Pretty Green Look ~Inspired by Jaclyn Hill

Today I copied a look by Jaclyn Hill. I don't have the Morphe Jaclyn Hill palette. I just used what eyeshadows I already had. I love Temptalia's blog because she has swatches of the colors, describes them, and lists a bunch of dupes for each shade in case you already own them. To do this look I had all the colors except for the orange yellow color. I tried to mix a red and yellow to make one, but it didn't look right. I think if I were to do this look again I would just use Too Faced's Peanut Butter in the crease and not worry about the Creamsicle color.

Kat Von D Esperanza Palette Dupes!!!

This is a popular palette I have been hearing about on Youtube this year. I have done some looks with this palette, so I already had a lot of the dupes figured out. I decided to finish up duping the palette and making a blog post on it. I hope you find this helpful! This was limited edition. I found it here: Amazon for $56. Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powder Dupes!

I feel like I've been on a duping frenzy! I keep getting ideas for new dupe posts. I always keep track of dupes I find, but I don't always post them. A dupe is slang for duplicate. It is a product that is similar to another product, and hopefully it is cheaper. I don't know how close my dupes really are because I don't own any Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders. They cost $35. You can find them here: Sephora. There is also a palette that comes with three powders and it includes "Incandescent Light." This isn't all the Ambient Powders. These are just the ones I have seen people use a lot and I have duped.

1. Diffused Light: Sephora describes this as "soft, warm pale yellow powder." My dupe is a cream product, Benefit's Watt's Up!

2. Dim Light: "neutral peach beige powder" My dupe is Wet 'n Wild Brûlée. This is bizarre because Wet 'n Wild Brûlée is only $1.99 at drugstores! It is an eye shadow, but I used it to dupe Dim Light!

3. Incandescent Light: "pearlescent powder" My dupe is I think dead on. Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls in Translucent Pearl.

4. Luminous Light: "champagne pearl powder" My dupe is Elf Blush in Gotta Glow.

5. Radiant Light: "golden beige powder" My dupe is Wet 'n Wild Color Icon Bronzer in Reserve Your Cabana. People always wonder why this is considered a bronzer because it looks like pale powder, but one time I tried to use it all over my face as a powder and it was darker than my skin color! So I think it is kind of a joke. It is for people as pale as me who need to "reserve their cabana" because they are going to get a sunburn if they don't!

Too Faced Chocolate Bar Dupes!!!

Urban Decay Naked 3 Dupes and Looks!

Ever since the Naked 3 palette came out, there has been a lot of talk about it. I have seen a lot of tutorials using it on Youtube. Immediately, since I first heard about it I was thinking about duping it. For some reason, it is more fun for me to find the dupes than to purchase the palette. I already have dupes for the first 2 Naked palettes. This was hard for me to find the dupes in my collection. I have given up a couple of times, to be honest. But I really wanted to dupe the palette, and be able to create the beautiful looks I've been seeing. I heard that this is a good palette for hazel eyes because pink and purple contrast well with the color.

To find the dupes I used websites with swatches, descriptions, and people's own dupes. The thing I find is good about the dupes is that none of my dupes are powdery or have fall out. I have heard that Dust and Trick are very glittery and have tons of fall out in the Naked 3 palette. It's a very good video.

My Thoughts: I bought the $20 eye liner by Em Michelle Phan in Ro's Gold, and it does not go on my waterline. I'm very disappointed. Even if it did the black liner on the tight line would still smudge on top of the lower waterline. It doesn't look bad though. I heard that NYX just came out with a rose gold eye pencil, and that should be good. And a lot cheaper! I feel stupid for spending $20 for an eye liner! Overall, this is a good look. The cheeks and lips are nude, and the eyes are rose gold with black liner.

My Thoughts: I think this makes my hazel eyes look green. I has mauve on the lid and dark grey on the crease. The eyes are heavily lined. It's a dark, smoky look. I like how she uses a peach blush, rather than a pink blush. It is too much pink if you wear pink on the eye and on the cheeks and lips. I have all of the Revlon Lip Butters! I love the way they feel on the lips. I sprayed Elf Makeup Mist & Set because I thought I looked like I put too much powder on.

My Thoughts: After doing the eyeshadow, I used makeup remover to clean up the sides of the eyes and the inner corners because I felt like I had too much shadow there. I think I use brushes that are too big for my eyes sometimes. The eyes look golden brown. The cheeks have no blush, but bronzer instead. The lips are pink with a golden sparkle. It does look like a soft, smokey eye.

My Thoughts: This is a dramatic, purple smokey eye. The cheeks are a warm plum. The lipstick is pink and the lip gloss is a mauvey-plummy pink. I think the mauve colors bring out the green in my hazel eyes. I did do the wing. Practice makes perfect.

My Thoughts: This has pink on the lids, and mauve in the crease. I didn't put bronzer on because I've been thinking that it looks a little weird on me, when I contour with it. The cheeks are peach, and the lips are a glossy pink. The pink makes the look romantic.

My Thoughts: I did the wing, and I think the liner makes the eyes look glamorous. The lids are pink and the crease is a taupe brown. This look really brings out the green in my eyes. I've just noticed for a lot of these looks I've been using Revlon Pink Pout. It is a blue-toned pink. The lip gloss makes the lips mauve. The blush is rosy. This looks like a good Valentine's Day look.

Too Faced Be Merry & Bright Palette Dupes!

This is the last of the Too Faced palettes I'm going to dupe. They have another palette that is so cute. It is a little cell phone case, that you can actually use for a case. I decided not to dupe it because it doesn't come with a look book. I'm all about the look books. This has two different palettes. One is called Be Merry and the other Be Bright. It is only sold at Ulta. My Thoughts: I like the green on the lid and brown in the crease. I actually used the wrong blush by mistake. I used the Physicians Formula Happy Booster Blush in Warm. I like this blush. I'm going to match the blush with Buxom's Creamsicle Lip Gloss. The green on the eyes just feels festive to me. I like this look.

My Thoughts: I like it. The eyes are neutral, the cheeks are natural, and there is more bronzer than I realized the look shows to put on. Yesterday, I didn't look at the chart, but today I went to Ulta's website and got a close up on the chart and it shows where to put the bronzer. It has you put it in a lot more places than I normally put bronzer. I don't think it is supposed to be a contour, but more like warming up your whole face. I hope it doesn't look too strange on me, since I'm so pale. I think the look is good. It says it is a weekend look, but I think you can wear this look whenever.

My Thoughts: I thought it was weird using Wish as a base because it is a brown and darker than my skin, but it ends up looking like I put bronzer all over the lid, so it doesn't look bad. I don't like the teal and pink on the lid. It's a little too crazy for my tastes. My dupes are pigmented though. I used the Benefit Dandelion Lip Gloss again. I got compliments on my Down Boy cheeks today. It is a light matte pink. I like it. I don't like this look though.

Too Faced Joy to the Girls Palette Dupes!

I'm loving Too Faced's holiday palettes right now. When I first saw people blogging about them and making Youtube videos about them, I got really excited because I wanted to dupe them. I actually was going to start doing the makeup looks in December, but I couldn't wait. Even though the shadow names are holiday themed, it doesn't mean the looks are for winter or for the holidays. This comes with a look book, which is one of the reasons I wanted to dupe it. I love following guides. I used the descriptions and swatches from Temptalia's blog: http://www.temptalia.com/faced-joy-girls-eyeshadow-palette-review-photos-swatches. She gives colors that are similar to the shades, which are sort of like dupes, but she doesn't call them dupes. This palette also comes with a mascara. I don't have the dupe for it, I just use whatever mascara I'm currently using.

My Thoughts: I think Sin looks really pale next to the Mulberry color. I don't think I like it, but I'm not done with the whole look yet. It looks better once you put the liner and mascara on. I think this brings out the green in my eyes. It's pretty. For blush and lips I'm going to wear peach because that looks good with purple eyes. I will use The Balm Frat Boy blush and Buxom Creamsicle. I've been loving those two this month. Overall, this looks like a Spring time look! It's really pretty.

2. Weekend

My Thoughts: This reminds me of the first look. A pale base, a pale lid color, and a dark color in the crease. This time the dark color in the crease is brown, not purple. I think it looks odd to have the blue in the inner corner. My dupe isn't very pigmented, so it is hardly noticeable. Usually you want to eliminate the blue in the inner corner of the eye. I like this eye look better than the last one. It is warmer. I don't like the blue, but it isn't that big of a deal. I'm going to use pink for blush and lips because the eyes are warm. I'm going to use Rimmel Lasting Finish Soft Colour Blush in Tickle Me Pink. For lip gloss I'm using Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss in Pink Pop. This is my first time using this blush, and it makes my cheeks look like they've been out in the cold and naturally turned a bright pink. It is very cute.

3. Party Time

My Thoughts: The Newport Nights peach blends right into my skin tone. Maui Wowie is really pale. It isn't medium-dark. I'm going to switch to a darker gold. I put L'Oreal Hip Duo in Dynamic, left side on my lid on top of Maui Wowie. It just made the gold stand out more. The Chimney color also is not medium-dark to me. It is a light silver, but the silver and gold together remind me of a Christmas or New Year's Eve party. I used Benefit Coralista blush because I just got it today from my Advent Calendar! It is a mini size. I love it! It is so flattering to my skin tone and coloring. I'm glad to see if my dupes were accurate. For lips I'm going to wear my new favorite lip gloss, Creamsicle by Buxom. Too Faced A Few of My Favorite Things Palette Dupes!

I don't remember when I first heard about this palette. It was probably from a blog. I was so enchanted! This is one of my all time favorite songs. It is from "The Sound of Music." I had problems duping this palette. The palette comes with a look book (which I love) and I copied each look with my dupes, but each time I wasn't happy with how they turned out. I didn't want to make a blog post if the looks were no good. But I was so disappointed because I thought this palette was really cool. I think it just goes to show the saying, "If at first you don't succeed, try, try again!" Sorry if I'm being too corny. Today I decided to redo my dupes and look at other blogs. The blog that helped me the most was Temptalia's. She duped this palette already. Some of her dupes were from makeup I had or makeup that I had dupes of! So this was really handy to me. I also love her descriptions. So if you have duped something and it doesn't turn out well, maybe look for another blog review with different descriptions and it will help you get better dupe results.

a. Base: Whiskers on Kittens, I think the base is from the lashes to the eyebrow. Temptalia's dupe is Wet 'n Wild Newport Night, upper right color. The description is "pale peach with a hint of pink and gold sparkle." The dupe is a matte color though, but I think that is good for a base not to be sparkly.
b. Lid: Moon on Their Wings. Temptalia's dupe is MAC Retrospeck, and the dupe I have for that which unfortunately I'm not sure where I found this from is Maybelline Enchanted Forest, the upper right shade. When I first started keeping a list of dupes I didn't keep track of my sources. The description is "warm, golden beige with a frosted, metallic finish and gold micro-glitter."
c. Crease: Chocolate Milk. Temptalia's description is "medium brown with warm, orange undertones and a matte finish." My dupe is Wet 'n Wild Nude Awakenings, 3rd color.
d. Line: Dark Chocolate. I think this means to line the upper and lower lashes. Vampy Varnish's description is "dark brown matte." My dupe is Maybelline Eye Studio Quad in Fall Temptation, 4th color.
e. Mascara: Too Faced Better Than Sex. It comes with the palette. I just use the mascaras I have been using: Benefit They're Real! (top lashes) and Maybelline Lash Discovery Mini-Brush Waterproof in Very Black (bottom lashes).
f. Bronzer: Too Faced Chocolate Soleil. It comes with the palette. I guess it even smells like chocolate! Vampy Varnish describes it as a "light matte bronze." Somewhere I heard the dupe for this was NYC's Bronzer in Sunny. I put it on the hollows of my cheeks, temples, hairline, and under the jaw.
g. Blush: Too Faced Melt Into Spring. It comes with the palette. "Silver white winters that melt into Spring." I just remembered these lyrics when I was listening to the song again. Vampy Varnish describes this as a "bright peach matte." My dupe is The Balm Frat Boy. This is one of my favorite blushes.
h. Lip Injection Color: Bee Sting. It comes with the palette. I forgot what this had to do with the song. "When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I'm feeling sad. I simply remember my favorite things, and then I don't feel so bad." Vampy Varnish describes this as a "pale pink/peach, shiny." My dupe is Buxom Full-On Lip Cream in Creamsicle.
My Thoughts: The eye look is really pretty and classic. The blush is a pretty peachy pink color. The lip gloss is like Bee Sting because it makes your lips plump up. The Creamsicle lip gloss smells like vanilla, and it doesn't sting, it gives a minty feeling on the lips. This look is really beautiful.

Somewhere I found out MAC Blanc Type is a dupe for Bone, and somewhere I found out Almay Trio for Hazels, cream shade is a dupe for Blanc Type. The description is, "pale, cool-toned ivory with a matte finish." My dupe is more of a satin finish, but it is close enough of a matte for me.
b. Lid: Evergreen. Temptalia's dupe is MAC Humid. Somewhere I heard a dupe for that is Wet 'n Wild Envy. The description is, "medium-dark forest green with cool undertones and a pearly finish."
c. Crease: Buche de Noel. The description is, "medium dark brown with a golden, frosted sheen." I found a good dupe for this is in Urban Decay's Mariposa Palette, Wreckage.
d. Line: Blue Satin Sashes. Temptalia's dupe is MAC Prussian. Somewhere I heard Wet 'n Wild Pride, 3rd color is a dupe for Prussian. The description is, "deep, dark blue-teal with a matte finish and subtle gold sparkle. My dupe has no golden sparkle, but it still looks good.
e. Mascara: Better Than Sex
f. Bronzer: Too Faced Sun Bunny. This comes in the palette. It has 2 shades. Vampy Varnish's description is "medium golden bronze metallic and a pale golden bronze with a slight sheen." I heard if you swirl all the colors together a good dupe is NYC Sun 'n Bronze in Fire Island Tan.
g. Blush: Melt Into Spring
h. Lip Injection Color: Bee Sting
My Thoughts: I wasn't sure about the blue on me, but it looks pretty next to the green. The Wreckage color is beautiful. I love my Urban Decay books. It makes me want to get more Urban Decay makeup, maybe for Christmas. I already said I love the blush and lip gloss. The eyes are green, brown, and blue, but it looks good. It sounds like a weird combination, but I like it.

For the rest of my face I used the same as the first look, plus:

My Thoughts: Pixie is not very pigmented, but that is ok because I just wanted a wash on my entire eye space. If you want to have more pigment you can get it wet. I'm not sure about pink on the lid. I heard that it is a good color if you have hazel eyes. I think it does bring out the color in my eyes, but I also think it looks like my eyes are sore. It doesn't look so bad once the liner and mascara is on. I'm loving the Hard Candy blush. It took me awhile to get my hands on it because my Walmart was always sold out of it. It's the same lip gloss, and I love it. So the eye look is pink on the lid, taupe in the crease, and mauve as a liner. At first I didn't know if I liked it, but now that the look is complete I think it looks really pretty and feminine.

For the rest of my face I used the same as the first look, except:

My Thoughts: I'm writing this as I'm not done with the look yet, but I can already tell the face looks so glowy and pretty. I love the combo of Chopper and Polyester Bride on the lid. The step where you take the Dark Chocolate color and put it at an angle on your eyes was difficult for me because my eyes aren't like her's. I tried to do it with a pencil brush, but my eye shadow didn't come out even. It's ok because when I got the lighter brown I blended everything out. With the liner I did ok on the upper lash line, but the bottom lash line when I smudged it out the line got really thick, so I'm going back and removing it with eye makeup remover. With this look you may want to do the eyes before the face because I got a lot of fall out from the Urban Decay eye shadows. The eyes look really pretty. They are different shades of brown, copper, and the white just blends in to the copper to make it lighter. The lips are nude. The look is focused on the eyes and glowing skin. I like it.

For the rest of my face I used as mentioned above, except:

These are cream blushes that originally were $24, but now they are on sale for $6!!! These blushes are buildable. They may look scary in the pan, but when you first put them on they are light. You can layer them on, and they get darker. They are nice and blendable. I love these!

She swatched them on her cheeks. They got a grade review of B. Which is pretty good in my opinion. Cream blushes are good to wear in the summertime. Especially if you put a powder blush on top because they will last a long time.

These are beautiful, glittery eye shadows. My swatch picture didn't come out as good as it looked in person. In real life they are more pigmented. They are extremely glittery. I think they are so pretty. They originally were $20, but are on sale now for only $6! Such a great deal.

The De-Slick is supposed to control oil. I'm using this everyday, so I will let you know how I like it. You spray your face just before foundation and then again after you are done with your makeup.

The All Nighter spray is supposed to make you makeup last a long time. You spray this on your face when you are done with your makeup.

These are both by Skindinavia which I heard makes really great sprays for the face. I have heard multiple positive reviews on these sprays, so I was excited to get them for myself.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Eye Shadow Palette Dupes!

I have been hearing about this palette a lot on Youtube and on blogs. I've been keeping track whenever I hear someone say there is a dupe to a color in the palette, but it wasn't until today where I finally got a dupe to all the shadows! I have tried to use my own shadows to dupe makeup looks using this palette. So some of the dupes are my own based on pictures I've seen online, and some of the dupes are from what I have heard people say. I always pay attention when Temptalia says a color is similar to another shade, and Mel from Melmphs on Youtube loves to dupe eye shadows. Sephora Cinderella Storybook Eyeshadow Palette

I'm so excited! It arrived in the mail today!

You can take the eyeshadows off the top, and inside is an empty, velvet compartment.
