Summer 2014 Makeup Favorites!

I'm so happy for summer to be here! I love when the weather gets nicer. In Oregon that means less rain! I have done other blog posts for favorite summer makeup looks if you want to find some more in addition to these looks, look under the tag summer or summer makeup. I might do more posts of this topic this year depending on the amount of looks I find that I can dupe and that I think look good. I always try the look out on myself, and see how I like it. If I like it I write it down for the blog. I love finding dupes to makeup other people use from my own collection of makeup. When I use alternative things I will list it beside what the makeup artist used. I also say at the end my overall thoughts on the look. I try to sum up what the end result is. d. Aubrey 35 Design Gel Natural Style Management: I used a regular hair gel. About 2 dollops. Use a chopstick to make an air bubble so it will go in the bottle.
e. Shake it up.
f. Jasmine Absolute, about 14 drops, shake it up before every use
g. Sparkle Coastal Scents Mirage Gold, 1/2 teaspoon: I don't have this, so I skipped this step.
My Thoughts: It makes my hair naturally curly. The way it looks when I'm at the beach. It is really easy.

My Thoughts: I like this look. It reminds me of the beach. The colors used are like the colors seen at the beach. This is all using cruelty free makeup. It looks natural. After watching her video, I ordered the Pacifica products from their website. It shipped really nicely. I like this palette and the lip products. I didn't know this but Pacifica is made in Portland, OR (where I live)!

My Thoughts: This look reminds me of the spring. It looks like flower colors. There is a light purple on the eyes with yellow. The cheeks are peachy pink. The lips are a light pink gloss. But this can be good for the summer too. This is an example of a look using color, yet it is wearable. I love panacea's personality. She seems so sweet.

My Thoughts: There is nothing on the eyes except liquid liner. The cheeks and lips are orange. This is a pretty look if you have warm undertones. The tutorial is in another language, but I still duped it! I love newapplearial's makeup looks. I wish they were in English or I would dupe more of them. It is hard for me to dupe when I don't know what is being said or the name of the product.

Fall Makeup Looks Part 2

I love the fall makeup looks because I think the looks of this season go best with my coloring. Have you ever heard of being color matched to a season? I was matched to fall. This was a thing that was popular in the 80's, and my mom did a workshop on it. She always dressed me in fall colors even though in the 80's those weren't popular colors. There were more pinks and purples. I don't know if everyone fits a certain season, but I think it works for me. I have been finding a lot of makeup looks to try out. I want to share them with you.

My Thoughts: This has fall colors all over the face. The eyes are coppery, the face is bronzed, and the lips are a glossy nude. The eyes really stand out. I think Cheryl is a good makeup artist. I just recently found her blog, and then saw that she made videos. I'm really loving her videos. She seems really humble and sweet. She is pregnant. She is absolutely gorgeous.

My Thoughts: This is a really pretty fall look. The eyes are a smoky taupe. The cheeks are a bronzed rose color, perfect for cold months. The lips are a glossy nude, so the eyes are the focus. I think I like it best when the eyes are the focus. When I'm not wearing much eye shadow I feel like I look tired, and also it is out of my comfort zone to wear bold lips.

4. Maybelline Fall 2013 Runway Collection: "Autumn Dream" Eyeshadow Palette, Swatches & Makeup Look by Beauty Gala http://www.beautygala.com/brands/maybelline-fall-2013-runway-collection-autumn-dream-eyeshadow-palette-swatches-makeup-look/
a. Using one side of a flat eyeshadow brush, apply the purple over entire lid.
b. Dip the other side of the brush in the blue, and pat on the outer half of lid.
c. Flip the brush over again and apply the purple where the two colors meet.
d. Keep flipping the brush back and forth with each color until you get a really nice blended gradient look.
e. She did the same effect to the lower lash line.
f. Apply the emerald green shade in the crease, and blend it out well with a fluffy blending brush.
g. Use the off white in the inner corners of eyes and browbone as a highlight.
h. Black Eye Liner to waterline
i. Mascara
My Thoughts: I like the colors in this quad because they are jewel tones and I heard that that is "in" this fall. It looks dramatic, but it is pretty. For blush I'm wearing Milani Baked Blush in Luminoso because I think the peach looks pretty with the purple eye makeup. For lips I'm wearing Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pango Peach to go with the blush, and it is a gloss so it doesn't take away from the dramatic eye look.

My Thoughts: I should have known better because this isn't the first time I used this eyeshadow, but when using w/w vanity 3rd color, be very careful because it is very pigmented. I put too much on. The eyes are pretty neutral. The blush is one of my favorite peachy pink colors. The lips are a beautiful color for the fall and winter time. The sugar plum lip butter is one of my favorite lip products.

Ok, I know the holidays have past, but there were so many great holiday looks I found in November and December! I don't want to stop trying these looks out. They are so pretty! And since I have been wearing them in January, I have found it doesn't matter that it is not the holidays, if the look is good, it will look good no matter when you wear it. Office Look #5: Panacea81 Friday

You can't see my eyes very well, but you can see how my cheeks have a nice natural blush to them and the lips have a pretty color.

You can better see the eyeshadow in this picture. It's just a sparkly taupe color.

My lips look so sad here. xD This is my serious face. Anyway, I think you can better see the lip gloss in this picture. It's just a really pretty, natural pinky/peach color. This is my favorite lip gloss I have.

Office Look #1: Panacea81 Monday

Panacea81 is another makeup guru that I love. She is from England, and has a really cute accent. She did a series of looks to wear for work. I got inspired and I'm duping her looks using my own cheap makeup. Most of it is inexpensive anyway. I also wanted to try other looks for work I found and liked on YouTube. I hope you like this series! The first look is Panacea81's Monday office look. Just use what you would normally use, that's what I did.

1. She did concealer, powder, and then foundation. I did foundation, concealer, and then powder. I don't understand why she did it in the order she did it.

3. Mac Vanilla Pigment on the lid: I used Wet 'n Wild Palette in Lust, top right color.

4. L'Oreal HIP in Charged on lower lash line: I used Wet 'n Wild Palette in Vanity, bottom, right color.

5. Black pencil on top lash line: I used a dark brown liner because I think black is too harsh on me.

7. Mac Harmony contour the hollows of the cheeks and on the cheeks and temples: I used what I use to bronze. You can use whatever you normally would use. I use Mac Studio Careblend Pressed in Medium Deep. I got matched for a good contour shade at a Mac counter. The girl was really helpful and she used a powder rather than a bronzer because it was matte and she said it would work best with my ultra light skin.

9. Maybelline lipgloss a pale biscuit colour with ivory and gold shimmer, She didn't know the name: I used Urban Decay Lip Junkie in Midnight Cowboy. Earlier in the morning I used my new Birchbox lip tint called fresh Sugar Rose Tinted Lip Treatment SPF 15, so I think that's why my lips look so rosy in the picture. It isn't from the lip gloss. The lip gloss is more of a sheer nude sparkly color.

My Thoughts: It's really easy. It looks natural and pretty. I found it weird how she put bronzer on her cheeks and temples and put the highlighter there too, but it ends up looking good.

As you can see the look is super natural. I think it looks pretty though. I don't look like I have a mask of makeup on. You can kind of see the dark brown color on my lower lash line. My lid color is nude. What do you think? What do you wear to work? I work at a school, so this look seems appropriate. I'm going to be at recess today and it will be hot, sunny weather. I think this will be good. I'm bringing my contour and lip gloss to touch up during the day.
