February Birchbox

This is February's Birchbox. I like the flourescent colors. It looks like there are talk bubbles on it. I think that has to do with this month's theme.

I like how Birchbox always has a card saying what the theme is and then on the other side is a description of everything included in the box. I wish the IPSY Bag did that. This is what the card says, "Calling all buddies, pals, partners-in-crime, and BFFs. February may be about a certain romance-focused holiday, but we're just as thrilled to celebrate those people who cheer us on, calm us down, and - most importantly - make us laugh so hard we cry. Here's to friendship, in all its incredible forms!" I like that they are thinking of more than Valentine's Day.

The Balm Cosmetics Read My Lips Lip Gloss in BAM! "Fortified with antioxidant-rich ginseng, this gloss imparts rich color and loads of shine. Sweep onto lips on its own, or layer over lipstick for a custom (and ultra shiny) hue." I like this rosy color. It seems opaque enough to be worn alone.

Paula's Choice Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Liquid Exfoliant: "This leave-on exfoliant wipes away impurities to reveal smooth, even-toned, glowing skin. Once or twice daily, apply to clean skin with a cotton ball or pad." This is a big sample! It has Salicylic Acid and is for all skin types. It says it reduces redness and builds collagen. It unclogs and diminishes enlarged pores. So it looks like you cleanse the skin, then put this on, and then moisturize. I am going to try it out to see how I like it.

Amika Nourishing Mask: "Paraben-free treatment that conditions and repairs with super fruit sea buckthorn berry. Smooth onto lengths and ends of damp hair. Leave 5-10 minutes before rinsing." I still have to try this out.

BeeKind Body Lotion: "Made with honey and organic chamomile, this yummy UK fave sinks in to restore skin. Massage generously into skin." It smells like lemon candy to me. It feels good on the skin. On the back it says, "The honey bee population is in crisis. A portion of the proceeds of this product supports honey bee and sustainable pollination research." I guess that's why it's called "BeeKind".

English Laundry Signature for Her: "Inspired by English gardens, this charmer balances floral and woodsy notes. Apply to pulse points and enjoy the sophisticated bouquet." I love the way this smells!

I still need to try out a lot of these products. It is fun getting something in the mail.

February IPSY Bag

I have been subscribed to IPSY in the past. I decided to subscribe again. It was probably after watching someone's Youtube video about it. It is like the Birchbox. It comes in the mail every month. It is only $10 every month. I was on the wait list for a time. I think this month's bag is very cute.

Eva-nye Up All Night Volumizing Spray: The bottle says, "For added volume and texture. Protects from heat styling. For all hair types." I have used this several times. I don't notice it doing much for my hair.

Luxie 504 Large Angled Brush: I was really happy to get this! I love the rose gold in the handle. This brush is so soft. It will make a nice blush brush.

Model CO Blush Cheek Powder in Peach Bellini: I think this is a pretty blush. It is peach with gold in it. It isn't shimmery. It reminds me of NARS Orgasm Blush.

Cargo Lip Gloss in Anguilla: It is a matte, light pink gloss. I haven't worn it yet, so I don't know if it will look good on me. It seems like it has a nice texture.

ME Eye Accent Pencil in Amethyst: This is a matte purple eye liner. It has a sharpener in the lid. I think this is a good quality eye liner. I haven't worn it yet, but I can tell from the swatch.

Fortune Cookie Soap Box: Wonderland

For the Spring Soap Box the theme is Alice in Wonderland! *-* This box comes quarterly and it is $19.99 a quarter. Right now the box is sold out, but pretty soon the products will be available in the website. The box includes a sample of things that are in the Spring collection.

Futterwacken Body Wash: "Not here! Everyone's watching! Sun warmed lilies brightened with a splash of grapefruit and a breath of fresh air." Futterwacken is the dance the Mad Hatter does in the Alice in Wonderland movie. This smells so good! I can smell the grapefruit and lilies.

It's Only A Dream Whipped Cream: "Welcome to Wonderland, where playing cards come to life and everything is full of nonsense. Calming verbena, lemongrass, calla lily, and citrus blended with leafy greens, ylang-ylang, rosewood, and ozone; with hints of soft musk and roses." It smells like flowers to me. It is a body lotion.

There is always something in the box that goes with the theme or the season, so for the Spring there is a cute little butterfly.

Almost Alice Fortune Cookie Soap: "I'd rather be almost Alice than completely Bob - or Stan for that matter! Fresh green snap peas and juicy pears brighten this bouquet of seer pea flowers, and freesia, sprinkled with ripe berries." This smells like freshness to me.

Twisted Tea Party Bath Tea: "That sounds like my kind of party, as long as you're serving Long Islands! A light, refreshing, green tea with notes of sweet herbs, vanilla bean, cucumber, golden amber, and hints of neroli and geranium, stirred with a bright sprig of spearmint. Directions: Place tea bag directly in a warm bath." It smells like green tea. I have never had a bath tea before! Sounds interesting.

Eat Me Perfume Oil: "I dare you...but not really, your tummy would hurt. Scrumptious yellow cake with a fresh slathering of rich, creamy vanilla frosting, topped with fresh white pineapple slices and garnished with a sprig of blooming cilantro." This smells just like cake and vanilla frosting. It is so sweet! I love it.

We're All Mad Here - OCD: "...which truly explains a lot! Playful mint waters and natural levy green notes perform a masterful balancing act with musky rich cedarwood." OCD is the hand sanitizer. I need to keep this in my coat pocket. This smells like some kind of greenery. It smells fresh.

Who Are You? Incense Cones: "...what exactly are you smoking, vapor? A mysterious mixture of crisp, ripe, pear twisted with tart limes, vanilla orchid, and a dash of raw cane sugar. Directions: Place cone on a non-flammable surface, light tip and let burn for 10 seconds, then extinguish. OR Keep cones in muslin bag and use as a sachet. There are hundreds of ways to use a sachet - GTS! :)" I think I will keep this with my clothes. It smells like pears.

Off With Their Heads! Bath Bomb: "I just love my morning coffee and executions, don't you? Groves of Meyer lemons and succulent oranges mingle with a perfectly manicured garden of wild roses, violets, and star jasmine perfumed with romantic tones of bergamot and Egyptian musk." It smells like flowers to me. It looks like there are flower petals in it.
