August Favorites

One of my favorite books for the month of August was Girl Waits with Gun by Amy Stewart. It is a historical fiction book taking place at the turn of the 20th century where Horses and buggies road along with cars on the road. The Kopp sisters live out in the country, and they run into danger when they meet up with Mr. Kaufman and his dark minions. I recommend this.

This book I am still reading, but it is a nice summertime read I thought I would share. It was made into a movie with Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend I forget his name. This was when they first met was on the set of that movie. It's above a city girl who meets a young man at the beach. Her dad lives on the beach and her parents are divorced. She is angry with her parents, and she is sent to stay with her dad (she hasn't spoken to him for a couple of years).

1. Paul Mitchell Lemon Sage Thickening Spray: This helps to make hair look thicker. It is good if you have fine hair.

2. It's a 10 Spray: This is famous. People love this stuff. I use just a little bit because my hair is fine I don't want to weigh my hair down. It has 10 benefits to the hair including a heat protectant, de-frizzer, untangles the hair.

3. Fortune Cookie Obsessive Compulsive Hand Sanitizer: I like having this wear I apply makeup.

4. The Balm Time Balm Face Primer: This is just a nice face primer. It works and does it's job.

5. Floss (lol) Well, I mean it is important to floss your teeth. This kind is fine to get in between my teeth.

6. Simple Face Wipes: I found this in the cupboard. It was waiting for me. I like how moist these towelettes are. I have gotten face wipes before and they were too dry.

1. Bath and Body Works Pumpkin Cupcake Body Spray and Lotion: This has a nice smell. I don't know how to describe it. It isn't that pumpkiny more like vanilla.

2. Philosophy Amazing Grace Ballet Rose Perfume: Pretty floral perfume

These are some lippies and a concealer and the palettes on display are the following. The one in the back is Stila In the Know Palette. It is all mattes. And Stila In the Garden palette is the green one. I love these palettes. They have really good shadows.

I have been using this towel and beach bag every other day as I have taken up swim aerobics. It is so much fun. I'm so glad I got into this. It was nerve wracking at first because I was by myself and I am not that confident in the water. They always say to find something you enjoy doing for exercise, and I am so glad that I found this.

I have also been loving my floral backpack I got from Fred Meyers a while ago. My Bible because I have been going through a rough patch and the Word of God is my personal connection to God. He speaks to me through his word. He is a personal God. And my cute folder I've been using to carry important papers around with me.

Summer into Fall Everyday Look ~Going to a dahlia (flower) festival/show today

This is a simple look. I'm going to wear a hat. I'm going to put my hair into a pony tail. We are going to a dahlia (flower) festival/show today.

1. First, I used Baby Face by Maybelline on my face.

2. Then, I put concealer under my eyes with L'Oreal Infallible Pro-Glow. It is moisturizing.

3. For bronzer I used Rimmel's Sun Light Bronzer. Just a little bit around my face.

4. I put gold on my lid, and light brown in my crease. Also I put the bronzer in my crease.

5. I didn't put on mascara because I need to buy another one. I curled my lashes.

6. For cheeks I put on a rose embossed blush by Milani called "Coral Cove." And I blended it out.

7. For my lips I put on a pomegranate lip balm by Burts Bees.

Cheaper Alternatives to a Summery/Fall Look by Casey Holmes

I don't get any of this makeup sent to me.

1. Tape eyes. Watch the video to see how she does it.

2. Cream shade to match skin tone, to set her eyes. I put on eye primer.

3. Shade mixing cream and orange. For a good matte orange I used the Milani Bella Eye Shadow in Mandarin. That's an affordable one from the drugstore. She put this in the crease.

4. Matte orange-yellow shadow. I took the yellow brow bone shade in Wet 'n Wild's Poster Child and mixed it with Peanut Butter in the Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette. She put this in the crease and outer corner next to the tape.

5. I didn't have a bright matte orange, so I mixed the red and yellow shades in my Wet 'n Wild Poster Child palette. I think it is still available.

6. She used a matte green, a forest sort of shade. And put next to the orange on her lid. I used a green I have from one of the Maybelline palettes. I'm not sure if they still have it. It is Maybelline Color Explosion in Forest Fury.

7. It looks like she is browning up the orange in her outer crease and so I'm mixing a brown with another matte orange I have. Both are from Kat Von D's Monarch Palette. The two colors on the left of the palette.

8. Bright matte yellow on the inner part of the lid. I used the yellow in the Wet 'n Wild Poster Child palette. It isn't as pigmented as the shadow she used, but I just got a lot of the product onto my brush and made it work.

9. Blend in the yellow to the other colors, but don't blend it away too much.

10. I added more brown into the outer crease and crease. Just a little to get it to match her's.

11. Pull off tape.

12. Brown liquid liner upper lash line, wing. Just follow the line that your eye shadow made that the tape revealed. I didn't have the same brown as she did, but my cheaper alternative is Physician's Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner in Deep Brown.

13. Face Primer

14. Foundation

15. Concealer

16. Powder. She used a sponge. Just put it onto the concealer to set it into place. Then a big powder brush for the rest of the face.

17. Contour (I skipped contour).

18. Blush. She used Tarte Blush in Sensual. I used Milani Powder Blush in Romantic Rose. It is the blush with the rose embossed to it.

19. Golden highlight, tops of cheekbones, around the eye, also above eyebrow, cupid's bow

20. Eye Brows

21. She put on false lashes. I curled my lashes and put on mascara.

22. Brown eye shadow on lower lash line. I used the same brown used on my lid.

23. Yellow around the tear ducts of my eyes, using a pencil brush, and the same color I used for my lid.

24. Lip Liner. I used a rose one. Jordana's Easy Liner for Lips in Rock 'n' Rose.

25. Nude Liquid Lipstick. I used Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color in Seduction.

26. Peach Lip Topper - You can also use a peach lip gloss, and get the same effect. Jordana Lip Out Loud Gloss in TTYL.

Summery Warm Everyday Look

This look reminds me of a monarch butterfly. My pictures don't really show the colors as well as I would like. If you want to check out the video you will see the colors so much better. I copied All That Fresh's tutorial...https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=shpPmdfuc5Q if you want to see where I based the look on.

This is what I did to achieve this look.

1. For my face primer I used Pixi Flawless & Poreless.

2. Foundation: Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir in Ivory.

3. Milani Eyeshadow Primer

4. Matte cream eye shadow into the crease.

5. Satin orange shade in the crease. I used Milani Bella Mandarin Eye Shadow.

6. Shimmery medium copper on the outer half of the lid.

7. Metallic light-medium, gold on the inner half of the lid.

8. Matte dark brown in the outer lid and outer crease. I blended this out. I blended out all the shadows, so there would be no harsh lines.

9. Concealer: Wet 'n Wild Photo Focus Concealer under eye and clean up the edge of lid.

10. Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte Powder in Translucent

11. Light cream, matte eye shadow under eye brow.

12. Matte black eye shadow, line upper lash line and wing it out.

13. I used the same shadow I used for my outer lid, the copper on my lower lash line.

14. I used the gold shade from my inner half on the inner part of my lower lash line.

15. Mascara: L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise Waterproof Mascara in Black Brown

16. Contour/Bronzer: Benefit Hoola

17. Blush: The Balm Hot Mama

18. Highlight: The Balm Mary Lou Manizer

19. Lip Liner: Jordana Lip Liner in Tawny

July Favorites

Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood

It has been so long since I've watched this movie. It is so good! My mom rented it from Netflix and we had a sort of slumber party watching it. I love these movies from my teenage years that are so heartfelt and have such a great story. I think I got something from it seeing it again as an adult compared to what I loved about it as a teen, but the movie is still amazing. It makes me want to rent other movies like this I used to love back in the 90's. I really related to Naomi Judd's character as a woman who also has mental health issues.

Valerian and the 1000 Planets

This movie was so fun and so cool! I loved it! I felt like it was the perfect summer movie to see in the theaters. I guess it didn't get good reviews, and it didn't get as much viewing as they had anticipated, but I didn't read the reviews. I saw it got sort of an average amount of stars, but I thought I would like it anyway. It had AMAZING graphics! I saw the regular version, not the 3D one. And the story was fun. I love it when there is a strong female lead. This movie is based off of a graphic novel that takes place in the future where they are sort of fighting crime I guess and they are partners relying on each other and doing the right thing. It's sort of a mystery because they don't know what exactly is going on, but we as the audience know more. I feel like I'm doing a terrible job describing this movie. It's a science fiction type with different kinds of aliens. It really appealed to my imagination and I felt like I went soaring off into the galaxy.

Karena + Katrina Beach Waves Sea Salt Texture Spray: This is made by the Tone It Up girls. They make exercise videos on Youtube. This makes my hair really curly. I just spray a little bit into my hands and scrunch my hair. I can't spray it onto my hair or else it will be too much product since my hair is really fine. It smells really good too like coconuts.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer: This is my favorite golden highlighter.

Maybelline Master Strobing Liquid Illuminating Highlighter in Light/Iridescent. This is a pretty liquid highlighter that looks really natural on the skin.

Benefit Hoola Bronzer: Here is my little sample of it. I have the original one and it looks like a natural bronze on my skin.

Even though I see all these videos of people trying out different highlighters and bronzers, I feel like I only need my Mary-Lou Manizer and Hoola bronzer.

Covergirl True Naked Goldens Palette: If I want to do a simple eye look this palette is really easy to create a look with. I like the 2nd and 4th color as shimmery lid colors and the 3rd one for the crease. This is also handy for traveling.

Koreas Greek Yoghurt Nourishing Moisturizer: I went to Sephora and asked for recommendations and the woman working in the skin care section gave me a sample of this. The ingredients are very good for you.

Erborian Yuza Sorbet Night Reinforced Nighttime Emulsion: This night cream works so well. I can tell that it helps nourish my skin because it looks better in the morning. It feels good and smells good.
