What's In My Purse?

I see a lot of people do this kind of video on Youtube, and I find it interesting. It gives you a chance to snoop into someone else's purse! I thought I would make a blog about my purse. Really, it's a lunch bag, but it looks like a purse.

1. My "purse" or lunch bag I got from Jenny Craig. It keeps everything cold inside. I use it to put my snack for work in it and anything else I might want to bring.

2. My favorite snack is Yoplait Fat Free Yogurts. I love the blueberry flavor.

3. This is my makeup bag. It is small, but it holds everything I need to touch up my makeup during the day. It has a pretty Monet painting on it. I love it.

4. Inside my makeup bag is a compact with pressed powder, concealer, and a lipstick.

5. These are my cough drops. I've been sick this last week. I need to stock up on more cough drops.

6. This is my zip lock bag with a spoon inside I use for my yogurt.

7. This is my little pink purse I keep all my cards in and spare change. It's cute with little pictures of clothing on it. I think I got it at Fred Meyer's a long time ago.

8. These are my breath mints. I got it in one of my Birchbox's. They taste so good. It's a little tin that looks like a leaf. It's called Minteas Resist in Lime Mojito. The mints are shaped like the tin and have a leaf design on them.

9. A green pen

10. An eraser and pencil sharpener. I work at a school so it's always nice to have these handy.

11. This is a little rose ring I got from a nail polish bottle. It was irritating to wear because the rose kept flipping over, so I had to take it off during the day and it's been lost in my purse ever since.

12. My sunglasses. I almost forgot to include these because they were on top of my head when I was taking the pictures! I got these at Walmart.

February Glam Bag

I was so happy to get my Glam Bag in the mail today! I was really hoping for it to come in January, but something must've happened to it. I contacted the company and they gave me a refund for that month. I'm happy the February one did come. In the mail was a shiny package and inside had a cute makeup bag that is hot pink and black hearts all over it. It's not very big, just a normal size makeup bag. This is what I found inside the bag:

1. X Out Shine Control Oil-Free Formula: This is by the makers of Proactive. This seems like something I could use before foundation to mattify my face.

2. Freeman Facial Hydration Mask Goji Berry: It says it hydrates and soothes the skin. It is in a sample container like you can find at the drugstore. I think this is a mask I would try. I've tried Freeman products before and I know that I like them.

3. Ghirardelli Chocolate Squares: Yummy! I love these things. One is milk chocolate and the other is dark chocolate. I've tried these before and I know they're good.

4. NYX Roll On Shimmer in Blue: This is a full size container! It says you can put it on eyes, face, and body. This is the most beautiful Cinderella blue color with shimmer. It really reminds me of Cinderella's dress she wore to the ball in the Disney movie. I don't know if it would look good on me. I normally don't wear blue on my eyes. Maybe for a pop of color under my eye?

5. Nume $100 Gift Certificate: This one is hard for me to believe. As far as I can see this is a $100 gift certificate to a website that sells hair tools. It gives me an ID number on the back and everything. I have to go to the website and see if it is legit.

Overall, I'm happy with my Glam Bag. It seems like a fun thing to get in the mail every month just like Birchbox.

February Birchbox

My Birchbox came early this month! I'm really happy with it.

1. Beauty Blender: This hot pink sponge is a pro favorite that helps your foundation look airbrushed, no Photoshop required. I have heard about this for a long time on Youtube. I'm so glad I finally have one! I need to look up those old videos and see how to use it. I'll use it tomorrow when I put on my foundation.

2. Eye Rock Designer Liner: Stop wrestling with the liquid liner and achieve a perfect cat eye with these single-use stick-on liner strips. It comes with four different styles of liner. I'm curious to try this because I have issues with applying liner. I'm still learning. I want to try this tomorrow too.

3. Jouer Lumanizing Moisture Tint: The votes are in, and this award-winning tinted moisturizer tops the list. It's our daily shortcut to dewy, glowing skin. This is a tiny little size of a thing. I've never tried tinted moisturizer, other than mixing lotion and foundation together. Again I'll have to try this tomorrow. I probably need more coverage, but it has SPF 20 which is always good.

4. Mineralogie Ultimate Cream Concealer: Made with pure minerals, this full-coverage concealer erases under eye circles and blemishes without any caking. Do you notice how much makeup is in this month's Birchbox?! I love it! Again, I can't wait to try this tomorrow when I put on my makeup. There is a lot of concealer in this little jar.

5. Chuao Chocolatier Spicy Maya ChocoPod: Spicy and sweet, these artisanal dark chocolate treats are laced with chile and cayenne pepper. I love chocolate, so that part of it I liked. The spice was a little too spicy for me. I ate it, but it wasn't the kind of thing I would have again.

6. Birchbox Digital Download: Six free tunes from Green River Ordinance, an indie rock band poised to hit the spotlight. I tried the link it gave me, but it didn't work. I'm still trying to figure out how to listen to this.

I hope my Glam Bag will come this month. If it doesn't come, then I will have to unsubscribe from the company.

Face of the Day: xeverygirlx Style

I liked how my makeup turned out today. I followed a video by xeverygirlx: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l-VbwRR8NB0 I will tell you what she did, and then what I did to copy her look. This video is only a tutorial on her eyes. I chose the rest of the products for my face.

Eyes
1. She did her eyebrows. I skipped this because I already have really full eyebrows.

2. She put Urban Decay Primer potion all over her eyes. I used Too Faced Shadow Insurance.

3. She used Foxy from the Naked 2 Palette by Urban Decay and put that under her eyebrows and inner part of her eye using the Sigma 252 brush. I used Wet 'n Wild's Vanity Palette, the top left shade with an Ecotools brush. It's from the Alicia Silverstone collection. It is a really fluffy brush with an angle to it.

4. Underneath the highest part of her brow she put Bootycall from Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette. I used the first shade on the right of Wet 'n Wild's Lust Palette.

5. She took Naked from the Original Naked Palette by Urban Decay on a Sigma 217 brush on her crease. I used the 2nd color on the left of Wet 'n Wild Vanity palette on my Loew-Cornell AMM Mini Mop 1/4 brush.

6. She took Chopper from Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette and put it on her eyelid with the Sigma 239 brush. I used the second color from Milani Runway Eyes Fashion Shadows in 01 Designer Browns with my Elf Professional Eye Shadow Brush.

7. Next, she used Tease from Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette using the fluffy side of the brush that came with the palette. She put this onto her crease. I used Mac Quarry using my fluffy brush from Confidential.

8. She put Busted on her outer corner. My dupe for this is the 2nd color from Elf Brightening Eye Color in Day 2 Night. She went on to blend this out.

9. She put NYX Milk in her inner corner. I have NYX Cottage Cheese that I used. It works just as well. The only difference between the two I think is Cottage Cheese has a shimmer to it, but it is just as white as Milk.

10. She used Aspen Summit Eyeshadow from Sephora. It is a white glittery shade. You can use whatever white shimmery shade you have. I used that color from my Wet 'n Wild Sand Castle 8-Pan Palette. It has been discontinued. She put that shade on top of NYX Milk.

11. After that she used the Urban Decay Glide On 24 Eye Pencil that came in the Naked Palette on her lower lashes. She used Whiskey which is a brown color. I used Stila Eye Pencil in Lionfish that came in my January Birchbox.

12. She put Blackout on an angled brush to her top lashes. She didn't make a wing, she just pressed it to her lash base. I used Wet 'n Wild Greed Palette's matte black shade to do this with my angled brush from EcoTools.

13. Then she put on mascara to her top and bottom lashes.

Face
This is not part of her tutorial this is just what I did.
Primer: Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer
Foundation: Laura Mercier Oil Free Foundation in Blush Ivory
Concealer: Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer
Powder: Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
Blush: Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso

Lips
Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Rosegold

I'm sorry my pictures are blurry. My camera seems to go out of focus the closer it gets to something. I wish I had a better camera.

I hoped you liked my face of the day!

January Favorites

These are my most worn and loved products of the month.

Oh no I forgot one of them! Dang it! Well, here it is by itself...

1. Neutrogena Oil-Free Eye Makeup Remover: I still like the L'Oreal one, but I was curious to try a new one after I ran out of it. This is just as good as the L'Oreal. I forget how much it costs as compared to L'oreal. Let me go look it up...At target the Neutrogena one is $6.49. When I googled the L'Oreal one it came out as $6, so they're both roughly the same in price.

2. Elf Makeup Mist & Set: I spray this on my face to set it after doing my makeup. It has Aloe, Green Tea, Cucumber and Vitamins A, C & E. It's only $3.

3. Elf Brightening Eye Color in Day 2 Night: This has several dupes. The 2nd shade is a dupe from Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette, Busted. The 4th shade is a dupe for Urban Decay's YDK. It is only $1.

4. Maybelline Expert Eyes Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover for Waterproof Eye Makeup: I like to keep this on my makeup table, and use it with a cotton swab to fix any mistakes I make when putting on eyeliner.

5. Essie Luxe Effects Nail Polish in As Gold As It Gets: This is a gold glitter nail polish that you can wear over nail polish or by itself.

6. Essie Nail Polish in Mamba: This is a pretty, nude color nail polish.

7. NYX Bronzer & Blusher Combo in Ibiza: I have been using the bronzer side a lot to contour. It is very light, but I think it suits my skin tone the best of any bronzer I own. I don't use the blush side very much.

8. Mac Eyeshadow in Quarry: This is a dupe for Urban Decay's Naked Palette 2's Tease. It's a nice matte color for the crease.

9. Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer: This does the best job of any concealer I own for covering acne scars.

10. Physicians Formula Happy Booster Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in Natural: This is a pretty pink blush color. It gives a natural looking flush to my cheeks. It smells like violets.

11. Sinful Colors Nail Polish in Bali Mist: This is a beautiful purple nail color. It has a nice shine to it. It's hard for me to describe. Check it out in the store if you have a chance.

12. Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Palette in Pride: This has a dupe in it. The 2nd color on the right is a dupe from Urban Decay's Naked 2 Palette, Verve.

January Birchbox

Yay! It finally came! This has been the longest I've had to wait. I was very pleased with this box. I knew what I would be getting because I watched Youtube Birchbox videos, so I wasn't very surprised. Next month I will try to contain my curiosity to make it more fun for me.

1. Archipelago: Pomegranate Body Soap: Laced with good-for-you pomegranate extracts, this triple-milled soap smells divine and leaves skin feeling clean, not stripped. I will have to try this out the next time I take a shower.

2. Juicy Couture: Juicy's signature fragrance is a blend of sweet floral notes. Sophisticated and feminine. It's perfect for day or night. I just got a sample of perfumes and Viva La Juicy was my favorite, so I got the full size bottle. This is another one of their fragrances. It smells really nice.

3. Origins Checks and Balances Frothy Face Wash: What if your skin has dry patches and oily spots? Alleviate both concerns with this multi-tasking cleaner. I'm already on a strict skin care routine from my dermatologist, so I don't want to try this out. I'm giving this to a friend.

4. Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Lionfish: It's time to put down the black liner. This colorful pigment makes eyes stand out and stays put for hours. I'm so happy to get this! I have heard about this eyeliner. It's brown. This may become a new favorite.

5. Larabar Mini Bar in Cherry Pie: You won't find any artificial fillers in these natural bars: just dried fruits, nuts, and other wholesome ingredients. They're as tasty as they are healthy. I don't like cherry pie, so I'm giving this one away too.

Overall, I'm very satisfied with this Birchbox. I'm still waiting for my Glam Bag to come too!

Too Faced Natural Face Palette Dupes

Yes, I know I'm talking about Too Faced again. You should know by now my obsession with Too Faced products. This is another natural palette, but it is not focusing on eyeshadows. This is all about the face. The face charts and tutorials are all on the Too Faced website. If you would like a good look at the palette and swatches go to this blog: http://www.beautyops.net/2012/01/too-faced-natural-face-palette.html I will tell you about each face chart and my opinions of each. Also, I've included the products I used instead of the Too Faced products. You can use what products you have. A highlighter that works well for me, might not be right for you. Use your own highlighter, bronzer, and cheek colors. This is just a really great tutorial for people who want to learn how to put everything together.

For each look I did my makeup in this order:
1. eye makeup (wait to do the lower lash line)
2. face primer
3. foundation
4. concealer
5. powder
6. tutorial
7. lower lash line of eyes

Cream Blush: tea rose colored cream blush, I used Covergirl & Olay Simply Ageless Sculpting Blush in Plush Peach

Bronzer: light tan color with golden sheen, I used NYX Bronzer & Blusher Combo in Ibiza

Concealer: nude beige, I used Hard Candy Glamoflauge Heavy Duty Concealer

Lumanizer: opalescent cream, I used Elf Shimmering Facial Whip in Lilac Petal.

Powder Blush: frosty pink that's buildable, I used NYX Bronzer & Blusher Combo in Ibiza

Brightener: light neutral highlighter, I used Bare Minerals All-Over Face Color in Flawless Radiance

Day Glow
For the face chart go here: http://www.toofaced.com/c-103-get-the-look.aspx
For the tutorial and a photo of a model go here: http://www.toofaced.com/gtl-1161-day-glow.aspx

1. Begin your application of the concealer under the eye area and in the inner corner of the eyes where you see areas of darkness or discoloration.

2. Next, apply the bronzer across the cheeks, nose, forehead and chin.

3. With your finger take a small amount of luminizer and sweep under the arch of each brow, on the upper cheek bones, cupid's bow of the lip and on the chin.

4. Finally, using your middle finger, press the cream blush onto the apples of the cheeks and blend in a circular motion.

My Thoughts: I used a different blush. This is really pretty. It does give a day glow. I feel like it showed me how to do my face better than how I normally do my face. I don't always know how to use my bronzer. So this look really worked. I'm sure if I used the cream blush that I duped it would look good too. I was just doing two different looks at the same time. I'm glad Too Faced's website came out with a tutorial because the diagram was too confusing for me to follow, that's why I didn't make a blog about this sooner. The diagram is helpful though in seeing where to put the products.

Classic Radiance
For the face chart go here: http://www.toofaced.com/gtl-1153-natural-face-classic-radiance-look.aspx
For the tutorial go here: http://www.toofaced.com/gtl-1162-classic-radiance.aspx

1. Dust the bronzer onto the outer perimeter of the entire face.

2. Using your ring finger, take a small amount of Brightener and apply to the entire under eye area, above the brow arch, tip of the nose and chin.

3. Using your middle finger, press the cream blush onto the apples of the cheeks and blend in a circular motion.

4. To apply the powder blush, take your brush and sweep onto the apples of the cheeks layering over the cream.

My Thoughts: Wait to do the under eye makeup til after you do the Brightener part. I used the cream blush, but a different color for the powder blush. I'm not sure if I even notice my bronzer around the perimeter of my face. I guess that would probably look weird if it was too noticeable. It is very subtle, but it is a pretty look.

Supermodel Sculpt
For the face chart go here: http://www.toofaced.com/gtl-1154-natural-face-supermodel-sculpt-look.aspx
For the tutorial go here: http://www.toofaced.com/gtl-1163-supermodel-sculpt.aspx

1. Begin your application of the concealer under the eye area and around the nose. Next, take the Brightener and apply to center of forehead, under the arch of the brow, under the eye and along the sides of the lower lip and chin.

2. Dust the bronzer onto the perimeter of the forehead, the hollows of the cheek and onto the chin.

3. Use the Luminizer on the outer edges of the under eye and temples, down the length of the nose and on the cupid's bow of the lip.

4. Finish by sweeping the powder blush onto the cheek in an upwards motion towards the hairline.

My Thoughts: This seems to be a combination of the other two face charts. It looks pretty. I don't think I look like a supermodel of course. I wish they had a palette that would make me lose weight and get taller!
