January Favorites

1. Favorite Movie: The Greatest Showman. This is a musical about the life of P.T. Barnum. He is the man who invented a circus. The songs are really good. I really recommend this movie.

2. Favorite TV Show: The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. This is a reality show on Bravo I like to watch. It is interesting to me to watch how the ladies get along with each other. I think I like to study people.

3. Favorite Book: The Accidental Tourist by Anne Tyler. I love Anne Tyler books. Her characters are so funny and relatable. In this book Macon Leary writes travel books for business people that would rather stay home than travel, but since they have to travel he shows them how to do it without feeling like you are actually traveling. His son has died and his wife has left him. Then he breaks his leg. His dog is acting up. He meets a dog trainer. I've read this book more than once.

1. Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Cucumber, and Green Tea. I spray this on my face first thing before I do my makeup. It hydrates my face, and it smells good. It is refreshing. I also like the rose water spray, but I wanted to try the green tea one. I heard there is a lavender spray out now too. I got this at Ulta.

2. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream: I put this on my face before doing my makeup. This makes sure my face is moisturized. I went to a dermatologist several years ago and this is the cream she recommended for me to use, and I've been using it ever since.

3. Dr. Brandt Pores No More Face Primer: I have been using this as a face primer. I think it does a good job of smoothing over pores, and is a good base for foundation. I got this deluxe sample from Ulta. It smells like medicine.

4. Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir Foundation: I am still using this foundation. I think it looks really nice on my face. I have normal to dry skin I would say. I think this foundation is full coverage, but it doesn't look like a mask. I don't know why I don't hear more people talk about this foundation. I think it's really good.

5. Wet 'n Wild Photo Focus Concealer: This is my favorite concealer. It is full coverage. I wear it under my eyes and pimples or red spots like around my nose. It is inexpensive and does the job.

6. Maybelline Fit Me! Powder: This is in translucent. I put this all over my face. It helps set my makeup. It doesn't make me look cakey. And takes care of any shine.

7. Benefit Hoola Bronzer: I use this to contour my face. It is a natural shade for my fair skin. It is also matte. I got this deluxe sample from a Benefit Advent Calendar several years ago. When this runs out I think I will buy the full size. The sample has lasted a long time.

8. The Balm Rockstar Palette: I have been using this palette for the highlight called Disco Disco Solid Gold. It is the same thing as the Mary Lou Manizer I have been using for years. It's a pretty gold highlight.

9. Milani Eye Shadow Primer: I have been using this for years also. It is cheap and does a good job of priming my eyelids. It helps the shadows last a long time on my eyes and not crease. I get this at Fred Meyers.

10. Lorac Pro Palette: I have reached for this palette the most out of all my eye shadow palettes. It's a great basic, neutral palette. The matte shades are on the top row. The shimmers are on the bottom.

11. NYX Matte Liquid Liner: This is a matte, black liquid liner I use whenever I give myself a wing or flick. This is inexpensive as well. It has a brush applicator.

12. L'oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise in Black: I get this in the waterproof kind. I have been using this mascara for months now. I keep repurchasing it. I think it does a good job of volumizing, lengthening, separating, and curling my lashes. It is supposed to be a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara. The packaging is similar. But I think it is better than that mascara.

13. Jordana Lip Liner in Tawny: This is a good, inexpensive nude lip liner. I've been using this for a long time too. I like Jordana lip liners.

I hope you had a good month, and have a wonderful new year!

My Beauty Favorites of 2017 Part 2

I figured out how to work my phone, so I am back with more favorites. I am going to share with you my favorite eye shadow palettes, mascara, liners, lipsticks, lip liners, and lip gloss.

Wet 'n Wild Vanity: This has been my favorite palette for 2012, 2013, and 2014. I didn't do a favorites for 2015 or '16. The left column is mattes and the right is shimmers. This was limited edition. I don't know why they didn't make this permanent. It is really good. It has the basic shadows you could want for a drugstore price.

2. Too Faced Chocolate Bar Palette: I like these warm colors. You will see I like a lot of the same kinds of palettes like basic, neutral palettes.

3. Too Faced Semi-Sweet Palette: Again for the same reason why I liked the Chocolate Bar Palette I like this one too. I love the Peanut Butter shadow. It is the middle row, 2nd one from the end.

4. Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette: This one also has some warm browns, but it also has oranges. I got this palette for my birthday in 2017. So this is the only palette I am mentioning that was new for me in 2017.

5. Lorac Pro Palette: The top row is mattes and the bottom row is shimmers. This is my go-to palette. When I don't have a particular look I am doing I will put Taupe in the crease, top row, 3rd color. And I will put either Nude or Champagne on my lid which is bottom row, the first and second colors. This was my favorite palette also in 2014. I think I got it in 2014.

6. Anastasia of Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette: This palette set a trend I think for eye shadow palettes to follow it. It was different because of the reds it has. I also like the browns and orange. There are some really pretty pearl shades too, like the third shadows in both the top and bottom rows.

7. The Balm Nude'tude Palette: This was also on my favorite lists of 2014 and 2013. It has a mixture of mattes and shimmers. Another palette with basic neutrals.

8. This is my favorite mascara, L'Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. I get the waterproof kind. Then under that is NYX Matte Liquid Liner. I like this for my black liner. Under that is Physicians Formula Brown Liquid Liner.

9. These are my favorite lip liners. From left to right: Maybelline Raisin, Jordana Baby Berry, Jordana Rock 'n' Rose, and Jordana Tawny.

10. These are my favorite lipsticks or rather they are lip butters by Revlon. The left one is Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle and the right one is Sugar Plum. I don't think they make these any more, but they are my favorite. I like the way they feel on my lips. Even though liquid lipsticks are more on trend, I like the way the lip butters feel. They don't last for very long.

My Beauty Favorites of 2017 Part 1

Happy New Year! I last did my favorites of the year in January of 2015 I listed my favorite products of 2014. I thought it would be fun to do that again. Some of the products I have for this year are the same from 2014, 2013, and 2012. I am titling this part 1 because I ran out of room on my phone, and my phone isn't letting me take any more pictures. Once that is fixed, I can post part 2.

1. Mario Badescu Facial Sprays. I love to spray this on my face before putting on lotion or face primer. Makes the product go on better I think.

2. CeraVe Moisturizing Cream. I used to go to a dermatologist and she recommended this to me. I love it to keep my skin moisturized.

3. The Balm Time Balm Face Primer: I'm almost out of this. I use this to prime my face before foundation.

4. Covergirl Vitalist Healthy Elixir: This is my favorite foundation. It looks really good on my skin. I think I have normal to dry skin. Actually, I'm not sure which type of skin I have. I might have combination because I get pimples sometimes and it looks like I need to put powder on it sometimes. I think my skin has changed as I've gotten older.

5. Wet 'n Wild Photo Op Concealer: I like to use this concealer under my eyes and on pimples and redness. I spray my Mario Badescu spray on my Real Techniques sponge and use that to blend in the concealer.

6. Flower Cosmetics Lighten Up Concealer: I also like to use this concealer. One of the Youtubers I watch, Zabrena, did a video about drugstore concealers, and this one she mentioned as being a good one. She did a wear test, and it lasted well on the face.

7. Maybelline Fit Me Powder in Translucent: I heard about this powder from my cousin, Paige. She said she really liked it, and she asked for it for her birthday. I decided to try it out, and I really like it too.

8. Benefit Hoola Bronzer: This is my favorite bronzer. I use it to contour with. I think when I run out of this I will buy it again, that's how much I like it.

9. Top row is NYX Desert Rose, Covergirl Pretty Peach, Tarte Paaarty
Bottom row is Milani Luminoso, The Balm Cabana Boy. I had trouble narrowing my favorite blushes, so I decided to take a picture of a bunch of them. Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso was my favorite blush in 2014, 2013, and 2012.

10. Top row: Milani Coral Cove, Milani Romantic Rose, Covergirl Soft Sable
Bottom row: The Balm Frat Boy, The Balm Instain in Houndstooth, The Balm Hot Mama

11. The Balm Mary Lou Manizer: This is my favorite highlighter. I have finally used it all up as you can see. I have a palette by The Balm, The Rockstar Palette, that has a Mary Lou Manizer in it, so I've been using that. This was my favorite highlighter in 2014 and 2013.

12. Milani Eye Shadow Primer. This was also my favorite in 2014 and 2013. It helps keep the eye shadow from creasing.

13. L'areal Infallible Eye Shadows in Amber Rush and Eternal Sunshine. They are pretty rose gold and gold shadows.

Once I figure out how I can take more pictures on my phone I will do that, and finish listing off my favorites. Stay tuned for my favorite makeup palettes, lip liners, and lipsticks! I hope you have a wonderful 2018!
