Pretty Makeup Looks

In between Back to School Looks and Fall Makeup Looks, I might find some time to do my "Pretty Makeup Looks" Series. These are the looks that don't fit into any category other then I like them and call them pretty. I use my own makeup to do the looks. I have too much makeup, so I don't need to go and run out and buy more makeup. You can do the looks too if you have a product similar to the makeup artist or my makeup. I also like doing these looks because I learn about applying makeup, and I think I express myself artistically. It is fun!

1. Get Ready with Me Day-to-Day! by beauty crush https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7W2LUgYWvgU
a. Face Primer
b. Foundation
c. Concealer
d. Powder
e. Cream Bronzer, under cheekbones, top of forehead, bottom of chin: Elf Contouring Cream Blush & Bronzer in St. Lucia
f. Brows
g. MAC Paint Pot in Indian Wood: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Bad to the Bronze
h. Black Liquid Liner, upper lash line, wing
i. Inglot Shimmery Nude, inner corner: Stila Kitten
j. Mascara
k. Charlotte Tilbury Beach Stick, she doesn't say which one: Elf Contouring Cream Blush & Bronzer in St. Lucia
l. Charlotte Tilburry Lipstick in Hot Sienna: Maybelline Color Sensational in Coral Carnation
My Thoughts: I think this is a nice, everyday, wearable look. She uses a lot of cream products, which I have heard look more natural on the skin.

2. 3 Looks Using the Vegas Lights Palette by Makeup Geek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVGMnbscfNQ

Look 1
a. MAC Painterly Paint Pot, lashes to brow: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond
b. Makeup Geek Vegas Lights Palette, Mirage, lid: Wet 'n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Photo OP Eyeshadow in Newport Nights, top left color
c. Roulette, outer v, slightly in the outer crease: Wet 'n Wild Knock on Wood, eyelid color
d. Desert Sands, slightly above Roulette and into the crease: Elf Beauty Clutch, 2nd row, 3rd color
e. Makeup Geek Eye Shadow in Vanilla Bean, under brow: 4th shade in Wet 'n Wild Lust Palette
f. Bada Bing, outer v, outer half of lower lash line: Wet 'n Wild Naked Truth, Definer shade
g. Casino, inner half of lower lash line: LA Colors Eye Shadows in Sunflower, left color
h. Black Gel Liner, use an eye pencil, tight line, outer half of waterline
i. Black Gel Liner, upper lash line, wing
j. Estee Lauder Lipstick #130 Intense Nude: Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude 065
My Thoughts: Makeup Geek has a unique way of doing eye shadow looks. It might help to watch the video as you are putting on the makeup. The eyes are neutral with black gel liner. The lips are my lips but better color. She doesn't say what blush she is wearing. For blush I wanted something neutral, so I chose to wear Rimmel Lasting Finish in 002 Mauve Cool. Don't forget to wear mascara!

Look 2
a. MAC Painterly Paint Pot, lashes to brow: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eyeshadow Pencil in Continuous Almond
b. Brown Eye Liner, upper lash line, make it thicker as you go to the edge of the eye
c. Smudge it out.
d. Roulette, lid, go on top of liner: Wet 'n Wild Knock on Wood, eyelid color
e. Desert Sands, crease: Elf Beauty Clutch, 2nd row, 3rd color
f. Mirage, under browbone: Wet 'n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Photo OP Eyeshadow in Newport Nights, top left
g. Casino, inner corner: LA Colors Eye Shadows in Sunflower, left color
h. Bada Bing, upper lash line on top of brown eye liner: Wet 'n Wild Naked Truth, Definer shade
i. Brown Eye Liner, outer half of lower lash line
j. Black Gel Liner, use an eye pencil, tight line, outer half of waterline
k. Estee Lauder Lipstick in #120 Desirable: Revlon Pink Pout
My Thoughts: This is a cranberry, gold look with black gel eye liner. It reminds me of a smoky eye for the fall. The lips are a nudey pink. She doesn't say what blush to use, but again I used Rimmel Lasting Finish in 002 Mauve Cool.

Look 3
a. Casino, inner corner, upper lash line, see video: LA Colors Eye Shadows in Sunflower, left color
b. Tape sides of eye.
c. Bada Bing, go against tape, don't go past the crease, upper lash line: Wet 'n Wild Naked Truth, Definer shade
d. Roulette, outer part of the crease: Wet 'n Wild Knock on Wood, eyelid color
e. Mirage, above Roulette to blend it out: Wet 'n Wild Fergie Centerstage Collection Photo OP Eyeshadow in Newport Nights, top left
f. Makeup Geek Pigment in Nightlife, center of lid, blend into the gold and the brown: L'Oreal Infallible Eye Shadow in Amber Rush
g. Bada Bing, sweep it inwards a little bit
h. Black Gel Liner, upper lash line, wing
i. Take off tape.
j. Nude Eye Liner, waterline
k. NARS Lipstick in Liv, use a brush: Milani Cabernet Blend
My Thoughts: I'm still working on doing the wing liner. It isn't even, which drives me crazy. She said this is a fall look. It looks like fall to me with cranberry lips and fall colored eyes. It is a brand new way for me to do my eyes. It is pretty cool. You should watch the video as you do this look. I'm going to use Mauve Cool again as my blush.

Summer Makeup 2014 Part 6

I want this summer to last forever. I keep finding summer makeup looks I want to try out. This is the most amount of tutorials I think I have found in a season. It's funny because summer when it is hot, is not really the time you want to be wearing makeup. You feel as though it will just sweat off your face. I think summer has inspired a lot of looks, and when there is air conditioning you can still have fun with your makeup.

1. Get Ready With Me: Summer Wedding by Carli Bybel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT_3OEMa9nQ
a. Face Primer
b. Foundation, sponge
c. Cream Contour, sides of nose, hollows of cheeks, hairline, under jaw: Elf Contouring Blush & Bronzing Cream in St. Lucia
d. Brows
e. Sigma Persuade Eye Shadow Base: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eye Shadow Pencil in Continuous Almond
f. MAC Pigment in Melon, inner half of lid: Elf Baked Eye Shadow in Enchanted, spray brush with water
g. Elf Baked Eye Shadow in Pixie, spray brush with water, outer half of lid
h. BH Forever Nude Palette, top right color, crease: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 2nd color
i. Same Palette, bottom right color, outer v: Wet 'n Wild Baked Not Fried, top left color
j. Black Gel Liner, upper lash line, wing
k. NYX Liquid Crystal Liner in Crystal Gold, above black liner: LA Splash Liquid Eyeliner in Golden Abalone
l. Mascara, upper lashes
m. MAC Pigment in Fuchsia, lower lash line: Wet 'n Wild Shimmer the Night Away, 6th shade
n. MAC Pigment in Pink Opal, lower lash line: Disney Ariel Storylook Eye Shadow Palette in Treasures Untold
o. Concealer, sponge
p. Powder
q. Mascara, lower lashes
r. MAC Whisper of Gilt, top of cheekbones, nose, cupid's bow: The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer
s. NYX Baked Blush in Full-On-Femme: Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Pink Rose
t. MAC Lip Liner in Oak: Boots No.7 Lip Liner in Nude
u. Dose of Colors Lipstick in Soft Touch: NYX Round Lipstick in Orange Soda
v. Whitening Lightning Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss in Nude: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural
My Thoughts: I think this look is very glamorous. It is very dramatic on the eyes. The eye shadow on the lid is pretty natural, but the black gel liner with the wing and the gold glitter reminds me of Cleopatra. I think the fuchsia on the lower lash line is different, but very pretty. The rest of the face (other then the golden highlight) is natural. The lips are a glossy nude. This is a look to go out in at night.

2. Get Ready With Me Theme Park Makeup + Outfits! by ThatsHeart https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSyqPp1zJAY
a. Moisturizer
b. Eye Cream, wait a few minutes before moving on to the next step
c. Foundation, sponge
d. Concealer, sponge
e. Powder
f. Contour, jawline, cheeks, hairline
g. Forever 21 Blush: Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Natural
h. Brows
i. Black Liquid Liner, upper lash line, wing
j. Mascara
k. Whitening Lightning Color Your Smile Lighted Gloss in Rose Hill: Bare Minerals 100% Natural Lip Gloss in Cassis
l. Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray: NYX Matte Finish Long Lasting Setting Spray
My Thoughts: I like it because it doesn't look like I'm wearing any makeup. I look naturally pretty.

3. Keep Calm Festival Look Chatty Tutorial by beautycrush https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNjX6eDVHyQ
a. Foundation
b. Concealer
c. Brows
d. Powder
e. By Terry Ombre Black Star Shadow Stick in Misty Rock, blend out with finger: Maybelline Color Tattoo in Lavish Lavender
f. Mascara
g. MAC Pearl Creme Colour Base, top of cheekbones, nose, cupid's bow: Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl
h. Rimmel Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry: Benefit Benetint
i. Rimmel Keep Calm Lip Balm in Keep Calm & Rock: Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in Sweet Pink
My Thoughts: I think this would also be a good look for a hot day at a fair. She said you could also wear this camping in general. The Lavish Lavender brings out my eye color. I also like how everything is budge proof: the Maybelline Color Tattoo and the stains on the cheek and lip.

4. Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Shadow Palette "Golden Days"
a. Toes in the Sand, lid: Wet 'n Wild Who's Carpooling? brow bone shade
b. Espadrilles, crease: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
c. Tropical Sunset, outer corner: Elf Ariel Treasure Within Beauty Book in For Shore
d. Caparinha Cocktails, inner corner, lightly under lash line: Pacifica Solar Complete Mineral Palette in Neptune
e. Ocean View, lower lash line: Pacifica Solar Complete Mineral Palette in Mermaid Aqua
f. Black Eye Liner, top lash line close to lashes
g. Mascara
My Thoughts: I found a review of this palette on a blog, and they happened to have the card that showed the day time and night time look to go with the palette. This is the day time look. The eyes are neutral on top, but the gold in the inner corner and the aqua on the lower lash line give it a pop of color for the summer. I wore Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, and for lips I wore NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel.

5. Summer Glow Complete Makeup Look & First Impressions! by ciaoobelllaxo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Pkl8EyJN9g
a. Moisturizer
b. Eye Cream
c. Primer
d. Concealer, under eye v, eyelids, blemishes
e. CC Cream
f. Powder
g. Benefit Watt's Up, top of cheekbones, above eyebrows, nose, chin, cupid's bow
h. Bronzer
i. Milani Baked Blush in Rose D'Oro
j. Brows
k. Eye Primer
l. Tarte Golden Days and Sultry Nights Summer Eye Shadow Palette, Toes in the Sand, under brow: Wet 'n Wild Who's Carpooling? brow bone color
m. Espadrilles, crease, outer lower lash line: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
n. Caparinha Cocktails, lid, inner corner: Elf Beauty Book Bright Eye Edition: 3rd row, 1st shade
o. Setting Spray
p. White Eye Liner, waterline
q. Mascara
r. Fake Lashes
s. Benefit either Posi, Lolli, or Cha Cha Balm (She doesn't say which one she used.) Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Balm
t. Urban Decay Native Lip Liner: NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink
u. NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie in Pink Bikini: L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinary Lip Color in Nude Ballet
My Thoughts: The eyes are a shimmery gold on the lid. There is taupe in the crease. I put on Urban Decay's Subversion Lash Primer, and that really does an amazing job of priming your lashes. My lashes look so full and long. The lips are a pinkish nude. The blush is a natural flush. I don't like to look too glowing in the summer because then I feel like I just look oily. I like to be glowy in certain spots of my face.

6. My Summer Routine by Kalyn Nicholson https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OfiZNGaOmQ
a. Foundation
b. Concealer
c. Powder
d. Brows
e. Sigma Eye Shadow Base: Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Eye Shadow Pencil in Continuous Almond
f. Wet 'n Wild Comfort Zone, 2nd color, lid
g. Wet 'n Wild Comfort Zone, 1st color, inner corner
h. Mascara
i. Bronzer, under cheekbones, temples, hairline, under jaw, sides of nose
j. NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder: She doesn't say which one she used, but I used Pink Cheek Glow
k. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, top of cheekbones, sides of eyes, nose, middle of forehead, cupid's bow, middle of chin
l. EOS Lip Balm
m. Annabelle Twist Up in Absolute, line and fill in lips: Maybelline Color Elixir in Radiant Bloom
My Thoughts: This is a really simple look. I like it because she used products I already have. This feels like a classic summer look. It doesn't look like you are wearing a lot of makeup. The eyelid color in The Comfort Zone palette is a beautiful rose gold color. Pink Cheek Glow is a really pretty, natural pink blush. I should use this blush more often. NYC is inexpensive.

u. a little of MAC Sushi Kiss Lipstick: Rimmel Show Off Lip Laquer in Luna
v. NYX Butter Gloss in Fortune Cookie: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural
w. NYX Butter Gloss in Creme Brûlée
My Thoughts: She combined colors a lot I noticed, mixing eye shadows, blush and 4 different lip products! This look uses a lot of makeup, but it looks pretty. You can see the peach color on the eyes, cheeks, and lips.

8. My Go-To, Everyday Bronze Look + Mascara Tips! by MakeupByAlli https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3IhTze0Vi1U
a. Makeup Geek Creme Brûlée, crease: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 2nd color

My Thoughts: She says this is her go to summer look. The eyes are bronze, the cheeks are a natural pink, and the lips are a bright pink color. This is a cute summertime look.

Winter Looks 2014

I love pictures of snow. I hope it snows this year! I don't like to drive in the snow, but it is pretty to look at. A lot of the winter looks are inspired by snowy/cold weather. I think the autumn looks are more suited for my coloring, but it is fun to try something new and change your look with the season. I've noticed a lot of grey, blue, and white on the eyes. The lips are usually red. I hope you like the looks I picked out to dupe. I only mention the looks that I personally liked, and thought looked good on me. I know just because a look looks good on me, doesn't mean it will look good on you, but I consider myself the guinea pig to trying the looks. I only have myself to work with. Some of the looks I found are old, meaning they were created at least one year ago or more.

These are the products I used often. I didn't mention them in the looks themselves because I feel like these are things that you use what you have. You don't have to use what they used or what I use. If you want recommendations, you can look at what I like to use, that's why I include them here.

Concealer: Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer in Ivory, Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in Brightener

Bronzer: Maybelline Dream Sun Bronzing Powder in Matte Light
Eye Shadow Primer: Milani Eyeshadow Primer
Mascara: Benefit Bad Gal Lash (top lashes), Maybelline Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Waterproof in Very Black (bottom lashes)
Black Liquid Liner: Jordana Incolor Fabuliner Liquid Eye Liner in Black
Face Primer: Benefit Porefessional Primer
Foundation: Revlon Colorstay Foundation for Normal/Dry Skin in Ivory
Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent, Elf High Definition Powder in Corrective Yellow
Lip Balm: Maybelline Baby Lips in Quenched
Black Eye Liner: Benefit Bad Gal Waterproof Eye Liner in Black, Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Black
Nude Eye Liner: Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Eyeliner in Nude
White Eye Liner: NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk
Eyebrows: Milani Brow Fix Brow Kit in Light
Black Gel Eye Liner: Essence Gel Liner in Midnight in Paris

These are 10 looks I found on Youtube that I recreated and wanted to share with you. I thought these were pretty, winter looks. I list first what they used, then where they put it on their face, and then I say what I used to duplicate the look. Often if they use high end, I will use an inexpensive alternative. I'm using what I already have in my makeup collection. You can use something similar in your collection. If there is nothing listed, it means I am using the same product the Youtuber is using or it means I've already said what I used to dupe the makeup, and I don't want to repeat myself. I hope it isn't confusing. At the end of the look I say my overall opinion of the look, I try to describe what it looks like, and my experience creating the look.

My Thoughts: This looks like a winter look because of the silver eyes and the red lips. I don't know why she took the video down. I was going to watch it to see how she did the outer v, but the video was unavailable. That is why I didn't include the link for the video.

h. Blend it out
i. Black Eye Liner top lash line, blend it out

My Thoughts: The eyes look like a smokey dark purple, the cheeks and lips are pink. I think this looks like a pretty wintertime makeup. At first I didn't think it looked right on me, but I finished putting on the makeup, and the look came together in the end. It is very cool toned.

4. GRWM & OOTN: Natural at Winter Night by cosmeticcouturier http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ozgaw1ct0cc

j. Tarte Maracuja Airbrush Blush in Shimmering Peach: Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Peach Satin
k. Illamasqua Lipstick in Climax: Revlon Colorburst in Soft Rose
My Thoughts: Don't forget mascara! If you missed out on the Wet 'n Wild Vanity, Too Faced Natural at Night could be a dupe for it. You would get 6 other colors besides the three in the Vanity palette, and a dupe for Stila's Kitten. I like this look because it suits my warm coloring. Some people say the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes aren't very pigmented, but the one I have works fine. Maybe it's because I'm so pale. The Soft Rose lipstick is perfect for my lips. It's a MLBB color (my lips but better). GRWM stands for get ready with me and OOTN stands for outfit of the night. She wore this for a night out, but I think it also works for daytime.

j. MAC Lipstick in Please Me: Revlon Pink Pout
k. Top Shop Lip Cream in Daze: Bonnebell Lip Lites in Strawberry Parfait
My Thoughts: She didn't say what blush she was wearing, if she was wearing blush. I'm going to match the cheeks to the lips with pink. I'm using Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Pink. I find I need to wear blush. I look too pale without it. The look is really elegant.

I love the lip liner in Bark. It is a MLBB lip liner. I think the mauve lip gloss looks pretty next to the navy blue eyes. This is a different look for me to wear, but I like it.

Summer Makeup Looks Part II

These are a bunch of looks I've found on Youtube that I've recreated and have liked this summer. If you want to see part 1 it is under my June blogs. I just say where I found the look and any products I used to substitute for makeup the original person used. Also, I don't include foundation, concealer, primer, mascara, brows, bronzer, powder, gel liner, liquid liner, or lip balm. I just figure we all use our own stuff anyway, unless we are looking to purchase something new and we want to try out what someone on youtube is using. I hope this is helpful. I know there are a lot of summer looks out there and it's nice to know the ones that end up looking nice.

1. My Everyday Summer Makeup Tutorial by beautycrush http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RyKpFjYKFpo

g. Inner Corner Highlight: Milani Illuminating Face Powder in Beauty's Touch
h. Blush: Milani Baked Blush in Dolce Pink
i. Highlighter: Wet 'n Wild Reserve Your Cabana
j. Lip Gloss: Elf Hypershine Lip Gloss in Blossom
My Thoughts: There were some steps I would skip. After she put the gold on her lower lash line and set it with a shadow, I would skip what she did up to when she highlighted her inner eye corners.

e. Blush: Bare Minerals Blush in Kiss
f. Highlight: Hard Candy So Baked Bronzer in tiki
My Thoughts: I need to be careful when putting concealer on my lids because there are areas where I have a weird eye reaction. I don't know if it is because my eyes are really dry in some spots. I found that my Garnier Skin Renew Anti-Dark Circle Roller Concealer worked best on my lids. Maybe because it had more moisture than my other concealer. I like this look. It looks natural and pretty.

Tag: 10 Little Secrets

I first saw this tag on beautycrush's YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vuLa-49mXas She was the one who made it up. I'm so glad it has caught on and I've seen it several times around YouTube. I thought it looked like a fun tag to do so I'm doing it, and all of those who read this are tagged to do this too!

1. What is one product that makes you feel like a million dollars? To be honest I can't think of one. I don't normally feel like a million dollars I'm sad to say. I wish there was a product that did that for me.

2. What is your skincare secret? / A passed down skin care tip I love my skin care routine I'm doing right now. It has made all my acne go away. This is what I do.

Morning: I wash my face with a benzoyl peroxide cleanser. I use Clean & Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser. Then I use Clindamycin Phosphate Topical Lotion prescribed by my dermatologist.  I clean off eye makeup with Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover. For moisturizer I use Aveeno Smart Essentials Daily Nourishing Moisturizer with vitamins A,C, & E SPF 30.

Evening: I wash my face with a salicylic acid cleanser. I use Neutrogena Oil-Free Acne Wash. Then I use Differin Gel. I clean my eye makeup with the same as in the morning. For moisturizer I use CeraVe moisturizing cream.

3. Share your hair care secret? My hair is frizzy and the product the best eliminates the frizzes for me has been Got2b Glossy Anti-Frizz Shine Serum.

4. What is your biggest diet rule? I have been on and off diets these last years in my 20's and 30's. At the moment I've been very bad with my diet. I know what I ought to do, but I don't necessarily do it. I know the best thing to do is to drink water instead of pop. Pop has all that sugar in it. You are just drinking calories. And I like water so it isn't like it's a torturous rule for me to follow. Also, pop doesn't really hydrate you like only water can. It is filled with sugar and sodium.

5. Any workout tips? I have worked out on and off through the years, just like dieting. At the moment I've been very lazy. I know what works for me is when I do something that is fun. It could be walking on a treadmill listening to my favorite music, doing a dancing video or just dancing to music, also I like to take walks on beautiful days. Do something you enjoy.

6. Which perfume is your secret weapon? I don't know if you have seen my perfume blog. I'll link it here: http://beautydiversion.blogspot.com/2012/01/my-perfume-collection.html I have a ton of little perfume samples. Some I got through Birchbox, some I got because I bought collections at Sephora and Rite Aid. I love them all. They all have their own unique scent, and I honestly can't choose a favorite. I'm trying to use them all. I alternate perfumes. I can't pick one that is my secret weapon.

7. Show us a clothing item of yours which always turns heads. I don't know of anything I have that actually makes people turn their head. I don't wear anything outlandish or glamorous. I did get compliments from this top. It looks like it's two pieces, but the black sweater over the checkered shirt is actually sewn in. I got it from Fred Meyers I think.

8. What is your most treasured piece of jewelry? My Grandma passed away almost a year ago and right before she did she gave me this necklace. My mom gave it to her when I was little. I don't know how old I was, maybe 2 years old. So it is a picture of me, but I love it because it was my Grandma's and it reminds me of how much she loved me.

9. Who is your style crush? I am not really into fashion. I think I'm just recently getting into it because of YouTube. A lot of the people who make makeup tutorials also do style videos and fashion hauls. I'm starting to like watching those. I don't think I have a style crush. I just pick out clothes that I like, that aren't expensive, and that I feel like I need in my wardrobe.

10. Tell us something we don't know about you. I played the violin for years, and I got really good too. I had music scholarships to college.

I hope some of you do the tag! ^_^
