Empties Review

These videos I see sometimes on Youtube where people show the products they have used up. The theory is, you will give a good review if you have used up a product. These are my products I have most recently used up or I don't want to use them anymore, I am ready to throw them out.

1. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray: I am still unsure about this product. I have been having problems being oily. I used this product after putting on my makeup, but I didn't see a difference. Recently, I went to Sephora and told them I was needing a primer, a powder, and a setting spray. The girl recommended me getting this spray to use as a primer and a setting spray. I had to order the powder, so I haven't had that to see if the whole idea works. So even though this ran out and I did repurchase this, I don't know if I would recommend it.

2. Herbal Essences Smooth Collection Shampoo: This is one of my all time favorite shampoos. I used it back in high school and they discontinued it. When I saw they brought it back, I was so happy! It has 0% Silicone, but it still lathers. It has an infused blend of rose hips, vitamin e, and jojoba extracts. It smells like roses, and makes your hair smell wonderful. People don't know it is your shampoo, they just think you smell good. I would repurchase this. I recommend it. I also like the conditioner.

3. Covergirl Lash Perfection Mascara: This has gotten old. There is a bad smell to it, so I need to throw it out. This mascara is ok. I wouldn't repurchase it. It didn't impress me that much.

4. L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes: I liked this, but during the summer time especially it's not good for me to be without my waterproof mascara. Sometimes my eyes water, and sometimes I touch my eyes I think which smears the mascara onto my face. It just works best for me to have waterproof mascara. I also can tell my lashes curl better with waterproof mascara.

5. Candles by Victoria Sugar Scrub in Vanilla Bean: I first heard about this on a video by TheBubbleGumPrincess on Youtube. She got a bunch of body products, so I ordered a body scrub, a lip scrub, and a lotion. I liked this scrub, but sometimes the sugar particles would all bunch together and harden and those would be too hard on my skin. I have had other body scrubs that were better, so I'm not going to repurchase this.

6. Dove Go Fresh Revive Body Wash in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena Scent: I really liked this body wash. I got it because I ran out of my Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel, and I wanted to find something to replace it. I think the Prince Charming had pomegranate in it, so I thought this would be a good one to try. I really loved the smell, and it made my skin so soft. I would repurchase this or try it in a different scent because I like to change things up. I recommend this.

7. Glam Glow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment: I got two samples of this when I bought the Macadamia Hair Mask. I was really glad to try this because I heard a lot of talk about it. It smells like coconut. It feels so moisturizing. I like the way it feels. I can't tell a difference after I use it. I won't buy this because it is too expensive for me.

8. Freeman Facial Purifying Paper Mask Star Fruit: This is a sample I got at Walmart. I have only seen this as being able to have one at a time, not a box of masks. I really liked this mask! I would repurchase this. This is what it says on the back about the mask: "This serum-infused paper facial mask with Star Fruit helps calm skin stressed by flare-ups. Lavender and Niachinamide help balance oil production. Tea Tree soothes breakout-stressed skin. Perfect for combination to oily skin."

9. Fortune Cookie Soap Witch, Please! No Good Deed Whipped Cream: I liked the smell at first. But then it smelled too much like maple syrup to me. I don't like that smell on my body. The lotion was good quality and moisturized my skin. I won't repurchase this, but I would purchase a whipped cream again.

10. Fortune Cookie Soap Unicorn Farts Shampoo & Conditioner Bars: I didn't use this all up. I tried to use it, but I like liquid shampoo and conditioner better. It wasn't amazing on my hair enough to use over a liquid. Also, the smell wasn't that wonderful. I would not repurchase this.

11. Fortune Cookie Soap Witch, Please! Flying Monkeys Personal Space: This is a room air freshener. But I can't smell it! It is a very, very light scent. I would not purchase this.

August Favorites

Favorite Movies

1. Lucy: This is an action type of a movie. The beginning was really shocking to me. I didn't know that people were used to transport drugs into other countries. The drugs are put into people's organs! That way they can get through security in the airports. Lucy is an innocent girl who gets kidnapped and they put a new kind of drug into her organs. She is supposed to go to a country in Europe, and do whatever it is they tell her to do, and she will be given back her freedom. What happens is the drug leaks, and the drug causes her to start using more and more of her brain. She turns into a super hero type person. As the movie goes on you see Morgan Freeman's character is a scientist/professor who is studying about how much percent of the brain people use. He says people use only 10% of their brains, so what would happen if they used more? Lucy shows what happens. It is a very exciting movie. And it feels good to see her get revenge on all her enemies.

2. The Giver: I read this book I think a long time ago, maybe in jr. high. I can't remember that well. I read it a second time in graduate school for a children's literature course. This movie is based on an award winning book. At one of the schools I worked at it was required reading for the 6th grade class. I heard this was one of the first dystopian novels, so before The Hunger Games and Divergent, there was The Giver. It takes place in the future, and there is a supposedly perfect society. But there are a lot of secrets to this society, and the main character (the boy) gets to learn the secrets. The more he learns the more he realizes how imperfect his society really is. This is a really good book. I recommend reading the book. I think the actors did a good job in the movie. Jeff Bridges plays The Giver, and Meryl Streep plays the leader of the society. The boy is the main character, and the girl is the love interest.

Beauty Products

1. Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-In-Place Makeup in 1W1 Bone: This is the lightest shade for warm skin coloring. I like this foundation because it has full coverage. I have a lot of acne scars that I want to cover. I have gotten this foundation before, but they changed the formula and when I got it a second time I was mismatched so I didn't like the foundation because it was the wrong color. If you go to the Estee Lauder website, you can get color matched and it will help you find the right foundation for your coloring and what you want. I found the color that was right for me, and then I went to the counter and told them exactly what I wanted. I have an Estee Lauder at my local Nordstrom's.

2. L'Oreal Magic Lumi Highlighter in Fair: I heard about this concealer from Chanelette's Youtube videos. I needed to repurchase an under eye concealer, and instead of getting Maybelline Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting Concealer, I decided to try out the L'Oreal one because Chanelette raved about it so much. I really like it! I like it better than the Maybelline one. It does a good job covering my under eye discoloration, and it blends out nicely.

3. Julie G Nail Color in 9 to 5: This is a bright, neon orange color. This is a pretty color for the summer.

That is all my beauty products I liked for the month! I tried out a lot of products, but there weren't many I could say were my favorite.

Pretty Makeup Looks

These are 10 makeup looks that I have found on Youtube and copied with my own makeup that have turned out to be pretty makeup looks. You can use whatever makeup you own, as long as you know what the color is. I try to match the color up as best I can. It may not be an exact dupe, but the look ends up looking similar in the end. I have so much makeup that I feel like I don't need to go out and buy even more makeup to recreate a look. Sometimes the makeup I use is lower in cost than the one from the original. I call these looks "pretty looks" because they don't fall into another category like "back to school" or "fall makeup looks". I hope you find this helpful! I like to watch these videos because I have learned a lot about how to apply makeup, and I think it brings out an artist in me and I can express myself creatively with makeup.

k. She doesn't say what she is wearing on her cheeks and lips. Her cheeks look peachy and her lips are a glossy peach. I used The Balm Frat Boy and Buxom Lip Gloss in Creamsicle.
My Thoughts: I thought this was a pretty, green eye shadow look. The girl was requested to do a makeup look using MAC's Greensmoke, and this is the look she came up with. The green color in Maybelline Mad for Mauve is a good dupe for MAC's Greensmoke. I like how the peach on the cheeks and lips go with the green shadow.

s. MAC Lipstick in Spirit: L'Oreal Forever Frappe
t. MAC Lipstick in Honey Love in the center: L'Oreal Fairest Nude

f. Same Palette, matte black, touch of black to the very outer most corner of lid and crease: Wet 'n Wild Greed, 3rd color
g. MAC Orb, under brow: Wet 'n Wild Vanity, 1st color
h. False Lashes

l. Mascara on lower lash line
m. NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Milk, inner corner
n. NARS Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight: Bonnebell Lip Lites in Strawberry Parfait
My Thoughts: I didn't wear any blush, bronzer, or highlight. The focus is on the eyes. The eyes are very dramatic because they are smoky and have black liquid liner with a wing, and a turquoise liquid liner on the lower lash line. The lips are a glossy light pink. For some reason the turquoise color reminds me of summer. (It is still summer when I wear this look.)

8. GRWM: Late Summer Edition (ALL DRUGSTORE) by SMLx0 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YzFdasvspck

i. Top row, 4th color, lower lash line
j. Bottom row, 3rd color, inner corner
k. Revlon Colorstay Eye Liner Pencil in Topaz, waterline: NYX Jumbo Pencil in French Fries
l. False Lashes
m. Mascara
n. Covergirl Blush in Soft Mink
o. She doesn't say which lip liner she used. It is a berry, marroon, or cranberry type color. I used Jordana Lip Liner in Cabernet.
p. Wet 'n Wild Lipstick in 907c Mauve Outta Here
q. Rimmel Kate Moss 107 Lipstick: Maybelline Colour Elixir in Intoxicating Spice
My Thoughts: The top row, 4th color is a really pretty bronze, and it is pigmented. The blush color goes with the bronze eyes. It is a warm toned blush, almost like a bronzer. The end result looks like fall to me, but the bronze makes it also look like summer. My lips are glossy because I used the Maybelline Elixir. I think her lips were more matte. I blotted my lips with a tissue, and it makes my lips look matte. This look is good on warm skin and redheads, even though smlx0 is a brunette with tan skin. After I put on the Wet 'n Wild lipstick I noticed how dark the lip liner was compared to the lipstick, so I used a q-tip to blend the lip liner into the lipstick.

w. Dose of Colors in Angelic: Rimmel Show Off Lip Lacquer in Luna
x. Dose of Colors in Soft Touch: NYX Matte Lip Cream in Istanbul
y. Alexa Persico Cosmetics Lip Gloss in Hush: Jordana Lip Out Loud Super Shiny Gloss in #108 TTYL
My Thoughts: I love rose gold. I think that most of the colors used were similar. It created a pretty look in the end, which is all that matters to me. The caramel color I used wasn't very pigmented, so I don't recommend that. I would use a different color next time.

Real Housewives Addiction TAG!

I saw this TAG today on Leighannsays Youtube channel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C_rtv_o3xWs. She created it with her friend and I thought it was so funny and perfect for me because I am obviously addicted to this crazy show. Almost every month I list The Real Housewives as my favorite TV show.

1. Favorite Cast/City?

I think I liked this one the best because there was a lot of drama between Teresa and the woman in the middle (I forget her name). Now Teresa's sister-in-law has been on the show with her family, and I like to watch the dynamics between their two families.

2. Least Favorite Cast/City?

I don't know why I don't watch this one. I think there was even too much drama even for me. I have seen some episodes and reunions that I thought were interesting, but I don't usually watch this one.

3. If you were on the housewives, what would your tagline be? This is a funny question. Mine would be "I don't got time for stupid." lol xD

4. Best Hair and Makeup?

I really like Kyle Richard's hair. It always looks so thick and shiny and long.

I think Lizzie Rovsek has pretty makeup. She looks like Sophia Loren to me.

5. Who's closet would you shop?

There are no plus size housewives, so I wouldn't fit into any of their clothes. I am more of a casual dresser, and most of the housewives dress up too much for my personal taste.

6. Who's house would you want to live in?

I don't think I would want to live in a big house. A lot of their houses seem too fancy for me. They wouldn't feel warm and cozy to me. I have never seen inside one of their homes and thought that I really like their style of decorating or anything. The only thing I like is when someone owns a pool. I wouldn't mind owning a pool.

7. Best looking husband?

I think Mauricio is handsome.

Apollo is handsome too.

8. Who's bad side would you never want to be on?

Teresa has a bad temper! She is the one that flipped the table over one time! And she looks really strong. I think she could beat me up.

9. Who starts the most drama?

Tamra makes things up! She is always lying! I think she does it to make drama on the show. She acts like she is friends with one person, and then goes behind their back and talks bad about them and tries to be friends with someone else. I don't trust her.

10. Who's family do you feel the most sorry for?

I feel sorry for them because it seems as though the husband is going to go to jail, and I just feel sorry for their girls. I don't think they will do well with their dad in jail. I feel bad whenever I see the older daughter cry. I just think it's a sad situation. I feel bad for Teresa, how she feels like she has to hold it together for her family. That family needs counseling.

FCS Fall Soap Box: The Wizard of Oz / Wicked!

Fortune Cookie Soap is an Indie company that makes bath and body products. I heard about it from xsparkage and grav3yardgirl on Youtube. If you get a subscription to the soap box it comes every season and features new products from the website. This summer it had the Candyland theme, and everything smelled like candy. At Winter the theme was The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is one of my favorite movies. It seemed like a really fun box to get.

This is my first box. I was so excited to get it. I went on Facebook to like Fortune Cookie Soap and I caught a glimpse of what the theme would be for this fall. I knew it would be The Wizard of Oz with the picture of the witch's hat, the yellow brick road, and the rainbow! That movie although it traumatized me, was my favorite childhood movie. I have seen it about a million times. So this box was perfect for me. I used a discount code for my first box, so it was only $2! You can go to Youtube and find someone doing a review of the box and often they will have a discount code in the description bar. The box comes with one full size product (which is the fortune cookie soap) and 7 sample sizes. The sample sizes are big, so you can get a lot of uses out of it.

On the top it comes with a card that says, "Witch, Please! Soon you will feel nothing at all, except beautiful wickedness."

You open up the card and it comes with a list of what is in the box with a picture and a description of the smells. At the top it says, "Welcome to Fortune Cookie Soap's 2014 Fall Soap Box! A wicked mashup of an old classic and a current Broadway hit." I have not seen the musical, but I've read the book, and I've looked up the musical online to watch some of the songs. I would love to see it!

On the back of the card is a coupon code for $10 off any purchase you make on the website. I'm not sure if it is only for this theme or for anything on the website.

1. "There's No Place Like Home" Fortune Cookie Soap: Oh my gosh! I love the way this smells! This smells like apple cider to me. Every soap box comes with a full size soap in the shape of a fortune cookie, including a fortune inside! This looks like Dorothy's ruby red slippers. It is glittery and everything. My fortune says, "Too much of a good thing is wonderful." The soap box always has little things inside the box to go with the theme. There are green "worms" filling the box. I think they are green because of the green faced witch. They have little confetti black witches. I found one little Toto dog, you can see under the soap, and I think the circles are supposed to be bubbles that Glinda flies in.

This is what the card says: "Close your eyes and repeat after me...Curled Macintosh apple peels lovingly kissed with a hint of cinnamon, allspice and clove, make this fragrance warm and cozy, just like home - as long as home's not in Kansas! :)"

My Review: This has a ton of red glitter! It is everywhere. I took a bath, and the glitter is all over in the water and my skin. I'm not sure what to think of this. In a way I like it because of course her ruby red shoes would have red glitter shimmering, but at the same time I don't want it on my body. lol! It smells so good. The soap seems so slippery that it will fall off the side of the bathtub. They sell wooden soap dishes, so the soap can sit on it and stay put. I might want to get one of these. It costs $4.99. I know that when the soap gets small you can buy an Exfoliating Soap Saver Bath Accessory. You can still use the soap to the last bit. It costs $4.49. It is a little drawstring bag that you can put the soap inside. The soap costs between $3 and $4. I decided not to use this soap because I don't like the red glitter everywhere. I prefer using a shower gel rather than a soap anyway. And I put the gel into a loofah. But I think for novelty sake it was cool how the soap looked just like Dorothy's slippers.

2. Roy G. Biv OCD Hand Sanitizer: I think it is funny they have a hand sanitizer named OCD. Bunny (grav3yardgirl) didn't know what Roy G. Biv was and if you don't know it is the colors of the rainbow: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet. One of the very famous songs from The Wizard of Oz is "Somewhere Over the Rainbow." I have a friend who never has seen the movie, but they have at least heard that song. One of their hand sanitizers runs a little under $3.

This is what the card says, "A full spectrum of bright citrus notes and florals against a cool fall background. Dusky breezes and bonfires, wind-blown leaves and charred woods brightened by notes of lemon, mandarin, cotton blossom and soft vanilla." I like how they keep the theme going with the season of fall.

My Review: I can smell the lemon in this. It is a very good, refreshing smell. I heard that it is still important to wash your hands, but putting hand sanitizer on afterwards is always good too. My hands also feel soft after using this. That might be my imagination. No it isn't! It is supposed to be moisturizing. The website says, "If you are looking for a moisturizing hand sanitizer...you're in luck!! This stuff is packed with so many moisturizers and vitamins your hands feel like you've treated them with lotion. A portion of the proceeds goes towards supporting the work of the International OCD Foundation, an organization that is very near and dear to our hearts. www.ocfoundation.org." I like how they do the donation, and it is not just a joke to them. My hands do feel like I have put lotion on them. I work at a school, so this will come in handy for me (no pun intended).

3. No Good Deed Whipped Cream: There are four different scents. It says, "Witch one will you get?" It goes on to describe each scent. I think the whipped cream is new because I don't see it on the website. It might be the body butter with a different name.

What the card says: "Good thing there's no punishment for smelling amazing - we like to think of it more as a public service, anyway! Creamy pumpkin puree, ground cinnamon, Vermont maple syrup, rum, french vanilla and caramelized sugar." I think it is playing off of the saying, "No good deed ever goes unpunished." I'm not really sure how that relates to The Wizard of Oz, so it must have to do with the musical.

My Review: This smells just like pumpkin pie. I love it! It is a nice thick cream. I know you can get two different kinds of lotions from FCS, a body lotion which is thinner and a whipped cream. This is like a body butter. It smells so good! It smells like you could eat it. Now I can smell the maple syrup. This is what I think fall smells like. Interesting note...I was so impressed with this smell I gave it to my parents to smell and they didn't know what it smelled like. My mom thought it was frosting, and my Dad could smell the maple syrup after I named the scents. So not everybody will smell the same thing. My initial reaction was it smelled just like pumpkin pie, so that must have been the pumpkin puree. I just took a shower and put this all over. The smell is so good. It really smells like fall to me. I might have to buy the full size of this. It does a good job moisturizing the skin too. I think I will buy the full size of this with my $10 coupon.

4. Swankified Walnut Facial Scrub: The idea of walnuts in a facial scrubs sounds too abrasive to me, so I will have to see how I like this. I wanted to see what "swankified" had to do with The Wizard of Oz or Wicked, so I googled the word and looked it up in the urban dictionary. It is a variant of swanky, trendy, nice, cool, especially: describes places to go. It is from Wicked. "Fiyero: So! What's the most swankified place in town? Glinda: That would be the Ozdust Ballroom. Fiyero: Sounds perfect!"

What the card says: "As we continue to expand our skincare line, we'd like to introduce you to our new daily scrub! We had your face in mind, but feel free to "swankify" all your parts! Bunches of ripe bananas mashed into sweet, sugary cake batter, then topped with walnuts and baked to a golden brown. *see website for ingredient list"

My Review: I can smell the walnuts. I wouldn't use it daily on my face. I think using a scrub daily on the face would be too much. I might use it on my face once a week. According to the card, it sounds like you can use it all over the body. I might try that too. I used it and the smell of walnuts was a little too much for me. I guess I don't like the smell of walnuts. I like to use Freeman's Beautiful Facial Exfoliating Scrub in Pink Grapefruit. That smells good and is invigorating to me. I also liked the Saint Helene's Oatmeal 'n Honey Natural Facial Scrub better than the walnut scrub. Also, I think it might be too harsh on the skin. The beads were quite big. I like the beads to be smaller. I don't think I will use this on my body either because of the smell. I prefer to use Tree Hut's Shea Sugar Scrub in Tropical Mango.

5. Miss Popular Bubble Bath Powder: I was guessing this had to do with Glinda because she rides in bubbles in The Wizard of Oz, but I didn't know how it had to do with "Miss Popular" until Bunny (grav3yardgirl) said it was from Wicked. I looked it up, and it is one of the songs in the musical. Popular from Wicked

What the card says: "As bubbly and sticky sweet as they come, but maybe not quite what you'd expect, with a depth of scent that is both unexpected and enchanting. The most delectable, sweet, honey nectar shamelessly flirting with touches of star anise, star jasmine, sweet orange and blushing violet." This does smell very sweet.

My Review: It is wrapped with a cute pink bow, just like Glinda. It also looks like there is glitter in it. In the bag I can smell the honey and orange. I am guessing you pour some in when the water is running in the bath and it will make bubbles. That is what I did. I poured it all in when the tap was running. It made some bubbles, but not as much as I like. I'm comparing it to a Lush product I think. It didn't turn the water a different color. I didn't notice it being moisturizing, and I also didn't notice the smell. I also used the soap, and that smell was overpowering any other smell. All I could smell was apples and cinnamon, which isn't a bad thing to smell. I wouldn't purchase this.

6. Hair Flip Hair Oil: If you watch the video clip of Popular you can see why this is called "Hair Flip." The card says, "The beauty of what we do here at FCS, is that if we decide we want something new, we just go ahead and make it! *hair flip!* Please give a round of applause for our new custom blend of oils, formulated to nourish and repair dry, damaged hair. 1-2 drops is all you need for ultimate shine without greasy residue. Strands of sweet hazelnut woven throughout rich, buttery vanilla cream."

My Review: It smells like nut with vanilla cream. It reminds me of Argan Oil. I'm not sure if this is for wet hair or dry hair. When I put it through dry hair it makes my hair smell so good! There is no greasy residue. Maybe it is for dry hair. I took a shower today, and I'm going to only put this in my wet hair and see what happens. I put more than 2 drops in my hair because I have a lot of hair. In my hands it smells like kettle corn! Maybe I am smelling the rich, buttery vanilla cream. I don't smell hazelnuts at all, which is good because I don't think I like the smell of nuts. My hair doesn't get frizzy! So it does everything I want a hair oil to do basically. I wouldn't buy the full version because I already have hair oil. I might purchase this depending on the price. This hair oil is magical! :o For the first time with using this oil I straightened my hair, and I only had to straighten a few strands! This oil not only gets rid of my frizz, but it helps to get it straight, at least after I blow dried it. And I don't do any fancy blow drying techniques to get my hair straight, so I attribute all the straightening effects to the oil.

7. Flying Monkeys Personal Space Air Freshener: Some people are more afraid of the flying monkeys from The Wizard of Oz than the Wicked Witch of the West. Personally, I was afraid (and fascinated) by the witch.

What the card says: "Mischief is in the air with this fruity, breezy blend of peach, watermelon, neroli and jasmine with air and aquatic notes. But the real star of this fragrance? Fresh, ripe bananas!"

My Review: I can smell the peaches in this. I have a fan on, so I don't know if that effects the smell taking up the room. It was hard for me to smell it, I think because of the fan blowing the smell away. I sprayed it on a blanket and I could smell it better. This is what the website says about their air fresheners: "Freshen up your space, wherever that might be! Perfect for dorm rooms, shared bathrooms or that annoying stinky family member! Freshens and deodorizes linens, towels and clothing with a unique conditioning agent. Septic tank safe. Environmentally friendly." Now when I smell it I can smell the bananas. This would be nice to spray on pillow cases. I get it! Bananas and monkeys! lol! I sprayed this again in the bathroom, and the scent is very very soft. I'm use to harsher air fresheners. I can barely smell this. I wouldn't purchase the full size.

8. The Shiz Perfume Oil: This is a tiny sample of perfume, but rather than long and skinny it is short and fat, so it probably has the same amount of perfume as a sample I'm familiar with.

What the card says: "Normally you wouldn't want to smell like shiz, but in this case - it's a good thing! What?? It wouldn't be an FCS Soap Box card without an inappropriate remark or two! ;) A woodland hike through damp balsam woods, with top notes of maple leaves blowing through new dawn blossom, laurel and sweet clove."

My Review: This smells very woodsy. I don't think I would want to wear it. It smells good, but not like the kind of perfume I would normally wear. I might give this to my boyfriend.

9. $10 Coupon: What am I going to get with my coupon code? I don't know if this is only during the "launch party" on August 29th, and if I can only choose the newest items. It really depends if I have the whole website to shop on. If I could only choose from the Witch, Please collection I think I want to get Green Is The New Black Whipped Cream if it is not sold out too soon. Out of all the whipped cream descriptions this one sounded the best to me. This is what the card says, "Because orange would have been too obvious! Sweet pumpkin pie filling with the perfect touch of cinnamon, ginger and brown sugar, finished with a generous dollop of fresh whipped cream." Doesn't that sound wonderful?! I really like the Hair Flip Hair Oil. I might have to get that instead or in addition to. Once I decide what I will get I will add it to this section of the post.

Overall, I am very happy to get my soap box! This will be a fun thing to look forward to every season. I love the theme! I also like the funny things the card says. I've watched people on Youtube do reviews of the soap box and it is always funny to hear what the card says. It's not your typical subscription box card.

My First NatureBox

I ordered this monthly subscription box not to long ago, and I am surprised at how fast it came! I chose everything I wanted to get. This is a box full of healthy snacks. The bags are bigger than I thought they would be! One bag contains 5 servings! This is the mission of NatureBox: "At NatureBox, we believe snacking can be part of a well-balanced lifestyle, which is why we deliver a world of carefully sourced and nutrionist-approved foods right to your door. Made from the most wholesome ingredients - with no artificial sweeteners, flavors or colors - we make snacking healthy, delicious and easy."

I heard about Nature Box on Youtube from several people. Juicystar07 gets a NatureBox every month, and has a discount code for $10 off. It depends what kind of subscription you want to get how much it costs. If you want to get a box every month you can get a deal where each box costs $15.99 per month, but you have to pay for a years worth. I didn't know if I wanted to do that, so I just did it for 1 month. I might unsubscribe like I did for the Love for Food Box. So in total I payed $9.95.

I chose everything I wanted in my box, but you can choose to be surprised if you want to. You can also say the kind of food you want like salty/sweet/spicy/tart and if you have any allergies. You can say what your dietary needs are gluten conscious, 15g carbs or less, no sugar added, vegan, soy free, milk free, non gmo, or nut free.

I say what it is and then give my review. It should be interesting my review because I can be a picky eater. Just because I don't like something doesn't mean the product is bad, it just didn't suit my picky taste buds.

1. Honey Dijon Pretzels - Honey Mustard Flavored Pretzel Bites: This is in the category dairy-free and savory. The servings per container is 5. This is what it says on the back of the bag: "It's the fourth quarter and your team is just a few free throws and a three-pointer behind. Meanwhile, the snack attack is creeping on so you grab these pretzels from your bag. The slight sweetness of honey is the perfect complement to that mustardy kick - and this snack is the perfect complement to the thrilling game."
Review: I don't know why I got these. I don't really like dijon mustard. I like pretzels. The pretzel tastes good and so does the sweetness of the honey, but I just don't like dijon mustard. It's not the snack's fault. I will give this bag to my dad. I think next time I will get the Salted Caramel Pretzel Pops.

2. Baked Cheddar Potato Fries - Cheddar and Potato Crackers: This is in the category 15g carbs or less, soy-free, wheat-free, nut-free, and savory. The servings per container is 4. This is what it says on the back of the bag: "During the commute home, your stomach starts to grumble. You start to lament your too-light lunch but you remember these Baked Cheddar Potato Fries tucked away in your bag! It has the satisfyingly savory flavors of the classic French fry without the guilt so you can snack smarter without spoiling your appetite."
Review: I didn't like these either. I think I thought these would taste like cheesy chips. The cheese doesn't taste good to me. And they are hard and crispy, not like warm, soft french fries. I guess I like the fattening kind of French fries. I will give this bag to someone who likes it.

3. Sea Salt Pop Pops - Sea Salted Popcorn Kernels: The categories for this is dairy-free, wheat-free, nut-free, savory, and vegan. There are 4 servings in the bag. The back of the bag says, "It's your favorite time of the week - movie night! You pour a tall glass of that ice-cold cucumber-infused water and reach for this half-popped goodness for the ultimate treat. With a pinch of sea salt, these Pop Pops are seasoned to your satisfaction and the perfect pair to every show."
Review: I do like these. These tasted like the popcorn that hasn't been popped all the way and is really crunchy. They are nice and salty too. The ingredients is whole corn, soybean or sunflower oil, and sea salt. This to me tastes better than the popcorn you buy at the movies. I don't know if I will repurchase these though because I think I want to order all new things or maybe not get a box at all.

4. Cinnamon Swirl Kettle Kernels - Cinnamon Roasted Corn Kernels: These fall into the category of soy-free, wheat-free, nut-free, sweet, and low sodium. The serving size is 4.5. The back of the bag says, "What do you do on a Monday afternoon, when your busy workflow and snack attack are at their peak? Sneak off to that kitchen cupboard and reach for these Cinnamon Swirl Kettle Kernels. Crunchy and oh-so-slightly sweet, you'll be amped up to tackle the rest of your day in no time. And that endless to-do list? Easy peasy.
Review: These taste so good! They remind me of a snack I used to love as a child. Corn Nuts! But they are sprinkled with cinnamon and sugar! These would be another good snack for watching a movie with. I would repurchase these.

5. Cheddar and Onion Sunflower Kernels: The categories for this are 15g carbs or less, soy-free, wheat-free, nut-free, and savory. There is 4.5 servings per container. This is what the back of the bag says, "The afternoon snack attack hits and you're not sure exactly what you want. Maybe it's nut mix, maybe it's crackers. Whatever the case, you want it savory and cheesy. Reach for these Cheddar and Onion Sunflower kernels! Tear open the bag and prepare for some serious flavor and major snack-happiness."
Review: I like these. These taste like flavored sunflower seeds. The cheese taste in this doesn't taste bad to me.

Also, what is neat about these bags is they are resealable. I am trying to eat healthier, so hopefully these snacks will help me.

My Thoughts: This is an all matte look. I think it is supposed to be inspired from the 90's. This look is getting popular lately. I think it is pretty. It is a change from the glowing, shimmery looks. It seems like a good look for fall. I was told that it didn't look like I was wearing any makeup, which I take as a compliment.

My Thoughts: The lips are a bright coral color because they are lined with hot pink and the lipstick is bright orange, so it combines to make a coral color. They are glossy too. I think it is really pretty. It brings focus on your lips. It is a nice summertime color.

6. Millie Mackintosh Inspired Makeup Look by Chanelette https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPFhldl2f4w
a. Tinted Moisturizer
b. Concealer

m. Burberry Lip Pencil in Rosewood No.7: Jordana Easyliner for Lips Retractable Pencil in Tawny
n. Maybelline Color Sensational Gloss in Cashmere Rose: Essence Stay With Me Long Lasting Lip Gloss in My Favorite Milkshake
My Thoughts: I don't know who Millie Mackintosh is, but Chanelette is so beautiful. She says this is her go to look. It looks light on the eyes with black liquid liner and a little wing. The face has bronzer all over it, with a peachy pink golden blush. I love Candid Coral. I think it is beautiful, and it is supposed to be a close dupe to NARS Deep Throat. Watt's Up is a pretty luminous champagne cream highlighter that looks very natural. The lip liner is a "my lips but better" color, and it is very inexpensive at Walgreens. we don't have the Maybelline lip gloss she used in the states. I think my dupe was pretty close. The lip gloss is a pretty peachy pink. It is also very inexpensive. Overall, this is a pretty, natural, summertime look. Also, the bronzer Wet 'n Wild Bikini Contest is a good dupe for NARS Laguna.

18. Laqa & Co Bossy Boots Lip Crayon: Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in Cranberry Crush
My Thoughts: She says that Gisele doesn't wear that much makeup. She is just naturally gorgeous, so this look is supposed to look like you are naturally beautiful. The makeup doesn't look natural on me. It looks pretty though. The eyes have bronze and gold on them. The cheeks are a mauve color. The lips are cranberry. I think this look will last long because the eyes are 24 hour wear, the cheeks are a stain and the lips are a stain. It's good for a hot day I think.

Summer Makeup 2014 Part 6

I want this summer to last forever. I keep finding summer makeup looks I want to try out. This is the most amount of tutorials I think I have found in a season. It's funny because summer when it is hot, is not really the time you want to be wearing makeup. You feel as though it will just sweat off your face. I think summer has inspired a lot of looks, and when there is air conditioning you can still have fun with your makeup.

1. Get Ready With Me: Summer Wedding by Carli Bybel https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UT_3OEMa9nQ

t. MAC Lip Liner in Oak: Boots No.7 Lip Liner in Nude
u. Dose of Colors Lipstick in Soft Touch: NYX Round Lipstick in Orange Soda
v. Whitening Lightning Color Your Smile Lighted Lip Gloss in Nude: NYX Mega Shine Lip Gloss in Natural
My Thoughts: I think this look is very glamorous. It is very dramatic on the eyes. The eye shadow on the lid is pretty natural, but the black gel liner with the wing and the gold glitter reminds me of Cleopatra. I think the fuchsia on the lower lash line is different, but very pretty. The rest of the face (other then the golden highlight) is natural. The lips are a glossy nude. This is a look to go out in at night.

3. Keep Calm Festival Look Chatty Tutorial by beautycrush https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNjX6eDVHyQ

h. Rimmel Stay Blushed Liquid Cheek Tint in Sunkissed Cherry: Benefit Benetint
i. Rimmel Keep Calm Lip Balm in Keep Calm & Rock: Jordana Twist & Shine Moisturizing Balm Stain in Sweet Pink
My Thoughts: I think this would also be a good look for a hot day at a fair. She said you could also wear this camping in general. The Lavish Lavender brings out my eye color. I also like how everything is budge proof: the Maybelline Color Tattoo and the stains on the cheek and lip.

4. Tarte Golden Days & Sultry Nights Amazonian Clay Shadow Palette "Golden Days"
a. Toes in the Sand, lid: Wet 'n Wild Who's Carpooling? brow bone shade
b. Espadrilles, crease: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul

e. Ocean View, lower lash line: Pacifica Solar Complete Mineral Palette in Mermaid Aqua
f. Black Eye Liner, top lash line close to lashes
g. Mascara
My Thoughts: I found a review of this palette on a blog, and they happened to have the card that showed the day time and night time look to go with the palette. This is the day time look. The eyes are neutral on top, but the gold in the inner corner and the aqua on the lower lash line give it a pop of color for the summer. I wore Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso, and for lips I wore NYX Butter Gloss in Apple Strudel.

l. Tarte Golden Days and Sultry Nights Summer Eye Shadow Palette, Toes in the Sand, under brow: Wet 'n Wild Who's Carpooling? brow bone color
m. Espadrilles, crease, outer lower lash line: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Nude in Matt Abdul
n. Caparinha Cocktails, lid, inner corner: Elf Beauty Book Bright Eye Edition: 3rd row, 1st shade
o. Setting Spray
p. White Eye Liner, waterline
q. Mascara
r. Fake Lashes
s. Benefit either Posi, Lolli, or Cha Cha Balm (She doesn't say which one she used.) Fresh Sugar Rose Lip Balm
t. Urban Decay Native Lip Liner: NYX Lip Liner in Nude Pink
u. NYX Chunky Dunk Hydrating Lippie in Pink Bikini: L'Oreal Colour Riche Extraordinary Lip Color in Nude Ballet
My Thoughts: The eyes are a shimmery gold on the lid. There is taupe in the crease. I put on Urban Decay's Subversion Lash Primer, and that really does an amazing job of priming your lashes. My lashes look so full and long. The lips are a pinkish nude. The blush is a natural flush. I don't like to look too glowing in the summer because then I feel like I just look oily. I like to be glowy in certain spots of my face.

j. NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Face Powder: She doesn't say which one she used, but I used Pink Cheek Glow
k. The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer, top of cheekbones, sides of eyes, nose, middle of forehead, cupid's bow, middle of chin
l. EOS Lip Balm
m. Annabelle Twist Up in Absolute, line and fill in lips: Maybelline Color Elixir in Radiant Bloom
My Thoughts: This is a really simple look. I like it because she used products I already have. This feels like a classic summer look. It doesn't look like you are wearing a lot of makeup. The eyelid color in The Comfort Zone palette is a beautiful rose gold color. Pink Cheek Glow is a really pretty, natural pink blush. I should use this blush more often. NYC is inexpensive.

My Thoughts: She combined colors a lot I noticed, mixing eye shadows, blush and 4 different lip products! This look uses a lot of makeup, but it looks pretty. You can see the peach color on the eyes, cheeks, and lips.

Lush Shark Fin Soap

There was an article I read about sharks going extinct because people cut off the fins. 95% of the animal is discarded! It saddened me, and I felt motivate to donate to this cause to end this horrible treatment of sharks. I signed the petition, and I bought the Lush Shark Fin Soap that only cost $5.95. All proceeds go to this movement.

This is what the Lush website says, "A refreshing soap with ingredients from the sea. Did you know that every year up to 100 million sharks are needlessly killed for shark fin soup? Take a bite out of shark finning with our limited edition sea-inspired soap! Created for Discovery Channel's Shark Week, its softening seaweed, scrubby fine sea salt and zesty lime oil make it a refreshing way to cool down this summer. 100% of the price of this soap will be donated to United Conservationists, a non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and conservation of sharks through its Fin Free movement. Now you can swim with the sharks, and help protect them too!"

Review: It smells really good. It smells like lime. You can see the seaweed and sea salt on the bottom of the soap. It is a nice size soap too! I'm not used to using soap. I usually use body wash with a loofah. I know it is more environmentally friendly to use bars of soap because you don't have garbage to throw away. The soap doesn't create a lather, which I am used to. It made my skin really clean and soft! I thought maybe it would be too abrasive because of the sea salt, but it isn't at all. I really like this soap!

Queen of Hearts Soap: Whenever I have ordered from Lush they always have given me a free sample. This is what the website has to say about the product. I like to read what it says on the website because it is funny and tells you what is inside the product and what it is created to do. "Off with your dirt! Normally, we advise against washing your face with our soaps but we give you permission to do so with Queen of Hearts. Why? Other soaps are designed for much stronger skin while the Queen is made with a beautiful rose petal infusion base making it much gentler than other body soaps. Cocoa butter keeps skin flexible while moisturizing almond and balancing geranium oils leave you feeling fresh and soft. The Queen cleans without drying out your face; if you must wash your face with soap, please choose this one (on orders from the Queen).

Review: Normally, I use facial soap that has benzoyl peroxide in it or salicylic acid because that is what my dermatologist has recommended to me. I don't like to deviate from what she says to do, but I'm going to try this soap out. It sounds really lovely. It is strange using a bar of soap on my face because I'm used to squeezing out a face wash that creates more of a lather. I just got the bar wet and slid it across my face and the areas I could do that I got my hands soapy and washed with my hands. The soap was not harsh at all. It left my skin feeling good and clean. I still used a moisturizer. I think what I normally use on my skin is pretty harsh because of the ingredients. If I start getting break outs I will stop using the soap and go back to my regular routine. But after the first night I woke up with no pimples, so so far it is working good.
