March Favorites!

Hi everyone! I hope you had a great month! I'm happy to be on Spring Break and looking forward to celebrating Easter. I love to see the flowers blooming everywhere. This is a tree in my front lawn.

I don't know the name of these kinds of trees. I just call them "Rose Trees." They remind me of the story in Alice in Wonderland where they paint the roses red for the Queen. I love them.

I have a favorite movie of the month. This movie came out on DVD. I have seen it three times now. I saw the live show once with my aunt. It's my favorite musical and one of my favorite movies of all time. It's Les Miserables.

                                                              (Source: Google Images)

1. I started a new book trilogy this month called, "Delirium" by Lauren Oliver.

This takes place in Portland, Maine, USA. It's a dystopian society. People believe that all the sicknesses in the world are because of the human ability to love. So when people turn 18 they have an operation in their brain to get rid of the capacity to love! So of course the main character is a girl who is 17 and can't wait to have the procedure done, but she ends up falling in love! This in the first book in a trilogy. I really liked this book. It had a sad part though. I like how the author described the main character falling in love. After I finished reading this, I ran out to the bookstore to get the next two books. The third book has just hit the bookstores.

2. I quickly read the second book, and I loved it as well! It is called, "Pandemonium."

It was a real page turner. It was very exciting. I don't know how to talk about this book without giving anything away about the first book. Just know this book is more thrilling than the first book. There are a lot of new characters. I'm anxious to read the third book because of the cliff hanger of how this book ended. It is very shocking.

3. Essence Nude Glam Nail Polish in 08 Peach & Cream with Essence Colour & Go Nail Polish in 103 Space Queen on top

It's hard to see in the photograph, but this is just a light peach color. It's really pretty. A pastel peach, with a glitter that goes with it. It's pretty fool proof.

4. Essie Nail Lacquer in Mint Candy Apple

I couldn't take a picture of this without being blurry. I don't know why my camera was doing that. I really love this color! I got a lot of compliments too! Someone told me they were reminded of a robin's egg blue. It seemed to cheer people up when they looked at it. I heard about this color a lot when I watched Youtube videos. I think it used to be limited edition, but now it is part of Essie's permanent collection! It's one of my favorite colors.

5. Urban Decay Deluxe Shadow Box

I love this palette! I got it off of Hautelook. I did a blog post about it. It has the prettiest colors. I don't have anything in my collection like it. The colors are so vibrant and long lasting. It's just really good quality. I'm really impressed. It's my first time getting anything by Urban Decay other than the eye primer.

5. Garnier Fructis Fortifying Conditioner in Fall Fight

I think every month I have a different shampoo and conditioner for a favorite. I'm just always trying something new. I wanted to use something by Garnier Fructis and I had this lying around. This is supposed to help your hair from falling out. My hair still falls out. But hopefully it doesn't fall out as much as when I don't use this. It smells like apples. It smells really good. And it makes my hair feel good. It's just an ok favorite for the month.

6. Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo in Pure Clean

I heard missglamorazzi talk about how she uses a clarifying shampoo once a week to clean her hair really good from all the build up. She says she uses this. So I decided to get this and use it once a week. But I liked it so much, I used it every time I washed my hair! No where does it say you should use it only once a week. It leaves my hair feeling nice and clean. I love it! It's also supposed to be good for the environment.

7. Olay Moisturizing Body Wash in Silk Whimsy

I wanted to get a different body wash because I was getting tired of the smells of the ones I had been using. This one smells so good. It is light and I don't know if it is fruit or roses, but whatever it is, it is pleasant. It is moisturizing too. My other body wash at first I thought smelled good, but my mom smelled it and she didn't like it. Once she said that, all of a sudden it didn't smell very good to me. I hate how my opinion can be so wishy-washy like that!

8. Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Bellini

This is a pale coral pink shade infused with hints of coral and a slight shimmer. It is beautiful. It is nice for spring time. It's also a good quality lip gloss.

9. Maybelline Color Tattoo in Barely Beige

This is supposedly a dupe for MAC's Paint Pot in Bare Study. It is a light shimmery nude. You can wear it under shadows as a base. I like to wear primers under them first because I have really oily eye lids.

10. Wet 'n Wild Fergie Center Stage Collection Rose Champagne Glow Shimmer Palette

I love this because it is a champagne highlight. You get a lot of product. It is inexpensive. I don't know if it is still available or if it was limited edition. I'm glad I picked it up. People compared it to a MAC MSF! Wet 'n Wild come out with some amazing products!

I hope you enjoyed seeing my favorites! What were your favorites of the month? Take care!

Beauty Yearbook Tag

I saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JGHqV2ZuOug by Melmphs. It's the Beauty Yearbook Tag and it looked like a fun tag to do. If you know my blog, you know how I'm obsessed with Beauty Youtube videos. So this is the perfect tag for me to do. If you do the tag, let me know in the comments! I'd like to see who you would choose!

1. A Youtuber who inspired you to start your channel (or in my case blog): Everybody did! I can't choose one. I caught the bug from watching lots of Youtube videos. I'm too shy to make videos, but when I discovered how easy it was to make a blog, I decided to do it this way.

2. Most Soothing Voice: http://www.youtube.com/user/daisynation She is from England and she has a beautiful accent and a Marilyn Monroe type voice.

3. Youtuber that deserves more subscribers: http://www.youtube.com/user/DivaMakeupQueen She actually is one of my subscribers! I think she is amazing. She's a talented makeup artist and cellist.
Also, http://www.youtube.com/user/froufrou412. She is absolutely gorgeous and has great beauty, style, and hair advice. I can't believe she only has 12,631 subscribers!

4. Who makes you laugh: http://www.youtube.com/user/Melmphs She is from the south and she reminds me of Wanda Sykes sometimes. I love watching her videos. http://www.youtube.com/user/samanthaschuerman She is so funny. She has a quirky personality. I love her. http://www.youtube.com/user/essiebutton She has a great personality. She is from Canada and lives in England. You don't know what is going to come out of her mouth. She makes me laugh so hard.

5. Best hair: http://www.youtube.com/user/EGheartsSSC She has strawberry blond hair, that is silky straight and long. I love her hair. It reminds me of my cousin, Amy's hair. I wish mine looked like that!

6. Bad for the wallet: http://www.youtube.com/user/emilynoel83 She does a lot of drugstore type videos. I end up going to the drugstore feeling like I'm going to save money, but I end up getting so much makeup, I spend too much. :(

7. Most envied collection: http://www.youtube.com/user/GOTTALOVEMELI05 She's a subscriber of this blog! Oh my gosh, look at her collection video! She has everything you could possibly want. I love her makeup.

8. Best Thumbnails: http://www.youtube.com/user/missglamorazzi She does this cool sectional thing. Like she will put more than one picture in the thumbnail and arrange them in boxes. I think it looks pretty cool.

9. Most Original: http://www.youtube.com/user/grav3yardgirl She is just really unique. She has her own unique style and she is just an original personality.

10. Cutest Background: http://www.youtube.com/user/TheBubbleGumPrincess She has a white sheet and the cutest little fairy lights behind the sheet. I think it looks so pretty.

11. Best Fashion or Style: http://www.youtube.com/user/AllThatGlitters21 She has a feminine style that is trendy, but not too trendy. She looks really sophisticated. I love her jewelry. I wish she was my personal shopper.

12. Cutest Pet: http://www.youtube.com/user/michele1218 Her dog isn't always in her videos, but I love it when he is. I think he is a golden retriever. He is so loving. And you can tell Michele loves her dog. It's the cutest thing to see.

13. Who seems like she would be your best friend: This is hard to pick because I think I like watching all of these people because I feel like they are my friends. http://www.youtube.com/user/Sprinkleofglitter She is from England. And I think we would be good friends. She seems like a lot of fun to be with.

14. Best Editing: http://www.youtube.com/user/BEAUTYQQ She is also very original. She edits in subtitles for English speakers. She also does funny things with Barbie dolls and her little dogs. She's very creative.

15. Best Newbie: I don't think I'm subscribed to any newbies. So I couldn't think of one.

I hope you check out these people, and find some that you like! I TAG everyone to do this!

March Birchbox!

I got my Birchbox in the mail today!

This is what the card said:

Hi there,

Every March, the sports nuts in our lives spend the entire month chattering on about brackets, upsets, Sweet 16s, and Final Fours. This year, we're getting in on the game. After all, doesn't Birchbox help you research and create your ultimate beauty starting lineup? This box is filled with products to make the cut - from up-and-coming rookies to veteran all-stars.

All month, we'll be hosting beauty face-offs on our Facebook page - think epic throw-downs like liquid versus gel liner - and we want to hear your picks! We'll also be teaming up with Birchbox Man to run our own March Madness bracket - even if you don't know anything about basketball, you can still enter to win fun prizes.

And since we know you're itching for spring, our friends at Madewell have included a darling nail file in one of this season's hottest patterns, plus an exclusive shopping offer.

May the best team (crossed out) products win,
Katia, Hayley & the Birchbox Team

1. Macadamia Natural Oil Deep Repair Masque: Made with macadamia and tea tree oils, this rich treatment strengthens strands from the inside while also adding major gloss. I'm excited to get this! I have heard a lot about these products.

2. Macadamia Natural Oil Healing Oil Treatment: Quicker than a trip to Hawaii, this featherweight hair treatment woos us with a combination of lush macadamia nut and argan oils. Bonus: It cuts down on drying time. This is a big sample! I hope it works well on my hair!

3. Madewell for Birchbox Emery Board: We teamed up with Madewell to create this adorable mani savior, patterned after a print from their new spring collection. This is the prettiest emery board I've ever seen!

4. Make Dual-Phase Eye Makeup Remover: Opposites attract in this gentle - but seriously effective - remover. Shake to combine the layers of oil, chamomile, and cucumber-infused H20, then apply with a cotton ball. I will have to try this out and see how I like it.

5. Make Lipstick? I guess they forgot to put this in my box. No they did! It's very tiny. We were smitten with this new brand's lovely pigments even before we found out that one-third of all sales are donated to charity. We'll take one in every shade. My shade is Maraschino Cherry.

6. Sage + fasten Common Sense Eau de Parfum: Made in New York, this small-batch scent features layers of lotus flower, peach, and lychee. We love that it's free of parabens, sulfates, and synthetics. This is a little roller ball. It smells so good!

h. Purple liner, shimmer lavender purple upper lash line: Jesse's Girl Kohl Formula Eye Liner in Showtime (this liner doesn't work very well)
i. Black Eye Liner, waterline
j. Mascara
k. MAC Feeling Blush: Covergirl Cheekers Soft Sable
l. Nars Orgasm Lip Gloss: Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Peony
My Thoughts: The look is colorful, but the colors go together so I like it. Even though people with hazel eyes aren't supposed to wear blue, this makes my eyes look green, and I like that. The Jesse's Girl Eye Liner is so light you can barely see it, so it's not that great of a dupe.
