Winter/Holiday Makeup Looks

Here are some looks I found and recreated using my own makeup. If I write about it, that means I liked the look. I just combined winter with holiday because they go together. Usually, the holiday looks are a little more glamorous, so you might not want to wear it for the day time. It might be better for a holiday party at night. I'm going to try to wear it in the day.

My Thoughts: I think this look is very glamorous. It is very dramatic on the eyes. The eye shadow on the lid is pretty natural, but the black gel liner with the wing and the gold glitter reminds me of Cleopatra. I think the fuchsia on the lower lash line is different, but very pretty. The rest of the face (other then the golden highlight) is natural. The lips are a glossy nude. This is a look to go out in at night.

My Thoughts: I found a review of this palette on a blog, and they happened to have the card that showed the day time and night time look to go with the palette. This is the day time look. The eyes are neutral on top, but the gold in the inner corner and the aqua on the lower lash line give it a pop of color for the summer. I wore Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, and for lips I wore NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel.

My Thoughts: The eyes are a shimmery gold on the lid. There is taupe in the crease. I put on Urban Decay's Subversion Lash Primer, and that really does an amazing job of priming your lashes. My lashes look so full and long. The lips are a pinkish nude. The blush is a natural flush. I don't like to look too glowing in the summer because then I feel like I just look oily. I like to be glowy in certain spots of my face.

Summer Makeup 2014 Part 5!

Wow! I can't believe I am on the 5th part of the summer series! That is good. I love summer looks. I think summer is my favorite season. My favorite season for makeup is fall though because I have fall coloring. These are my favorite summer looks that I have found watching Youtube videos. I copy the look using my own makeup. My Thoughts: I didn't go to Disneyland. I wanted to wear makeup that would be nice for a hot, summer's day. This was really pretty! I like the eyeshadow combination. It is pretty natural on the eyes, except for black liquid liner on the upper lash line with a wing. The cheeks were light pink. And the lips are like a cherry popsicle stain.

Fall Makeup Looks Part 5

I was thinking about taking a picture of myself for each makeup look because someone told me it was more interesting with pictures, but when I have my picture taken with my camera it is too far away and you can't really see the makeup. Also, even if the picture was good quality, I feel uncomfortable having my picture on my blog. I think it's because I have low self esteem. Maybe I don't feel pretty enough to do it. I wish that I had a picture for every makeup look. I know that would make it more interesting. I guess the visual will have to be the link to the actual tutorials if you want a visual of how the makeup looks on someone and how to apply it. I try to do the look without watching the video, but sometimes I watch it because I know the person will have a certain way of doing the makeup and it helps me to watch them do it. My Thoughts: The eyes are a dark taupe, and the lips are a glossy nude. There is no blush, which I think looks a little weird on me because I'm so pale. I put Pretty Peach Blush on by Covergirl. She did the look with berry lips, but when I watched the video for some reason I didn't like the berry lips, so I went with the nude option she gave.

My Thoughts: I wouldn't say there was bronze on the eye. I think Chopper is more of a copper, but some leaves change to that color. There is green from the liner and Moss. The yellow is under the eye, so she has a lot of the fall colors represented on the eyes, but you don't look like a clown. The cheeks and lips as you can guess by the names are peach. This is a really pretty look. I heard the Jordana Eyeshadow Pencils and the Milani Shadow Pencils are very similar. I originally got the Milani ones because I heard they were dupes of the Urban Decay Shadow Pencils. Then Jordana came out with them, which was even cheaper!

My Thoughts: The Celestial lip lacquer is really pretty. It looks like my lips but better. The eyes are a smokey bronze and purple look like the title says. The cheeks and lips are mauve. I think it's a look that would look good on a lot of different kinds of faces. I don't remember why I skipped the Covergirl lipstick. I just thought it unnecessary or I didn't like the way it looked.

Fall Makeup Looks Part 2

I love the fall makeup looks because I think the looks of this season go best with my coloring. Have you ever heard of being color matched to a season? I was matched to fall. This was a thing that was popular in the 80's, and my mom did a workshop on it. She always dressed me in fall colors even though in the 80's those weren't popular colors. My Thoughts: This has fall colors all over the face. The eyes are coppery, the face is bronzed, and the lips are a glossy nude. The eyes really stand out. I think Cheryl is a good makeup artist. I just recently found her blog, and then saw that she made videos. I'm really loving her videos. She seems really humble and sweet. She is pregnant. She is absolutely gorgeous.

My Thoughts: This is a really pretty fall look. The eyes are a smoky taupe. The cheeks are a bronzed rose color, perfect for cold months. The lips are a glossy nude, so the eyes are the focus. I think I like it best when the eyes are the focus. When I'm not wearing much eye shadow I feel like I look tired, and also it is out of my comfort zone to wear bold lips.

d. Keep flipping the brush back and forth with each color until you get a really nice blended gradient look.
e. She did the same effect to the lower lash line.
f. Apply the emerald green shade in the crease, and blend it out well with a fluffy blending brush.
g. Use the off white in the inner corners of eyes and browbone as a highlight.

My Thoughts: I like the colors in this quad because they are jewel tones and I heard that that is "in" this fall. It looks dramatic, but it is pretty. For blush I'm wearing Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso because I think the peach looks pretty with the purple eye makeup. For lips I'm wearing Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pango Peach to go with the blush, and it is a gloss so it doesn't take away from the dramatic eye look.

My Thoughts: I should have known better because this isn't the first time I used this eyeshadow, but when using w/w vanity 3rd color, be very careful because it is very pigmented. I put too much on. The eyes are pretty neutral. The blush is one of my favorite peachy pink colors. The lips are a beautiful color for the fall and winter time. The sugar plum lip butter is one of my favorite lip products.

Back to School Looks

Honestly, I'm not too happy about going back to school. I work at an elementary school. I don't really like changes. It takes me awhile to get used to my new schedule and everything. It reminds me of when I was a student. I feel really shy. This year I've been trained to give a statewide assessment to kindergarteners! It is the first thing they will experience. It is supposed to test what they learned in preschool. Even though not everyone went to preschool, we will still test everyone. Hopefully, the end result will be the areas of the state that didn't test well, will have funding to go for preschools in those areas. I'm nervous about testing and doing a good job. Also, other people are nervous about coming back so I find people are not always on their best behavior, adults and children.

I like this time of year for the back to school makeup looks. They are usually the type of look I like: easy, natural, and pretty. I still have a lot of looks from last year that I never did. These looks are all from 2012, but if they look good I don't think it matters. I don't think they are very trendy looks, they are just looks suitable for going back to school. My face routine is usually face primer, foundation, concealer, and powder. I wear this no matter what the look says. For example, sometimes it will say BB Cream, but I won't be using that because my skin has been oily these last few months. Also, I like to have more coverage than a BB Cream or tinted moisturizer. Sometimes people don't put on any powder, like if they have dry skin. I like to set my face with powder because of being oily and I want my makeup to last for a long time.

Sometimes people will wear false eye lashes. I don't do this step. Also, people will do their eyebrows. I don't include this in the look because I don't do my eyebrows other than brush them and put clear gel on them to keep them in place. I have dark eyebrows, and I don't feel like I need to put eyebrow pencil or shadow on them. I feel like it's up to the individual whatever they choose to do. Some people need to do their eyebrows and some look better leaving them natural, in my opinion. I try to keep them waxed and groomed.

Also, I wash and moisturize my face before putting on makeup.

My Thoughts: The eyes are gold and neutral. My cheeks are peachy pink and my lips are a glossy nude. I like this look. It's really simple.

My Thoughts: I think I like this look the best. It goes from darkest color to lightest color on the eyes, a gradiant effect.
