Lush Easter Haul with Reviews!

I got really excited when I saw that Lush were bringing out Easter and Mother's Day products in the UK. I couldn't wait for it to be released in the U.S. Mother's Day is celebrated in March in the U.K. I think we celebrate it in May, so they haven't put those products on their website yet. Even though I'm not a mother, I plan on doing a Mother's Day haul, too! The products are so cute! And they feel so good for the skin. I have 10 products total (if you count when I break some of them to find the surprise inside). I'm going to do an Easter countdown for 10 days with these products, like I did at Christmas time. I will update this blog with my reviews, and the pictures of what is inside some of these eggs!

1. Lush The Immaculate Eggception (pink): This is the same egg, just different sides of it. Inside of it is either a miniature bunny or chick bath bomb! So you break this open and you have 3 bath bombs total. The bath bombs bubble and sizzle. They turn your bath water a certain color. Sometimes there are glitter or petals inside of them. This is what the website says about this bath bomb, "Inside each giant fizzy egg is a secret surprise. What is it? You'll just have to crack the Bath Bomb shell to find out. Get a hold of your egg, line up the seam with the edge of a hard surface and give it one good WHACK! Once it's cracked, you can drop half the shell in your tub for an energizing ylang yang, grapefruit and vanilla bath. Save the other half and the mysterious treat inside for two more luxurious soaks.

Review: Inside the pink egg was a baby chick! Isn't that cute?! So now I have 3 bath bombs! I'm going to take a bath with the chick first. The chick turned the bath water pink. It smells so good. The little orange triangle it is holding smells like grapefruit. It was a nice relaxing bath.

The other parts of the egg as expected turned the bath water pink. The side with the yellow, made a yellow cloud.

This is my favorite thing I got from Lush! I'm glad I got two of them! I really recommend it. It smells like sweet candy.

2. Lush The Immaculate Eggception (yellow): I wanted to get another one because I thought maybe there would be something different inside of it. When I'm ready to take a bath, I will break it open and take a picture of what was inside.

When you crack it open this is what is inside:

A bunny! And the nose is a piece of something that smells like pure grapefruit! The chick has something similar. I love these bath bombs because they are the best bang for the buck. You get three baths out of one egg. I also like finding the surprise on the inside.

Review: The little bunny didn't do anything in the bathtub. It smelled good, but it didn't turn the water any color or make bubbles. This wasn't a very good bath bomb.

The other part of the bath bomb was yellow and it worked like a normal bath bomb. It turned the bath water yellow and it smelled like candy. It smells like vanilla.

3. Lush Golden Egg Bath Bomb: This is what the website says, "Your Easter egg hunt stops here! This spectacular new invention has combined a Bath Bomb and a Luxury Bath Melt to create (drumroll please…) the Bath Bomb Melt! The creamy, moisturizing cocoa butter exterior encases a fizzy Bath Bomb center, and the whole egg is dusted in a delicate golden luster. Even better? This new invention has the classic honey-toffee fragrance of our best-selling Honey I Washed The Kids soap. Wherever your Easter egg hunt begins, make sure it finishes with a Golden Egg bath!" This does smell like honey-toffee!

Review: It turns the bath yellow and gold glitter. It makes the skin so soft.

4. Lush Fluffy Egg Bath Bomb: This is the same egg, just different sides of it. This is what the website says about it, "The original Easter egg-shaped Bath Bomb, Fluffy egg is a classic customer favorite that we bring back each Easter for its masses of incredibly loyal fans. While we love the cheery pink color, it's the intoxicating candy-sweet aroma that will really draw you in to its fluffy ways! Pop this one into the tub to sink into softening, brilliantly pink water, and you'll be left smelling like scrumptious vanilla-cotton candy. Delicious!" I got the Christmas Lush products and the Valentine's Day ones, and my favorite products were the bath bombs.

Review: It does smell like candy. I can't put my finger on which one. It turns the bath water bright pink.

5. Lush Bunny Bubble Bar: Isn't this so cute?! This is what the website says, "Hop in the tub with this adorable bubbly bunny for silky, sweet waters and lots of fluffy foam! We've added loads of coconut oil and shea butter to soften and moisturize the skin, and the sweet, comforting fragrance of Fair Trade vanilla absolute to calm the mind. Tiny blue cornflower petals are at the center of this Bunny's tummy and will swirl about in the tub for the ultimate springtime bathing experience. This little love is big enough for two baths, so hop to it!" This is how to use: "Crumble under running water as you fill the tub. The stronger your water pressure, the more bubbles you will make; we encourage experimentation for best results. To get the most out of your bubble bars, keep them in a cool, dry place."

Review: I crumbled it under the running water and it was bubbly. It turns the bath water a purple/pink color. It didn't look like cute blue cornflower petals, but little gross weeds! I didn't like that part. I wouldn't get this again, although it is cute.

6. Sexy Peel: I got this as a sample. This is a soap. "Freshly squeezed citrus juices clean the skin and get you smiling." I think I will use this whenever I take a bath.

Review: It smells like a sweet lemon.

Elf Haul!

I love looking at people's Elf hauls, whether on Youtube or blogs because it helps me get an idea of what is good to get at Elf. Elf is always doing deals on their website. I think one day I was suckered into a deal, and got a bunch of things. Initially, I wanted to get their mineral powder, but for some reason they didn't send it! It must have been a mistake. But the truth is I didn't need it anyway because I'm happy with the powder I have, and the Elf Mineral Powder is too messy.

1. Elf HD Cream Blush in Headliner: This is the lightest shade of the HD cream blushes. I put a tiny bit on the back of my hand, and blended it out with a stippling brush. A little goes a long way! This is a mauve pink color. This is what it says on the back of the box, "Naturally sculpts and highlights for a soft focus effect that is great for everyday use. The Vitamin E enriched formula conditions and hydrates the skin for a healthy glow. The velvety soft, lightweight and highly pigmented color creates a long lasting result for all day wear." I like that it has Vitamin E in it because my dermatologist was recommending it to me for getting rid of acne scars. It is extremely pigmented! I was surprised. I don't know how long wearing it is. I am wearing it today, so I will report back to say how long it lasted. The HD cream blushes are $3 each.

2. Elf HD Cream Blush in Superstar: This is the second darkest color of the cream blushes. It is a coral pink. I wore this today. I think I applied too much by accident. I didn't realize how pigmented it would be! This is very nice! I hope it lasts as long as the packaging says it will. This blush did last a long time on my face!

3. Elf HD Cream Blush in Diva: This is the third darkest shade. It is a fuchsia pink. It might be too dark for my skin, but I decided to get it anyway. It is a beautiful color for the Spring and Summer. There are 2 dark shades, Encore and Showstopper. I didn't get those because I think those would be too dark for my skin color. My skin color is usually the lightest foundation you can get.

4. Elf Makeup Remover Cleansing Cloths: I used these to remove the blush on the back of my hand, and it worked so well! The cloths are a big size, and they are saturated with solution. I like how there is a closure on top and a sticker on top so you can make sure the cloths are really sealed. It comes with 20 cloths, which doesn't seem like a lot to me. I'm used to the Epielle cloths. It comes with 30 for a $1. The Elf cloths were $3. I didn't like how they were inside the package. I had to take a bunch out to get to them, and it made it difficult putting the extras back in. The cloths were twisted around in the package. This is what the packaging says, "Gently and easily cleans skin to remove all traces of makeup and dirt, ever waterproof mascara. Gentle cloths are soft and soothing for even the most sensitive skin. Infused with Aloe Vera Extract for deep hydration and moisture. Great for on-the-go travel." You can also get exfoliating cleansing cloths.

5. Lotion Wipes in Vanilla & Coconut: I used these on my hands and arms after I washed off my hands. These wipes are amazing! I have never heard of lotion wipes before. It comes with 15 sheets. They are $3. They come in a variety of scents: Milk & Honey, Cucumber & Melon, Peony Petal, Shea Butter, and Sweet Mango. I didn't know which kind to get. I'm glad I got Vanilla & Coconut. This is what the packaging says, "Infused with Aloe, Cocoa Butter, Vitamin E, Soy, Ginkgo Biloba, Coconut Milk, and Sweet Almond Oil to revitalize and nourish the skin."

6. Elf Mineral Infused Face Primer: I was curious to try out this primer. This was $6. The packaging says, "Transform your face into a flawless and smooth canvas. Developed to combat excess oil, flaky dryness, enlarged pores, and fine lines to result in a natural and youthful looking radiance. This clear multipurpose skin primer will prepare your skin so makeup goes on evenly for a lasting satin finish." I wore this today, and it feels just like the Benefit Porefessional or the Smashbox Primer. I don't know if it did a good job making my makeup last long, though. It was a good prep for foundation.

7. Elf Mineral Eyeshadow Primer: I have tried the regular primer, and it doesn't work well on me. I heard that the mineral primer was better, and even just as good as Urban Decay's Primer Potion or Too Faced's Shadow Insurance! I haven't tried this yet. I will come back and give my review once I've used this. My eyes need a primer because they are oily. The packaging says, "This gentle and completely sheer Eyeshadow Primer has key Vitamins A, C and E to help prevent aging and moisturizes the skin. The formula glides on easily and disappears instantly to create longer lasting, crease-proof eyeshadow. The Mineral Eyeshadow Primer is designed to be used with your favorite mineral eyeshadow to provide ultimate staying power for beautiful and vibrant color that lasts." It was $3.

8. Elf Eye Refresh: This is what the packaging says, "The cooling sensation of the rollerball brightens and refreshes the eye area to help alleviate under eye puffiness and dark circles. Infused with key ingredients Pomegranate, Rosemary, Green Tea, Cucumber and Grape to hydrate and nourish the skin. Awaken the skin throughout the day with this perfect portable on the spot pick-me-up treatment." I used this today. I have been sick, and I have under eye circles. I didn't notice them disappearing, but there was a cooling sensation that felt very nice. I brought this with me to work and reapplied over my makeup on my break. You can use this under or over your makeup.

9. Elf Makeup Mist & Set: I've used this many times, and I love it. You can use it to spray on your face as a setting spray, if your face is hot, if your face is too powdery, or you can spray this on eyeshadow to make it more pigmented. It has aloe, green tea, cucumber, and vitamins A, C & E. It is $3. I really recommend this!

March Empties

These are some of the products I've used up. Since I used it all up, I can make a good review of it and tell you what I would repurchase and recommend, and which I didn't care that much for. I hope this is helpful!

1. Atelier Cologne Vanille Insensee: It smells ok. I wouldn't buy it. It has notes of Lime, Cedrat, Coriander, Jasmine, Vetiver, Oak Moss, Vanilla, Oak Wood, and Amber. Sephora says it is "magical, evocative, and electric." I don't think it smells like that. It's just not my kind of perfume I guess.

2. Benefit The Porefessional: I got a little sample of this in my Benefit Advent Calendar. I've used this before, and this is my number one face primer out of all the ones I've used. It is expensive though, and I already have face primers I still can use, so I'm not going to repurchase this. Maybe on a special day to treat myself I would buy this. I definitely recommend it! It minimizes the pores, and makes your foundation last a long time.

3. Olay Moisturizing Body Wash in Silk Whimsy: This smells like roses. I love this body wash, but i think it was limited edition. I have other body washes I can use, so I'm not going to repurchase this. If it was available I would buy this again. I'm not sure why it was limited edition.

4. Lush's Magic Wand Bubble Bar: It broke off the stick when I was using it! It made a little bit of bubbles, but I think getting a bottle of bubble solution would be better for making bubbles then getting this. This was limited edition for Christmas, and it was fun while it lasted. It was very cute. This would be fun for a child. I think getting Mr. Bubbles from the kid's section would be a better way to save money, and get the same result. My grandma always used dish soap to make a bubble bath for me. For Mother's Day Lush is bringing out flowers on a stick, with the same bubble idea. I wouldn't get this again. I think it's a waste of money.

5. Urban Decay All Nighter Spray: I got a little bottle of this. I love this stuff! I've used it before, and it works so well. It sets your makeup to last all day. I spray it on my face before foundation, and I spray it on my stippling brush. Then I dot my face with foundation, and use the brush to blend it in. It gives a beautiful finish. I'm sorry I'm out of it, but I have the Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray. I think this will work well too. (This was before I ran out of it.)

6. Elf Makeup Remover Pen: It was good while it lasted, but it didn't last very long. Once the tip was used, it stopped cleaning up. I put this in my makeup bag, and fixed my eye makeup during breaks at work if my eyes were looking bad. It only lasted a few times. I wouldn't repurchase this. It is better to use eye makeup remover and a q-tip.

7. Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder in Translucent: There is still some powder in the pan, but it isn't coming onto the brush. This is my favorite powder from the drugstore. I repurchased this. My all time favorite powder is Bare Mineral's Mineral Veil.

8. Maybelline Dream Matte Powder in Light: Just like the Rimmel powder there is still powder on the pan, but it is not coming onto the brush. I don't think I got as much product as compared to the Rimmel powder. I think they both did a good job as a powder. I'm not going to repurchase this.

9. Benefit Bad Gal Lash Mascara: I love the Benefit mascaras. I got this in my Benefit Advent Calendar. It was just a sample size. I won't repurchase this. I'm going to get a drugstore one next. Even though I love the Benefit mascaras, they are too expensive. I only use a mascara for three months because I heard they go bad after three months. I do recommend the Benefit mascaras, if you want to spend the money.

10. Elf Makeup Mist & Spray: I like this. When my skin is too powdery, I spray this all over my face to make it look more natural. If I want to wet my eye shadow, I use this. It has aloe, green tea, cucumber, and vitamins A, C & E, so it is good for the skin. It is only $3. I repurchased this. I would rather get this than the Urban Decay setting sprays.

11. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray: I don't know if this controls my oil very well. I still need to powder my skin several times in the day. I can't tell the difference between this, and the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray or the Elf Makeup Mist & Spray. I won't repurchase this.

Stila Best of Kitten Set Looks

I found this in the sale section of Sephora's website during the holiday season. I got it for $29, and it has an $82 value. I love Stila's Kitten eye shadow, and I found myself wearing this anytime I was trying to throw a look together. This kit comes with the Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid in Kitten, Stila's Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Angel Fish, the Stila Eye Shadow in Kitten, and Stila's Lip Glaze in Kitten. It also comes with a really pretty makeup bag.

I wanted to find more looks using Stila's Kitten Eye Shadow and the other items that came in the bag. I just found looks for the eye shadow and the shimmer liquid. These are the looks I liked.

My Thoughts: I love the colors in this look. The Coralina blush is so pretty! The lip balm isn't very pigmented. I wouldn't rush out to buy it. Just use any lip balm. You can wear this look any time, not just summer. It is beautiful!

My Thoughts: You don't need any brushes for this look! It is really natural and pretty. It would be a good look for the beach because of the cream blush, cream bronzer, and long wearing eye liner. The skin has a nice glow. There are a lot of looks by cosmetic couturier using the Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid in Kitten. I'm just doing a few looks.

February Favorites!

My Favorite Book: Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater: I read this book very, very slowly, during my breaks at work. It is a sweet love story about a girl and a boy that turns into a wolf when it is cold. They are star crossed lovers. It is the first book in a trilogy.

Beauty Favorites

1. Neutrogena Shine Control Primer

After using Benefit Porefessional, I had this primer. I didn't like it in the Summertime because it didn't help with my oil. Now that it is Winter my skin is drier, and it works a lot better. So I recommend this.

2. Lush The Kiss Lip Balm

I got this for Valentine's Day from Lush. It is a nice smelling, nice feeling lip balm. I wore it when my lips felt chapped. It was limited edition just for the holiday.

3. Lush Prince Charming Shower Gel

Oh, I just love this stuff! It smells so good. It smells the most like grapefruit. It is a citrusy smell. It helps to wake you up and energize you. It leaves the skin so soft, I didn't need to put lotion on afterwards. It was also limited edition for Valentine's Day.

4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pango Peach

This is a beautiful, pigmented, peach lip gloss from the drugstore. It feels so good on the lips. I think it looks good with my coloring.

5. Stila In the Moment Palette

This is one of my favorite palettes. It has purples and neutrals, which I love. I did a blog post about it this month, so I was using it a lot. I really recommend these Stila palettes. They are great quality.

6. Urban Decay De-Slick Oil-Control Makeup Setting Spray

I got this off of Hautelook.com. I got the All Nighter Setting Spray too. I can't tell the difference between the two. They both help make my makeup last. I heard of a trick by LolaMarie on Youtube. You spray your face first, then dot on foundation, then you spray your brush and blend in the foundation. This makes your face look really natural and the makeup lasts. That is what I did with this.

7. Crown Brush Palette 36 Color Leopard Print Neutral

This month I was obsessed with duping the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. I got the Crown Brush Palette off of Ebay. The third row, 5th color in is a dupe for Limit, which I used a lot this month. I found out about it from Diva Makeup Queen on Youtube. I did a blog post on the dupes for the Naked 3 palette this month. It is a light dusty rose, matte shadow.

8. Lorac Pro Palette

This is a very beautiful palette. The top row is matte and the bottom row is shimmery. I have heard so many talk about this palette on Youtube. Everyone is in love with it. I just wanted it to dupe one of the shadows for the Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette. It is Mauve. It is the top row, 5th color in. It is a duper for Nooner, which is a medium pinky-brown mauve that is matte. It has great pigmentation. I need to use this palette more because there are so many looks I could create with it. I may do a blog post devoted to this palette alone.

9. Thayers Alcohol-Free Toner in Rose Petal Witch Hazel

I think I heard about this from pinksofoxy on Youtube. I just started using it this month. It is a good toner. It smells like roses. I think it does a good job of getting off any residue or makeup left over from cleansing. It is gentle on the face too.

10. Bonnebell Lip Lites in Strawberry Parfait

I heard this was a dupe for NARS Turkish Delight Lip Gloss. It took me forever to find it. Finally, I found a kit of four different Bonnebell Lip Glosses, with this inside. It smells like strawberries. It is the perfect pink lip gloss. I love it!

Drugstore Haul!

I am really excited about the new makeup I got. I haven't done a haul in awhile, so I wanted to share with you some new things at the drugstore.

1. Wet 'n Wild Walking the Red Carpet: left palette This is limited edition for the Spring. This was the last one left in my Walgreens. It has pretty neutrals and a beautiful sparkly gold.

2. Wet 'n Wild Flirting at the After Party: right palette. This is also limited edition for the Spring. It has pretty shimmery and matte purple and orchid colors.

3. Revlon Nail Art Sun Candy in Celestial Shine: It looks yellow in the picture, but it is more of a nude shade. It has pretty gold glitter on one side. I thought these were pretty nail polishes for the Spring. I'm going to paint all my nails with the solid color, and do one or two nails with a glitter top coat.

4. Revlon Nail Art Sun Candy in Sun Shower: It looks green in the picture, but it is more of a blue green color. It has beautiful blue and green glitter on the other side.

5. Revlon Nail Art Sun Candy in Solar Flare: It looks orange in the picture, but it is more of a peach. It has similar glitter to Celestial Shine.

6. Revlon Nail Art Sun Candy in Pink Dawn: It is pink on one side, and pink and gold glitter on the other side.

I don't know if the nail polish is limited edition. I found these in the regular nail polish section of Revlon at my local Walgreens.
