Empties Review

These videos I see sometimes on Youtube where people show the products they have used up. The theory is, you will give a good review if you have used up a product. These are my products I have most recently used up or I don't want to use them anymore, I am ready to throw them out.

1. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray: I am still unsure about this product. I have been having problems being oily. I used this product after putting on my makeup, but I didn't see a difference. Recently, I went to Sephora and told them I was needing a primer, a powder, and a setting spray. The girl recommended me getting this spray to use as a primer and a setting spray. I had to order the powder, so I haven't had that to see if the whole idea works. So even though this ran out and I did repurchase this, I don't know if I would recommend it.

2. Herbal Essences Smooth Collection Shampoo: This is one of my all time favorite shampoos. I used it back in high school and they discontinued it. When I saw they brought it back, I was so happy! It has 0% Silicone, but it still lathers. It has an infused blend of rose hips, vitamin e, and jojoba extracts. It smells like roses, and makes your hair smell wonderful. People don't know it is your shampoo, they just think you smell good. I would repurchase this. I recommend it. I also like the conditioner.

3. Covergirl Lash Perfection Mascara: This has gotten old. There is a bad smell to it, so I need to throw it out. This mascara is ok. I wouldn't repurchase it. It didn't impress me that much.

4. L'Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes: I liked this, but during the summer time especially it's not good for me to be without my waterproof mascara. Sometimes my eyes water, and sometimes I touch my eyes I think which smears the mascara onto my face. It just works best for me to have waterproof mascara. I also can tell my lashes curl better with waterproof mascara.

5. Candles by Victoria Sugar Scrub in Vanilla Bean: I first heard about this on a video by TheBubbleGumPrincess on Youtube. She got a bunch of body products, so I ordered a body scrub, a lip scrub, and a lotion. I liked this scrub, but sometimes the sugar particles would all bunch together and harden and those would be too hard on my skin. I have had other body scrubs that were better, so I'm not going to repurchase this.

6. Dove Go Fresh Revive Body Wash in Pomegranate & Lemon Verbena Scent: I really liked this body wash. I got it because I ran out of my Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel, and I wanted to find something to replace it. I think the Prince Charming had pomegranate in it, so I thought this would be a good one to try. I really loved the smell, and it made my skin so soft. I would repurchase this or try it in a different scent because I like to change things up. I recommend this.

7. Glam Glow Thirsty Mud Hydrating Treatment: I got two samples of this when I bought the Macadamia Hair Mask. I was really glad to try this because I heard a lot of talk about it. It smells like coconut. It feels so moisturizing. I like the way it feels. I can't tell a difference after I use it. I won't buy this because it is too expensive for me.

8. Freeman Facial Purifying Paper Mask Star Fruit: This is a sample I got at Walmart. I have only seen this as being able to have one at a time, not a box of masks. I really liked this mask! I would repurchase this. This is what it says on the back about the mask: "This serum-infused paper facial mask with Star Fruit helps calm skin stressed by flare-ups. Lavender and Niachinamide help balance oil production. Tea Tree soothes breakout-stressed skin. Perfect for combination to oily skin."

9. Fortune Cookie Soap Witch, Please! No Good Deed Whipped Cream: I liked the smell at first. But then it smelled too much like maple syrup to me. I don't like that smell on my body. The lotion was good quality and moisturized my skin. I won't repurchase this, but I would purchase a whipped cream again.

10. Fortune Cookie Soap Unicorn Farts Shampoo & Conditioner Bars: I didn't use this all up. I tried to use it, but I like liquid shampoo and conditioner better. It wasn't amazing on my hair enough to use over a liquid. Also, the smell wasn't that wonderful. I would not repurchase this.

11. Fortune Cookie Soap Witch, Please! Flying Monkeys Personal Space: This is a room air freshener. But I can't smell it! It is a very, very light scent. I would not purchase this.

April Favorites!

Favorite TV Show

The Real Housewives of OC Season 9: Yes I know I always say my favorite TV show is a real housewives show. I don't know why exactly I get into these dramas. The only thing I can think of is that I like to study people and their relationships to each other.

Favorite Skin Care

1. Aveeno Smart Essentials Nighttime Moisture Infusion: I wanted a lotion with vitamin E in it because that is supposed to help get rid of acne scars according to my dermatologist. This also has Vitamins A and C and an antioxidant called Southernwood that is supposed to be good for the skin. I already use the daytime lotion in this brand and line, so I thought I would like the night time cream. It smells the same too, which is a good thing.

2. L'Oreal Revitalift Eye Cream: I wanted to start using an eye cream. I heard I should be using an eye cream now that I'm in my 30's. I researched good eye creams and I forget which website, but I think it was a magazine article that recommended this eye cream. It has Pro-Retinol A and Stimuplex that is supposed to reduce wrinkles, firm skin, and reduce the "morning puffy look." I haven't noticed anything. I am just using it to help get the least amount of wrinkles as possible.

3. Dove Pomegranate Body Wash: I got this because I was out of my Lush's Prince Charming Shower Gel, and I really liked the smell of that. The main ingredient in it was pomegranate. I saw this body wash, and I thought it would be good. I have had Dove body washes in the past, and I like how they moisturize the skin. It comes in a big container. This might be even better than Lush's Prince Charming.

Favorite Hair Products

1. Healthy Sexy Hair Color Safe Soy Moisturizing Shampoo and Conditioner: I got my hair dyed for the first time this month! The person who did my hair recommended I use a shampoo and conditioner that was color safe. She used these products on my hair, so I decided to get them. I think they work good. I have the Healthy Sexy Hair Argan Oil, so it goes good with these products.

2. Tresemme Thermal Creations Heat Tamer Leave-In Spray: I had run out of my heat protectant and I needed to get a new one. I wanted to try this because I always hear people rave about it. I love it! It smells good and it gives my hair volume I notice. You can use this for before you blow dry your hair or before you use any kind of heat on your hair.

Favorite Nail Polishes

1. Essie Nail Lacquer in Spin the Bottle: I don't think you can really see in this picture, but this is a nude nail polish. It blends in with my skin color and my flip flops. This is Essie's Spring 2014 collection. It is just a pretty nude. It has no sparkle.

2. Essie Nail Lacquer in Romper Room: This is a pastel pink color from the Essie Spring 2014 collection.

3. Essie Nail Lacquer in Splash of Grenadine: This is a pretty purple color. I thought it matched the flower bush that was in bloom.

4. China Glaze Nail Lacquer in Wish on a Starfish: This nail polish has a sandpaper type feel to it. It is a really pretty pink and gold, sparkly polish.

Favorite Makeup

1. Jordana 12 HR Made to Last Liquid Eyeliner Pencil in Black Point: I heard this was a dupe for Urban Decay's Perversion Eye Liner. It is a really black liner, and inexpensive.

2. NYX Mosaic Powder Blush in Love: This is a medley of 5 matte and shimmer colors that creates a flush of color and dazzling glow. It is orange with a golden shimmer undertone. It is a peachy/apricot color. This is the perfect color for Spring/Summer.

April Empties

These are products I used up, and since I used all of it I either recommend it or not. This includes full size and samples.

1. DIY Brush Spot Cleaner: I finished a whole bottle of this. It worked so well! I used it every day after doing my makeup. I'm definitely going to make more of this. I saved so much money this way! I highly recommend it! It looked it up on Youtube and I found this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X5X27Yl1Oss. It is really easy to make you just need baby shampoo, a squirt bottle and rubbing alcohol. Then the way I use it is I squirt some on a paper towel and clean my brushes with it after I'm done doing my makeup. It disinfects and conditions my brushes.

2. Nioxin Volumizing Reflectives Bliss Thermal Protector: I got this a while ago when I had my haircut. The stylist was using it on me and I needed a heat protectant. It has lasted a long time. I really like it. I didn't repurchase it because I wanted to try the Tresemee one that everyone talks about. I would recommend this Nioxin spray. I would get it again. You can find it in salons. I think it is on the pricier side.

3. The Body Shop Vineyard Peach Cream Body Scrub: I thought this was just ok. It's not my "holy grail" body scrub. I'm going to try out a different one next time. It didn't last a long time. I got this off of Ulta's website. It smells like peaches.

4. Suave Kids Detangling Spray in Double Dutch Apple: I love this stuff! It smells like apples and it detangles my hair. It is only $2! I repurchased this.

5. Maybelline Expert Eyes Moisturizing Eye Makeup Remover for Waterproof Eye Makeup: I love it. I get it whenever I run out. I've been using this for years. I keep it at my makeup table, and use it with a q-tip whenever I need to fix mistakes. There is also a blue one for non waterproof makeup, and it doesn't leave an oily residue.

6. Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel: This smells so good! It has pomegranate juice, marshmallow and vanilla. This was limited edition for Valentine's Day. If it comes back next year, I will repurchase a bigger size. I recommend this. I found a body wash by Dove that has pomegranate in it, and this may be a dupe for Prince Charming!

7. Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait: This is a beautiful shiny peach lipstick. Some people don't like the lip butters because they are disappointed with how much they moisturize. If you need to moisturize your lips, there are better products out there. I just like these lipsticks because of the way they feel and look on my lips. I am going to repurchase this.

8. One 'n Only Argan Oil: I put this in my hair when it is about 50% dry. I put it on the ends of my hair. It helps make the hair healthy. This is a little sample that came with my flat iron. I got it at Sally's Beauty Supply. I recommend this. I'm going to repurchase it.

9. Ralph Lauren Romance Perfume: It is too strong. I don't like it. This is what the Sephora website says about it: "The women's fragrance that evokes the timeless essence of falling in love. Discover the sensual essence of velvety woods, extravagant florals, and seductive musk." I think they put too much musk in this. I wouldn't buy it.

10. Freeman Facial Hydration Mask in Goji Berry: This smells really good. This is what the packaging says: "hydrates and soothes skin, this hydrating mask with the regenerative powers of Goji Berry helps restore healthy skin tone and improves moisture retention. It soothes and hydrates, creating supple, soft skin." I feel like it takes moisture away from my skin. When I had it on, it made my face so itchy, I could hardly wait 10 minutes to take it off. Then when I took it off I waited to see if I wouldn't need any lotion because it was so hydrating. It didn't take long for my skin to feel bothered and I needed lotion. This is a sample mask that I used several times. I wouldn't buy the full size. I have other masks that work better.

I hope these reviews were helpful!
