Makeup Looks for Fall

Today is the first day of Autumn so I decided to start wearing my fall looks. The weather doesn't seem like fall in Oregon. It is really hot. It feels like summer, but I'm going to pretend it is fall. It seems like this year the trend is a real dark lip, which I'm not really excited about. I don't know if I'm brave enough to wear it. I think I will find a way to tone it down. If you want to wear it darker, than just put more of the lipstick on, but I will put on a light layer of it.

My Thoughts: The lip liner I used was lighter than what she used. I like my lip liner better. I love the lipstick I used. I also powdered my skin because it will get shiny if I don't. This is a pretty all matte look.

My Thoughts: This look is very dramatic. I would say this is an evening look. The eyes are dramatic with the wing, and the lips are a dark cranberry. I think it is pretty.

My Thoughts: I don't like the black gel liner on the bottom lash line, so I skipped that part. She doesn't say what she has on the cheeks and the lips, but it is natural and doesn't compete with the eye look. I'm going to wear Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Nude Attitude and NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural. The blush I used is Revlon Naughty Nude.

My Thoughts: This is a really pretty look. I have been doing the winged eye liner using tape, and that makes it so much easier for me. Maybelline Caramel Infused is a really pretty lip color. It already is glossy, so I didn't put anything on top of it.

My Thoughts: I don't know who Millie Mackintosh is, but Chanelette is so beautiful. She says this is her go to look. It looks light on the eyes with black liquid liner and a little wing. The face has bronzer all over it, with a peachy pink golden blush. I love Candid Coral. I think it is beautiful, and it is supposed to be a close dupe to NARS Deep Throat. Watt's Up is a pretty luminous champagne cream highlighter that looks very natural. The lip liner is a "my lips but better" color, and it is very inexpensive at Walgreens. we don't have the Maybelline lip gloss she used in the states. I think my dupe was pretty close. The lip gloss is a pretty peachy pink. It is also very inexpensive. Overall, this is a pretty, natural, summertime look. Also, the bronzer Wet 'n Wild Bikini Contest is a good dupe for NARS Laguna.

I think this look will last long because the eyes are 24 hour wear, the cheeks are a stain and the lips are a stain. It's good for a hot day I think.

Pretty Makeup Looks Spring/Summer 2014

Here are some more pretty makeup looks. My Thoughts: The palette is using mainly the Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette. These are the colors I have to dupe the palette. I might do a separate blog post on duping the whole palette. The eyes are brown, the cheeks are hot pink so you should use a stippling brush, and the lips are a glossy nude. I don't know how much I like the lower lash line. I made sure to put mascara on the bottom lashes because the lashes were nuded out with the nude liquid liner. It is a pretty warm look if you have warm undertones in your skin.

My Thoughts: I got done doing the look and I thought it looked a little funny, so I decided to go back and watch the tutorial. Sure enough my eyes looked different from her's, so I cleaned off the crease color and just added the coral lightly to the crease, peaking out a bit to look more like here's. You might want to watch the video as you do the tutorial, so you will look more like her. She looks beautiful. The lipstick is a dead on dupe in my opinion. Also, I did a blog post on duping the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders because these are much less expensive alternatives, and I think the results are quite good. Overall, this is pretty coral and mint look. Coral and mint look good together and remind me of the spring or summer. At the end I added powder to my face because she looked more matte than me. Maybe if you have oily skin you should put powder on first before applying the highlighters.

My Thoughts: I think she did an excellent job explaining how and why to contour your face. It was really helpful to me. If I would do it again I would use Maybelline's Baby Skin on my pores first because the highlight by my nose really showed my pores. Or you could use Benefit's Porefessional.

Summer 2014 Makeup Favorites!

I'm so happy for summer to be here! I love when the weather gets nicer. In Oregon that means less rain! I have done other blog posts for favorite summer makeup looks if you want to find some more in addition to these looks, look under the tag summer or summer makeup. My Thoughts: I like this look. It reminds me of the beach. The colors used are like the colors seen at the beach. This is all using cruelty free makeup. It looks natural. After watching her video, I ordered the Pacifica products from their website. It shipped really nicely. I like this palette and the lip products. I didn't know this but Pacifica is made in Portland, OR (where I live)!

But this can be good for the summer too. This is an example of a look using color, yet it is wearable. I love panacea's personality. She seems so sweet.

Stila Best of Kitten Set Looks

I found this in the sale section of Sephora's website during the holiday season. I got it for $29, and it has an $82 value. I love Stila's Kitten eye shadow, and I found myself wearing this anytime I was trying to throw a look together. This kit comes with the Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid in Kitten, Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Angel Fish, the Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten, and Stila's Lip Glaze in Kitten. It also comes with a really pretty makeup bag.

I wanted to find more looks using Stila's Kitten Eye Shadow and the other items that came in the bag. I just found looks for the eye shadow and the shimmer liquid. These are the looks I liked.

My Thoughts: I love the colors in this look. The Coralina blush is so pretty! The lip balm isn't very pigmented. I wouldn't rush out to buy it. Just use any lip balm. You can wear this look any time, not just summer. It is beautiful!

Winter Looks 2014

I love pictures of snow. I hope it snows this year! I don't like to drive in the snow, but it is pretty to look at. A lot of the winter looks are inspired by snowy/cold weather. I think the autumn looks are more suited for my coloring, but it is fun to try something new and change your look with the season. I've noticed a lot of grey, blue, and white on the eyes. The lips are usually red. I hope you like the looks I picked out to dupe. I only mention the looks that I personally liked, and thought looked good on me. I know just because a look looks good on me, doesn't mean it will look good on you, but I consider myself the guinea pig to trying the looks. I only have myself to work with. My Thoughts: Don't forget mascara! If you missed out on the Wet 'n Wild Vanity, Too Faced Natural at Night could be a dupe for it. You would get 6 other colors besides the three in the Vanity palette, and a dupe for Stila's Kitten. I like this look because it suits my warm coloring. Some people say the Maybelline Dream Bouncy blushes aren't very pigmented, but the one I have works fine. Maybe it's because I'm so pale. The Soft Rose lipstick is perfect for my lips. It's a MLBB color (my lips but better). GRWM stands for get ready with me and OOTN stands for outfit of the night. She wore this for a night out, but I think it also works for daytime.

My Thoughts: The eyes are blue and smoky with glitter in the middle. The Balm Hot Mama is beautiful! It's my first time using this. It is a peachy pink with golden shimmer. I love the lip liner in Bark. It is a MLBB lip liner. I think the mauve lip gloss looks pretty next to the navy blue eyes. This is a different look for me to wear, but I like it.
