shadow Palette in Peach Tea, crease. I used Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette in Peanut Butter. Light-medium orange/brown matte color.

13. She used Peach Butter and a little dab of Just Peachy under her brow. I used a good under brow color for me which is a really, really light off white color. Her colors were a light beige mixed with a  tiny bit of peach.

14. Peach Punch, center of the lid. This is a vibrant medium-dark pink-coral with warm undertones. I had to try different shadows to find this color. I could have mixed a pink with an orange. I didn't think about it when I was doing this look. But I think my eye look still ended up looking good even though it wasn't quite the same color as she used.

15. Just Peachy, inner 1/3 of the lid. This is a bright medium coral-orange. I used Milani Bella Eye Shadow in Mandarin.

16. Peach Sangria, outer 1/3 of lid and a little bit in the outer crease. I used Anastasia of Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow in Love Letter.

17. Blend everything out.

18. Peach Tart, outer crease and outer portion outside of the lid. This is a warm dark brown matte color. I used Shadow Box from the Kat Von D Monarch Palette.

19. Peach Cobbler on lower lash line. This is a medium-dark burnt orange matte color. I used Wrath from the Kat Von D Monarch Palette.

20. Peach Tart, outer edge of lower lash line.

21. Liquid Liner upper lash line. I used the dark brown one from Physician's Formula.

22. Lashes. My favorite mascara currently is L'Oreal Paradise.

Coppery Fire Eyes Inspired by Kathleen Lights

So this look is based on the look Kathleen did for this chatty get ready with me using new makeup, including the new palette by Marc Jacobs Scandalust. I used my own shadows to mimic this palette. These are the steps Kathleen and I took to create this look. I'll show you what I did and a little of what she did. I love her personality, and enjoyed this video as well. She says how she is not a makeup artist, and I know she is not a professional but she is an artist in her own way, so I will call her a makeup artist.

1. Face Primer

2. Foundation

3. Concealer

4. Powder

5. Bronzer. She used a glory one. I payed close attention to how she bronzed up her skin. I want to make it look natural on me. I made sure to blend it out.

6. Blush. She used a couple products. I've been loving the Flower Pots Powder Blush in PB2 Peach Primrose. You can get Flower Beauty makeup at Walmart. I think this is a pretty summery color and looks good on my coloring.

7. The warm brown crease shade she used I found the dupe on Temptalia's website that I own which is in the Too Faced Semi Sweet Palette in Mousse. I put this in my crease and blended it onto the lid and outer v. She called this the transition shade.

8. Next she took the color Little Miss and put it on the outer lid, so I put a little bit of this and blended it inwards so that eventually the outer 1/3 of my lid had this dark shade on it. The dupe I found on Temptalia's blog was Sexy from The Balm Nude'tude Palette.

9. On the lid she put a red, fiery, copper metallic shade. I found in my own collection that Milani Bella Copper is really close and a drugstore dupe! I used my finger to apply the color. I put it all over my lid, but it didn't cover up the Sexy color that was on there.

10. She went back in with the shade similar to Mousse in the crease to blend out the lid and so you can see the crease when your eye is open. At least that's what I did because I have slightly hooded eyes, I wanted it to be a little above the crease.

11. She went back and intensified the reddish/copper shade, but I found that I didn't need to. It was already looking really pigmented.

12. She also went and added more of the Little Miss shade, but I didn't feel like I needed too because it was already looking pretty intense on my eye.

13. She put the Mousse color on her lower lash line.

14. Next she took the cranberry color on her lower lashes. I have an old Wet 'n Wild Palette called Petal Pusher that has a cranberry color that I used.

15. Very close to the lashes and kept on the outer corners she put Little Miss.

16. Next, she highlighted under the brows. You can do this if you want to. I went for it and took a light shimmery champagne color and put it under, but then I blended it out underneath the color. I used Too Faced Sugar & Spice in Champagne Truffle.

17. Mascara

18. I used the Champagne Truffle on my tear ducts.

19. She took a dark color and put a lip gloss on top to tone it down. I don't have the same shades, but I didn't want those colors. I wanted something that matched me and my eyes and my coloring, so I found a dark lip liner that I liked and put a peachy lip gloss on top of it and it went with the rest of my face.

Summer's Day Look Inspired by Eman

I love Eman! She is a professional makeup artist. This is just an everyday type of look. She was sponsored by Laura Mercier, so all the products are that brand. I am just using my own stuff, but I created this pretty look I wore today doing every day type of stuff in sunny, hot, summer weather.

5. Contour face, the 3 e method is like you make a 3 motion from forehead and temples, to cheeks, to under jaw and same on other side. She also put the matte bronzer on crease of eye and lower lash line.

6. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Moonlight on her eye lid. I used a warm brown eye shadow with frost finish on the lid. A dupe I found from the Christmas limited edition palette Too Faced Everything Nice in the color After Hours. It isn't exactly the same because she used a stick/cream and I used a shadow.

7. Laura Mercier Caviar Stick in Cocoa on the base of the upper lashes, blending it in and smudging it out with a small angle brush. I used a small angle brush and put Sable from the Lorac Pro Palette against my upper lashes. It is a warm, dark brown color with a satin finish.

8. Mascara

9. Laura Mercier in Embrace Lipstick and Opal Lip Gloss. This lip look reminded me of Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle, so that is how I copied. I also like the way it feels on my lips.

10. Highlighter on top of cheekbones, nose, above eyebrow, and I used the Eco Tools Fan Brush.

Daytime Glam Peachy/Pink Look Inspired by Rachel Leary

I am copying the look she did using the stuff I already own, and not going out to buy exactly all the new stuff she is using. It is similar to her look, but without the fake lashes and looks a little more natural and appropriate for a summer's day.

1. She used an oil popular on instagram. I like to use this spray by Mario Badescu with rose water, herbs, and aloe. You can find it at Ulta. It is inexpensive. Then I put on an SPF lotion for the face.

2. She used a Too Faced primer spray. It looks really cool actually! I might want to get that for my birthday. I am using Dr. Brandt's Pores No More Primer. Just use whatever primer works for you.

3. She used a really thick foundation. I used my regular foundation I always use, Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin. I like to blend it out using my Sigma F80 Brush.

4. She used a couple of concealers by Benefit. I don't have big problems under my eyes. I just have a little bit of places to cover up and I use Wet 'n Wild Photo Focus Concealer. I like to use an Echo Tools brush to buff out the concealer. It is more precise.

5. She used a loose powder by Too Faced. I might like that. I'm not sure. I have been using for so long a powder by Rimmel that is really inexpensive. I think it works ok. It never makes me look cakey or anything. It is Rimmel's Stay Matte Powder in Translucent.

6. She put on Fix Plus by Mac and did her eyebrows. I don't have a setting spray and I only have been brushing my eyebrows. I like my eyebrows the way they are, and I don't feel like I need to do anything with them other than groom them.

7. She put on a matte bronzer. I like to use Benefit's Hoola Bronzer. I don't put it on my neck because I feel like that would look funny on me. I don't use fake tan, so I am really pale. I just put a little bit on places that the sun would naturally hit, so it looks like a real tan on my face.

8. For a glowy bronzer she used one by Rimmel and I did too. Mine is Rimmel Natural Bronzer in 021 Sun Light. It is waterproof too. I put it on with a bigger powder blush on places the sun would hit. I also made sure to blend everything out so no harsh lines.

9. She used a pink blush to match the pink that would be on the eyes. She layered it over where she put the bronzer on the cheeks like at an angle and she blended it out with her sponge on the edges. I used Wet 'n Wild Pearlescent Pink - this isn't a dupe for the blush she used, but it was the pinky shade I was looking for.

10. Highlighter. I just used the highlighter I like to use. I use it on the parts of my face that don't have too much texture. Above my eyebrows, forehead, temples, cheekbones, down the nose and tip, cupid's bow. Not on the chin because that looks too greasy I think.

11. So for her eyes she used the new palette by Makeup Geek In the Nude a collab. with makeup artist/youtuber Manny MUA. I used Temptalia's website to help me figure out what the colors were, and if I had any dupes of the shadows.

a. She put the colors Buffed and Creased on the outer lid, outer v and crease of the eye with a fluffy crease brush. For me the dupes were Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette in Salted Caramel and Anastasia of Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance in Warm Taupe. I put my brush in both shades and tapped off the excess.

b. Next, she put In the Spotlight on most of her eye except the outer lid where those other shadows were put. It was very pigmented. It looked like she got her brush wet, but she didn't show that part. My dupes for that were Milani Bella Champagne or Kat Von D Monarch Palette in Killing Jar. If you want it to be more pigmented, then wetting brush would be a good idea. I didn't do it, but it still came out looking ok.

c. She next used the color Dark Roast. I have this in a limited edition palette, Too Faced Sugar & Spice in Chocolate Cake. This is a dark warm brown with a matte finish. Put a little bit on the outer lid, outer v, and blend it out with other blending brush.

d. Take a pencil brush using Creased and go along lower lash line, leave the inner lower lash line blank for the inner highlight color we will use later. So I used Warm Taupe from the Modern Renaissance Palette.

e. Rapunzel on inner corner of eye, a little bit on lower lash line and a little bit on top of lid. This shade is cheaper if you were to get the Makeup Geek shadow. It only costs $8 and it is sold separately outside of this palette. My dupe is from a limited edition palette by Sephora Sand in the Glass from the Glass from the Jasmine Disney Palette. It is a warm gold with a frost finish. She actually didn't like it, and used her highlighter instead.

12. Mascara and fake lashes. I just put on mascara. I am happy with my lashes the way they are.

13. Nude lip liner outline lips. Just use the one that matches your natural lip color. Jordana Lip Liner in Tawny is the one I used.

14. She put on different lip products that looked really cool when she was done. I used Wet 'n Wild Megalast Liquid Catsuit in 921 B Nudist Peach. I let that dry, and then applied Bare Minerals Buxom Lip Gloss in Katie.

I like Rachel Leary's makeup looks. I think she is really cool, and is an artist. This helps me to write out while I'm watching a video and preparing to create my own look. I post this on my blog because maybe it will help someone out there as well for when they do their makeup. I hope you are having a good summer and are staying cool.

I'm Back with an Old School Dupe Blog Post!

I've been gone for almost a year! I don't know why, but I started to not want to wear makeup, and I didn't feel so excited about makeup anymore or my blog. That's why I stopped blogging.

Summer Makeup Looks!

These are Summertime makeup looks I have found and tried out. To me summer looks are bright on the lips and maybe a pop of color on the eyes. The cheeks can be bronzy or on the coral side. Some looks are more natural when you don't want to look like you are wearing a lot of makeup. I hope you like these looks as much as I did!

My Thoughts: All the colors go really well together. I never thought to pair the copper color with the burgundy or the copper with the bright coral. I just put the Bombshell blush on all the high points of my face, my cheeks, nose, forehead, and chin.

My Thoughts: I think if you follow what makeup she used, it would be more inexpensive than what I used. I already had these things, so I don't need to go out and buy anything new. I have never seen Annabelle makeup where I live (Oregon). It may be only in Canada. I put the champagne color on the inner half of my lid. I wasn't sure if wetting the brush would work on a Covergirl eye shadow, but it does. It makes the shadow more pigmented. Then I put the metallic taupe color on the outer half. It doesn't make sense to me to put the champagne on the inner 1/3 and then the taupe on the middle 1/3 with nothing on the outer lid. Maybe she put the matte taupe color on the outer 1/3 of the lid. I like coral colors on me, and it is a pretty springtime color.
