October Favorites

1. Divergent by Veronica Roth: This is my first time mentioning a book in a favorites post. I love to read. I'm always reading. I decided to include my favorite read for the month. I finished this book in October, and I absolutely loved it. It is the first in a trilogy. The second book is Insurgent, which I'm currently reading. The third book hasn't come out yet. It reminds me of The Hunger Games series. If you liked those books, I think you would like these. The main character is a girl who is only 16. It takes place in the future. When you turn 16 you take a test that determines which faction you belong in. You can choose to go to that faction or remain in the one you were born and raised in. The different factions are: Dauntless which values courage, Amity which values peace, Candor which values honesty, Erudite which values knowledge, or Abnegation which values selflessness. The books are very exciting. If you want to read these books be prepared to hold on to your seats!

2. My October Calendar Picture: Isn't this so cute?! I wanted to include this in my favorites because I fell in love with this picture that was on my wall calendar for the month of October. I have a "Kittens" Calendar by Studio18. I don't remember where I got it. Probably from a drugstore. The pictures are so adorable.

3. China Glaze Nail Lacquer in For Audrey: I have heard about this nail polish for awhile, but I could never find it. I think it was always sold out. This is my favorite color. The nail polish has lasted for so long on my nails. It is a record. I took these pictures at the beginning of the month when it was still warm outside I was wearing Tevo's still. It is like the Tiffany's box color. So pretty. <3

4. Essie Nail Lacquer in Lollipop: I had heard or read somewhere that this was a great red nail polish. I bought it a little while ago and had it setting on my table with my other nail polishes that I haven't tried yet. I finally decided to wear it. It is so pretty. I felt like a lady. xD

5. The Balm What's Your Type? Black Mascara: I got this from my IPSY October bag. It volumizes your lashes, and it doesn't flake off. I don't think I would buy this because I prefer to buy the cheaper mascaras since I think they do a good job too. I have to admit this is a great mascara though.

6. Forever 21 Earrings: Here is another first for my favorites. I never write about jewelry I'm wearing. Lately, I've been loving studs. These three I've been wearing a lot. The top are fake diamonds, with diamonds all around the sides. They're very beautiful. It's hard to see in my picture. The second are black roses that I like to wear whenever I'm wearing black. The third pair look almost golden in the picture, but they are more of a bronze type color. I like to wear this when I'm wearing brown clothing. It's very simple, but elegant I think.

7. Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Eye Shadow Trio in Knock on Wood: I like how pigmented the shadows are, and how easily blendable they are. I really like the eyelid color which is a beautiful cranberry. It's a nice fall shadow. It looks pretty on hazel eyes.

8. Rimmel Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Liner Pencil in Pure White: This is a nice pencil to use if you want to put white in your waterline. I don't always do this, but several of the looks I wore this month called for this in the waterline. Some say it makes your eyes appear bigger. I think it just gives a sort of 60's type look because I know I'm wearing white in the waterline and I'm not fooling myself. It can look really pretty if paired with the right type of eye makeup.

October Glam Bag/ IPSY Bag

I'm writing this post after being to the dentist and having gas, so hopefully this post isn't too crazy that I would need to delete this post.

I think that bag looks ok.

1. Pequi Oil Treatment: On the bottle it says, "Restores softness and shine." It says it calms frizziness and flyways which sounds good to me. I'll have to try it out.

2. Be A Bombshell Eye Liner in Onyx: I don't like to you black eye liner, but it looks good if I wanted to use it. I might give this to my mom.

3. The Balm What's Your Type? "The Body Builder" Mascara: The photos are kind of blurry. I don't really know what I think of this. I'll have to try it out first. I like the mascara I normally use, but this one might be good too.

4. Mirenesse Lip Bomb Glossy Lacquer Stain: I like the color. On the packaging it says, "Revolutionary Lip innovation fuses color, gloss, stain and lacquer for a super moist and velvety look. Lip Perfecting Spheres & minty breathe freshener included. Feather light, non-smearing, intense & customizable stay on lip color." I don't know what "lip perfecting spheres" are. I think the name of it is "Mirror Me."

5. Coastal Scents Eye Shadow: I have never tried their eyeshadow before, so this should be interesting. It is so cute.

October Birchbox

I was happy to see my Birchbox came today. I look forward to opening it and see what surprises await me.

The card on the inside says, "Hi there, Since we were kids, October has meant one thing: costumes. (And candy, of course.) From princesses to Wonder Woman, we had quite the parade of getups. In honor of those days, we're dedicating this month's Birchbox to beauty changes both big and small.
Transformation doesn't have to mean dying your hair blue or tossing out your entire closet. We've picked samples that you can use to shake up your routine. Switch up your hairstyle, try a bolder lipstick shade, or go completely sans makeup one day. You'll be surprised at how minor tweaks can make a big difference. If you don't know where to start, let us help: we've got five-minute makeover ideas, a video on wearing bronzer year-round, and an easy hair switch that will dramatically update your look. And if you still feel like going for a cobalt coif? We support that."

1. LiQWd The Perfect Wave: "Beachy waves are gorgeous year-round, and this light texturizing cream helps us get the look." I always want to have beachy waves, but products I've tried in the past never seem to work on my hair. I will try this to see if it works.

2. LiQWd SiLK Professional Deep Conditioning Treatment: "The quinoa proteans in this lush conditioning mask fortify dehydrated strands and boost volume." I will try this out and see what it's like.

3. Mighty Leaf Tea Organic African Nectar, Green Tea Tropical, and Organic Earl Grey: "Swap your afternoon latte for these yummy tea blends, made from natural, ethically sourced ingredients." I don't really like tea. I will put this in the kitchen cabinet in case someone else wants to try these.

4. Mox Botanicals Pomegranate & Fig Lip Butter: "Made in Portland, this eco-chic balm revives lips with avocado oil and shea butter." Sounds nice. I will give it a try.

5. theBalm cosmetics Mary-Lou Manizer: "Play up your best features with this three-in-one highlighter, shadow, and all-over shimmer." I am so happy to get this! I've heard great things about it. I can't wait to use it. I love the packaging and the swatch on my hand is very pretty.

6. Harvey Prince Eau Flirt: "How about a fragrance confidence boost? This fanciful scent, with fresh citrus and jasmine notes, is designed to make you smell irresistible." I love getting fragrance samples. It smells good.

I Heart Drugstore Makeup Tag

I just saw this tag today. It was created by makeupbyfran and MakeupByAlli on Youtube. Here are there videos if you want to see: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k4nY-mIJBJg&feature=plcp and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RASok6aHpx4. I really liked this tag because I get most of my makeup from the drugstore. I hope other people will do this tag.

1. Favorite Drugstore Brand in General? It's hard for me to pick just one. If I had to choose I would pick Wet 'n Wild.

2. Favorite Face/Cheek/Lip Product?

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Treatment Concealer in Brightener, Milani Luminoso Blush, and Revlon Colorburst Lipstick in Rosy Nude 065.

3. Least Favorite Drugstore Product?

Elf Little Black Beauty Book Warm Collection: The shadows are chalky and the lipsticks aren't pigmented. I never use this.

4. Best Drugstore Bargain?

Wet 'n Wild 8-Pan Eyeshadow palettes: These are great eyeshadows and it is only $4.99.

5. Favorite Underdog Product?

Elf Zit Zapper: I haven't heard anyone talk about this, but it works really well. I use this on a pimple and it dries up right away.

6. Overpriced Drugstore Product?

Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush: This is about $11 compared to a Covergirl which is $3.75, Wet 'n Wild is $2.99 and Elf is $3.

7. Best Drugstore Dupe?

Wet 'n Wild Eye Shadow Palette in Vanity has so many dupes.
1st Shade: Mac Orb, Mac Brule, Mac Bisque, Urban Decay Foxy
2nd Shade: Mac Wedge, Mac Soba, Mac Omega, Mac Kid, Mac Folio, Mac Cork, Urban Decay Naked
3rd Shade: Mac Embark, Mac Brun, Urban Decay Buck
4th Shade: Mac Rice Paper, Mac Nylon, Mac Gold Dusk Pigment, Mac Creme Royal
5th Shade: Mac Gorgeous Gold, Mac Goldmine, Mac Flip
6th Shade: Mac Bronze, Urban Decay Toasted, Urban Decay Smog

8. Product that isn't worth the hype?

EOS Lip Balms are adorable, but they aren't the best chapsticks.

I Heart Fall Tag

I have been seeing this TAG on a few Youtube videos and I decided that I wanted to do the tag too. So I tag anyone who reads this blog post to make a I <3 Fall Tag post on their blog and comment below if you do it! I would love to see it!

1. Favorite Fall lip product? Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Rosegold

Like the name suggests this a beautiful rose gold color. It is very pigmented. You can wear this gloss alone. The colors remind me of leaves changing.

2. Favorite Fall Nail Polish? Orly Nail Lacquer in Rage

I'm wearing it on my nails in this picture and at the moment. I wanted to switch my nails to something celebrating this time of year. My favorite nail polish is this one. This has been described has a rose gold color too. There is something metallic about it that gives it a jewelry feel. I think it is so elegant. It shines in the sunlight and it also reminds me of the leaves changing colors.

3. Favorite Starbucks Fall Drink? I don't go to Starbucks, but my Dad does. I asked him what his favorite drink was and he said the Pumpkin Spice Latte.

4. Favorite Fall Candle? I don't burn candles. I like the smell of them, but I'm afraid to light them. xD

5. Favorite Fall Scarf or accessory? I have a pretty leaf necklace.

It has an amber colored jewel dangling off the gold chain and a gold leaf printed charm on it. It is very delicate and simple. I just love it. It is inexpensive. I think I found it at Fred Meyers.

6. Haunted house, haunted hay ride, or haunted corn maze? I don't like to go to really haunted, Halloween things because I get too scared. My favorite would be the haunted house at Disneyland. It is more cute than scary to me. Even though at the beginning of the ride I freaked out being on the elevator. >.<

7. Favorite Halloween movie? Practical Magic with Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman

I love this movie! I can watch it multiple times and not get tired of it. Everything about this movie is good. I think it is underrated. I love the photography, the music, the acting, and the story. It is a perfect movie to watch this time of year.

8. Favorite candy to eat on Halloween? I love Hershey's Minatures. It is a bag that comes with a variety of miniature candy bars: Mr. Goodbar, Krackle, Hershey's Milk Chocolate, and Hershey's Dark Chocolate. I actually can't get it to give out because I get too tempted to eat it, and I am on a diet, so I like to give out candy that doesn't tempt me.

9. What are you dressing up as for Halloween?! I am just going to be me for Halloween.

10. What is your Favorite thing about Fall? I love how the weather changes from being very hot to comfortably cold and I can wear my jeans and sweaters again.

Favorite Fall Looks Part 1

I like to watch the different videos on Youtube that show how to do different makeup looks. I keep track of them and try to copy them on myself. Sometimes I like it and sometimes I don't like it. I think it has helped me improve my makeup applying skills and it gives me different ideas of what makeup to use. By now I have enough different colors that I feel I can dupe just about anything. Mostly my makeup is the kind you can find at the drugstore. Sometimes I have more expensive things, but not usually.

These are my favorite makeup looks for this Fall that I've worn and loved. I record what the person on Youtube used, and then I write what I used. Sometimes I used the same thing, but normally the person on Youtube used something more expensive than what I used. I call this part one because there are a lot of looks I still want to try and I probably will like some of them, so I will do another blog post about it. I hope you enjoy and find it helpful!

I didn't keep track of what people used for some makeup products. This is what I always use:

Eye Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance
Liquid Liner: Jordana Fabuliner Liquid Eye Liner in Brown
